I just love you two. I’ve never felt so close to people I’ve never met. You and Kyle are incredible, hard-working folks. Every bump in the road is temporary with your work ethic.
Some day you will say to your children, me and daddy fixed this and fixed that. Making wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. Take plenty of pictures and make an album to look back on. This will truly be your renovated home. You both are doing a fantastic job and learning as you go. And the fact that you are doing so much work yourselves, really saves money. Fantastic.
Really love the greetings from your family! I'm so glad you and Kyle were able to take time to spend the holidays with your family's and friends. So excited to see the coming work on your place and love those cute kitties so much!
Thanks so much, it means a lot to have family time. They are so excited about the house, too! Wishing you a happy new year! The kitties say hello haha.
Love our standing seam roof and vinyl replacement windows. I miss the old wavy glass but not the cold they let in. My 1790s house has nothing plum. This has made simple drywall hanging a challenge as well. Fun watch, and I enjoyed 👍
Yes, standing seam is amazing and should last forever for us! Haha I can image the drywall was tricky. We’ll have some of that to do in the basement I believe.
Wow the roof looks beautiful and all those skylights look so nice and will brighten up the inside so much. Accidents happen but you two didn’t get hurt so that’s the most important thing. The work outside looks much better and you have prevented the upper area getting worse, so great work x
To say that I was jumping in my seat with excitement with the start of your renovations would be an understatement 😄 You and Kyle are such and inspiration and I’m so excited that you are sharing this journey with all of us 🏡
Ally, my sister has that same Kubota and owns 20 acres in Maine. She says it’s a game changer. They have a wicked long driveway and they plow it as well as firewood up to the house and use the tailgate as a work station as you did. Nice work on the window!!
I'm just so darn proud of you both. You guys have put in some serious TLC, making that house, your HOME. Plus that garden is amazing!! Wishing you many blessings of health, prosperity and joy!!! ✨♥️
Happy New Year Ally ! What an incredible hard work and energy ! I am so in awe of what you do. I like the intro where you summarize in minutes all that you did since 2 years ! I agree that the house was old and probably rotten, but what a spectacular house you are going to have soon ! I like everything you do. You are such an inspiration ! Hugs from Washington DC
Hi Sweat Pea, So very proud of you two. You both have worked hard, and it shows. Your place looks amazing. Wow that black roof looks killer!! A lot of hard work, but wow you can say....... we did this. HUGS! Have a great New Year.
Amazing transformation in progress! I did this when I was your age but you are much more skilled than I. I am so excited to see what's in store next week!!
You’re so kind thank you! You must have so many fun, fond memories of that time. In regards to the next project… I cannot wait to share! Going to work on it more just now.
@@allymariebrown So many fond memories indeed. However, I don't miss carrying shingles up the ladder but knocking out walls, designing and decorating was fun. I actually enjoyed cleaning up and sweeping at the end of the day! I see you are that way, too. I don't handle disorganization well.
Wow Ally! You've come such a long way with the A frame, it'll take as long as it takes, but the main thing is you're doing it properly. And of course it all about the journey! Look at the skills you've learned along the way and every project you do large or small makes it more yours. You invest your time and effort in it and it will take care of you! Half way through January, snow on the ground and you're already accomplishing great things! Glad to be on the journey with you! Take care Fairy of the wild woods! xX❤Xx
Welcome back. It struck me as you were talking about the transformation of your house, these videos are a testament to how you and Kyle are also in a state of transformation. As exciting as it is to see the house change, it is moreso watching how much you two are growing right along with the house. I think it would also be a wonderful thing for you to write a book on herbalism too. Not sure if you have talked about this before. Anyway, thank you for a window on your journey.
The roof looks great! Never fun to run into rotted wood and electrical issues on top of it. You two have gotten so much done already and are learning along the way. 😊 Happy New Year 🎊
Wow, the roof looks great! I think the exterior color of your house would look beautiful in red, like the ones in Sweden. Specially during the winter time with snow, looks beautiful. I hope everything goes well fixing that siding.
Hello sweetie! Loved watchin the clip from Christmas and how you wk sooo well together tackling all of your projects..how exciting to get goin on that rotted wood and new windows! Roof looks good too 🥰🥰🥰🥰 hugs and love sent to u both..and ur fur babies❤❤ have a blessed day!
Lovely Holiday time with family! I’m very relieved that you and Kyle picked up the Kubota, it’s truly an investment to save y’all time and money over the long haul and have something reliable and under warranty. My wife LOVES the Lucid Lavender products I ordered for her!!!
Roof is beautiful, but I think it’s gonna be a challenge to clean the flute on the chimney now I’m sure I will figure something out, but you gotta be careful
Thank you!! It will increase the difficulty a bit-My plan is to use a thick, large piece of memory foam secured on the ladder to prevent scratching and just take my time as always :)
What year is the cabin? I live in a 1925 home and it’s made out of cedar complete cedar cedar siding cedar everything is cedar and I try to keep it as charming and original as it was when we first got it. It was my childhood home my mother had and then I got it and we keep it. We are replacing the whole 1925 windows because it gets cold and hot.In here ..we just put blow insulation in the attic
Single wall construction has never been the best option. It looks like the old windows were not flashed properly or at all. We used 15 lb felt on the bottom,, sides then the top. Never had a leak. But now you have flashing tape which I think is a scam but code in many areas.

Awe, such a sweet thing to look forward to! I’ve been capturing on the film camera too for some photo documentation. A scrapbook is an awesome idea.

Oh wow that is quite amazing!! I love cedar. Our cabin is from 1975.
Happy new year 2025 🎊 you both are so strong 💪 and may all your dreams come true ❤️
Happy New Year to you too! Thank you so much 😊
DID THEY INSTALL THOSE WINDOWS KOWING THERE WAS ROT?? DID THEY AT LEAST POINT THAT OUT TO YOU?
Sort of a long story-but we did hope the rot would have been fixed as it was noticed. We’re going to make sure everything is handled now.
