My first grand prix... white 88 ... it started my obsession with grand prix... I've had 11 of them through out my life....practically every body style.. my fav was my 1996 teal one and my 1999 black GTP ❤ But my 1988 Started it all!! ❤ Loved Pontiac also had 2 Bonny's and a Sunfire. 😊
@coololds85 Have you ever done any research into the Grand Prix? Its technology was far ahead of the Regal. The Grand Prix had a heads up display in 1989, as well as a detailed driver information center, a CD player, steering wheel radio controls... the Buick Regal was meant for simple luxury. Pontiac was the sporty, performance brand. Besides, good luck trying to find a Regal that is better or sportier looking than my Grand Prix.
I think where Pontiac went wrong is when they redesigned the 2004 Grand Prix! I have an 05' which is pretty cool, but not as luxurious as my 00' and 01', I think that Pontiac should have redesigned the Grand Prix in 2004 to look more like the 2003 with a better more modern interior. The Bonneville GXP body should have been kept for 2006 with a new interior until 07' where they should have redesigned it into the G8 (but keep the Bonny name).
Um, my Grand Prix's are the best cars I've ever owned (That's coming from a person who's owned and/or leased a 13' Malbu, 10' Terrain, 08' Aura, 03' Bravada, 01' Intrigue and even an 06 Mercury Milan!
I have a 2000 GP GT Sedan with 29K miles, a 2001 GP GTP Special Edition coupe with 41K miles, a 2005 GP GTP sedan with 24K miles, a 2005 Bonny GXP with 26K miles and a 2010 G6 GT sedan with 12K miles on it. I love them all but my absolute favorite is my 2001! I have upgraded the engine in my G6 from a 3.5L V6 to a 2.8T V6 with 300HP and 300TQ, so it's super fast! I will win just about every street race. I have K&N filters, Crab intake and cherry bomb exhaust or flowmaster exhaust on all of them!
@coololds85 What is with all of the Grand Prix hate? The Grand Prix was an awesome car. Of all the W-bodies it was without a doubt the best looking. The Regal was a grandma's car, even the GS was just a sporty grandma's car. The Regal was that way until the end. Now, you can modify a Regal to look pretty BA, but from the factory... the GP was much better looking. And look at the end of the w-bodies... Grand Prix had the GXP with the LS4... the Regal didn't..
@whatthefehl312 seriously I know about every detail about all three type of GM10 cars from 1988-1989 and I know the Buick Regal and Pontiac Grand Prix are no different from each other. I don't really care if the Pontiac Grand Prix had a sporty look to it. If you rather have a sporty car than thats your opionion but when I look at a car I look for luxury in a car. besides both of these cars have the same performance so it doesn't matter which car you own anyway out of these three cars.
Buick Regal was the offical car of the olympics i dont car if Pontiac Grand Prix was Motors trend car of the year Buick Regal should of been Buick Has always been the best car since 1973 when they first made it Pontiac Grand was only good until 87
They should have restyled the G6 (2009.5 edition) in 2007 and then completely redesigned it in mid 2008. Something that looked like a regular G6 on the outside but was RWD and had a better interior. The Torrent should have been redesigned for 2008 into the current Terrain. The GTO should have been a Grand Prix (RWD) on steroids. (Grand Prix G8 concept). The trans am should have been returned to it's original look but with a modern design (1969 coke bottle styling).
Man would you believe this car in 1988. While back then in Italy at the same price we were buying ugly outdated cheap ass Fiat Regata and two years later, in 1990, the even uglier Fiat Tempra. Maybe the only decent italian car in this price tag was the Alfa Romeo 75 ("Milano" in the USA) but was already a very old car, born in 1985 but basically based on the previously 1977 Giulietta. The Grand Prix was ahead of its time beside to be way more solid and reliable than a Fiat or Alfa Romeo. Obviously IMHO and with all due respect 👌
@whatthefehl312 I dont care what you have to say Buick Regal is Known for Style and I think this car has a good source of poewer to this car so dont put down Regal because you think its a granny car when you saw the commericals back than you never saw an old person drving the Buick Regal so what the fuck do you know about Buick Regal I beat a crappy ass mid Mustand GT with my Buick Regal and Pontiac Grand prix doesnt even look like an american GM car it looks like a import piece of shit car

We build excitement! Pontiac!
Hmm, I like 1987 grand prix. One thing is that form 87 to 88 they change the look so much!!! I really like the 87. Thanks for posting!
Retro
Thanks for commercial
My uncle had one of these awesome things in white. Such a truly unique car. Pontiac does know how to built excitement alright.
@msxenix The Chevrolet Lumina was part of that group too. It didn't come out until a couple years later, but it was still based on the W-platform.
I have one of these things, amazing car.

Back when America could make cars.
My first car!

Ew! That dash is horrid looking and probably creaked :(
