This album is so brilliant sublime avantgarde with so many twists and turns, surprises etc. !!!!!!!!!!! I can get deliciously giddy at times and not sure why !!!!!!!!!! 💙💙💙💙💙💙💜💜💜💜💜💜🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Thank you! Yes, this album is a great idea! This Dark Christmas album is actually a sequel to her first Dark Christmas album called From Spirits and Ghosts that came out some years ago. I love dark Christmas songs, those are my favourite ones so this album is the perfect Christmas album for me. My favourites from this album are O Holy Night and Tarja's own Christmas song Dark Christmas. I have never heard before Tarja that anyone would have done Christmas songs like this, turned them into these dark and cinematic pieces. There is a Finnish Christmas project called Raskasta Joulua which translates to Heavy Christmas. So basically famous metal and rock artists make and sing famous Finnish and other Christmas songs. They tour around Finland in December and it is really popular. Tarja also has been part of it in some years. Marko Hietala has been part of it almost every year. The artists don't have to be Finnish. For example, Elize Ryd (Swedish) has been part of it and also Floor has taken part of it. So I recommend you do a song one of their concerts. It's called Varpunen Jouluaamuna (Sparrow on a Christmas morning). I recommend the version sang by Marko from 2019. It is a famous Finnish Christmas song and also my favourite.
Thank you for the reaction. I love Tarja and absolutely adore the whole album Dark Christmas. Tarja releases music video for all 12 songs. There are 6 out to date. The album is really dark, but there is also a lot of light in it thanks to Tarja's voice. My favorite from this album is O Holy Night. I think she will release a video for it this week. I don't listen to Christmas songs much, but I love her approach to those songs. For me, winter and Christmas are rather mysterious.
@PetraPola, I'm excited to see the other videos. I didn't know they'll release videos for all songs. I agree about it being dark, but still very light. The whole album is so beautiful, I can't decide on a favorite song.
@@Kristina-nc8lp Dark Christmas has its own video playlist on Ear Music channel, which is Tarja's label. There you can watch newly added videos for Dark Christmas. I'm really looking forward to O Holy Night a Dark Christmas, which is her own song.
I have seen all videos on Amazon Prime. ‚Jingle Bell Rock‘ is my favorite. But the songs are all amazing. Tarja sounds phenomenal. Especially in ‚O Holy Night’. I just did expect a little bit more from ‚Last Christmas‘
THANKS !!!!!! On my turntable NOW !!!!!!! The vinyl is worth buying for the quality of it's cover and photos inside !!!!!! TARJA pay's much attention to detail on all her vast array of products ☮☮💘💘
Like someone already said, this album is sequel to her previous dark christmas album from 2017. Idea of that first album was that christmas time is not happy for everyone, from many different reasons, for some people it's sad, hard, painful time. She said that for herself, after her mother died, christmas isn't the same. I trully recommend song "O Tannenbaum" from that first album, in music video she showed perfectly what this album means. Something also dark and even creepy. :D Dark Sarah - A Grim Christmas Story. ;)
@@MattsMoshPit1 Oh, I just remembered great version of "Winter Wonderland" by rock band Jaurim from South Korea, maybe not exactly very dark, but definitely not happy like normal christmas music, different, sounds like some epic journey. :D But unfortunately don't have music video, only audio. And Jaurim is not such band like those kpop groups, so, it's really good alternative rock band with amazing female singer. :) And kinda old, they formed in 1997. This song is from their "Merry Spooky X-mas" EP from last year.
Now fun fact the young lady front and center is in fact Tarja's daughter (11) Naomi. Sings and evidently a multi instrument performer. Drums we seen. Piano as well. No surprise as Tarja plays both. She drummed while her then drummer Mike Terrana.( former Rage Against) sang Fly me to the moon at the Beauty and the Beat concerts in 2014. You can play the game of trying to find her in Mom's videos.😂 ❤ That kid may be rocking out with her own band in a few years. Mother, her 2 brothers and daughter all sing. Music really does seem to run in the family.
While it was early to celebrate christmas, it was just the right time for her to release the album cause she also have a christmas tour coming at december 3 already, and ends at december 21, she will be performing almost every day, so she needed to have time to promote the album and the tour separately, plus releasing the album was also a great way to help promote and create antecipation for the tour, and by the end of december is the only time she will really have to spend with her family.
I loved her 1st dark Christmas album "From spirits and ghosts" and this new album continues that theme!!! A really awesome song to check out is Tarja with Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) singing "Oh Holy Night" at Raskasta Joulua!!!
