- In the small town of Snyder sits a Mexican restaurant with sizable portions. Ponderosa Restaurant & Motel is owned and operated by Luis Conteras, known for his memorable meals and making sure his customers get their money’s worth. Ponderosa’s large portions and incredible taste earn it the title of The Texas Bucket List Bite of the Week!
My grandfather built the Ponderosa Motel!! I can't tell you how excited I was to see this just pop up. I can't wait to go there next time I'm visiting family! :)

Worked on a drilling rig 5 minutes from this place for a year. Ordered takeout many times. This place is rough looking and would scare some people away, but their food is perfection and the portions are huge. A lot of their plates are $12-$15, but you get two huge meals or three nice meals out of a plate! Main thing is the quality/flavor of the food, excellent! The cheeseburgers are about the best you will ever eat, feeds two! Ask for a bullfighter, a roasted jalapeño with your food, excellent! After a few visits you become family! My coworkers told me about it and I couldn’t find it because I kept driving past this old pink hotel not realizing it was the right place!
Most places out here are over priced, this seems to be the opposite. Need to stop there next time im in town.
Back when me and my husband were just starting our journey in life, we lived in his hotel, and he would give us burritos when we were starving. Going thru tough times. He such an amazing person. His burritos and his home made pickles will forever stick with us. AMAZING!!
You can tell this man loves what he does, and is in it for the food ! I know where in going Next after this quarantine is over!

I’ve eaten here with the best company you could get. Walk in and it kinda takes you back in time. Stop in if you can. I can assure you it’s worth a drive. Great job TX BL.
We went there a week ago and oh boy did we walk out with doggie bags a full belly and lots of laughs! Good stuff, we plan to go back for the taco challenge!

Well after watching this I can definitely say that the ponderosa hotel definitely deserves to be on the Texas bucket list. Because there is a chance after eating all that food, you might just kick the bucket. LOL!

I knew I raised my son right when he was offered a swimming scholarship. CA, FL or MN, he chose MN, I said for a TX kid its really cold up there, but he said, I just like the people better.

I’m a food snob! I broke my back in restaurants all over America so I’m picky but i know one thing! The greatest meal you ever ate is always waiting for you at a small mom & pop place where they love what they do! That’s the secret to a successful restaurant!

It happens all the time. I was in real estate for eight and NEVER met anyone who owned their home. Homeownership is a marketing tool for banks, mortgage companies, title companies, and insurance companies. The tax laws are carefully crafted for the real estate industry, never for the consumer. The mountain of documents needed to complete the real estate transaction are there to protect the agent, brotker, and title company against law suits always. That's a dirty secret the consumer never learns until it's too late.
