Serious questions for those who acrylic paint - When John is doing his underpainting, how does he make the paint go so far? I constantly have to load more paint and it dries almost instantly. I use plenty of water, but his paintbrush never empties!

Hi, is it necessary to coat the canvas with gesso/ prime white acrylic paint or can we directly paint on canvas?
if you buy stretched canvas outside.. you don't need to prime but if it's still rough.. then you can add 1 layer...

you can try to spray with water on your canvas.. it makes paint flows better.
Some types of paintbrushes hold more paint than others, so it could be that?
