    I'm a much more inexperienced Highland dancer (I've only been dancing for 4 years) and I am just blown away by this! I just started learning how to leap last week, and it is HARD! The amount of training and work you must have put in to achieve this routine is huge, you have definitely inspired me to practice more!

    you are all absolutely amazing- such beautiful dancers. I really regret not sticking in at dancing and practicing more- 28 and too old now 😢😢 used to compete with David quite a lot and a few times also at Cowal ☺ congratulations to you on on a truly remarkable achievement - just shows you what a lot of time, effort and hard work can do. all three of you are an inspiration to any dancer.

    You're welcome Anthea. It is good to see guy participate in a Irish jig wearing a kilt. Because it shows very good pride what he does for his culture. Plus it takes a lot of courage what he does too.

    HI Anthea- I have a question. I'm just a new admirer of Scottish Highland Dancing, and was curious to know why do the male dancers do the same exact steps with the same arm positions as the females? why wouldn't they have more subdued or masculine type of steps that look would more manly and let the females do the more flamboyant moves?. is it just "tradition" that the men do this? also, and can you tell me the proper name of the dance about the angry houswife? I saw it one time and liked it but I can't find it again because I don't know the name. Thanks!

    • @cassandrawenman330
      @cassandrawenman330 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello David! This is actually a choreography, so it is not the traditional dances, the dancers/ dance teachers make these based on what they decide so in this case they are all doing the same steps and using the same arm positions. In the traditional "Highland dances" for example the Fling or Sword, the steps were actually made by and for men, many dances being used in war, it took quite a while for women to be able to dance them wearing a kilt, so men and women use the same steps and arms. Women traditionally danced the "National Dances" like the Blue Bonnets or Lilt, which are more graceful and "flamboyant", wearing a different outfit. Now a days men also do the national dances but wear a kilt and do similar arm positions to the highlands, for it to be more masculine.
      Also the dance you are talking about it about an angry Irish washer woman, it is called the Irish Jig.
      Hope this helps!

      +Cassie Weiss thank you Cassie for taking the time to reply back and explain. I love this dance... I love when the pipes kick in. What's so awesome is that you have a real pipe player at your events. Makes it genuine.

    I would also enjoy a new style.
    Maybe more with lights and those shadows incorporated more.
    I imagine them in all white.
    And traditional colored lights apon them.
