Also this chart is misleading. Key parts India were never united until the British Raj with the exception of very short periods. China on the other hand had its core areas united for most of this period. So it makes sense to speak of a China GDP but not a India GDP until the British Raj.

Also this chart is misleading. Key parts India were never united until the British Raj with the exception of very short periods. China on the other hand had its core areas united for most of this period. So it makes sense to speak of a China GDP but not a India GDP until the British Raj.
