My dad passed in December, 3 weeks short of 89. A year+ before he passed, he disbursed his workshop across family and friends. We weren't near each other, and due to Covid and the distance, I wasn't there. I have my own well equipped shop. The things I wanted were his oldest, least likely things others would want. My prize possession from his shop: the stool we sat on the last 50 years while we problem-solved, designed, or shot the breeze. My sisters and step-mother surprised me and sent it cross-country. If you have a couple of special things like that - to give or ask for - please consider it.
Bruh…. The one video my husband watches with me and you go all sad on us. 🥺🥺 but now I want to make toast tongs and make a list of crap in the shed. 🤪🤪
@@bayoucountrybeefarmandwood1309 Don't think of that as sad! I get to think of all the things we did each time I see it or sit on it. It holds no sadness at all. He's right there with me.

I just turned 49....this video gave my wife and I some interesting coffee talk this morning. Lol
I realized how important all of the things I've built her as my guinea pig will he when I'm gone some day. She will always have a little bit of me around when I'm gone. So...thanks.
I can’t believe you ate dry toast! You could have choked on that! 😅 Good idea on letting your loved ones know it’s okay to let go of your stuff when you die. It’s one of the biggest blessings for widows and children to not have to deal with extra things at that time. Another way to deal with it is to have an agreement with a friend in the hobby that says if I die, please help my widow / widower with all my shop stuff so they don’t have to deal with it. I have some handshake agreements with friends in various hobbies that they will sort out my stuff and help recoup any value or just get it to people who would enjoy it. Looking forward to this final week of projects!

I spend more time than I care to admit (actually, there's no shame in spending time learning) watching TH-cam videos. Although I'm super-forgetful about clicking the "like" button, "Hamilton Dilbeck" has become my favorite channel. I can't exactly pinpoint a single reason why. I think it's the appropriate combination of humor, humility, knowledge sharing, and after today's video the confirmation that you are just a really good guy. I'm loving what you're doing!

I was fortunate enough to inherit some of my grandfather's tools long before I got into the hobby. They are now some of my prized possessions.

Great Idea! It truly is a gimmick purchase but I could certainly see my wife buying that in a Gatlinburg gift shop, lol! Great advice on telling your loved ones to not feel bad about getting rid of things. I had a conversation with my wife right after I watched this on the way to church.

I'm really enjoying this series, Hamilton! I was definitely not expecting the doom and gloom of this episode, but it did make some very valid points and has made me think. I'll probably have my brother take the first pick of what he wants from my shop, then my soon-to-be wife can donate the rest to an underfunded/underprivaleged school woodshop class. Aside from that, the toaster pop had me laughing so hard I almost snorted my coffee. 😂 Looking forward to the next one! - Joe

I cringed a bit when I saw that it was made public and immediately looked to delete it but was hesitant for two reasons...1) I was afraid deleting it would result in cancelling the donation, 2) as uncomfortable as I am with this being public, I thought about the song "Pass it on". It only takes a spark. I hope it catches on and that you keep doing what you're doing.
It's unreal to me that one finity is giving you a machine. To give away. They just did a 1-year in business giveaway other than that I don't think they've given anything else away like that so it's pretty cool that they like you that much.
Of course I would love to win the machine but also I have one and so at the same time I would really think it could make a difference in somebody else's life. Obviously I would utilize it very well,
