I've been listening to Neil Young since I was 12 and now I'm 63 my wife and I've been married for 43 years and harvest moon was always her favorite song and now she suffers from Alzheimer's and I've been playing The Barn song to her and it makes her smile so I know you are in her heart thank you so much
'Harvest Moon' is my wife's favorite NY song also,,but she feels Neil didn't treat Peggy well in the end..

Completely true. Neither did Todd Rundgren. That's the reason Neil & Todd are the few artists that still make relevant music after 50 YEARS.

@@chrisblower8868 yeah, like everything, it's tough to be an ARTIST of their caliper ALL THE TIME...
Then again Neil & Todd co-write, perform with and produce a tremendous amount of OTHERS' MUSIC. I once telephoned Todd's current wife, Michelle Grey, 30 years ago while writing a review of his "Nearly Human" release (by then his 14th album). I failed to get an interview; I discovered Todd was working with cutting-edge Apple Software, completing an internet platform wherein musicians could "play & mix" tunes with strangers from around the World. Truly Revolutionary stuff "kids" now have as an app.
And in the early 90's Neil had his MAMMOTH "Harvest Moon" era, and was (and will always be) working with acolytes like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden etc. to underwrite The Bridge School's financial and therapeutic acumen. He also simultaneously had other projects within and outside "the Biz".
Cats like Neil (and Todd) are too talented to narrow their output of the "Ancient 9 Muses". I could conclude with any single HIT or GREAT SONG in THIS 6th DECADE of creativity, but I don't need to put too fine a point on their VITAL LONGEVITY.

What an artist. I saw him in Chicago when Heart of Gold was still fresh. I was expecting Sugar Mountain, After the Gold Rush stuff. Instead we got Tonight's the Night. I was so disappointed. Then I bought the album and hated it. Didn't play it for 9 months. One night, feeling a little down, I put it on. Loved it. Loved the memories of the concert. How the Hell did he know what I'd need nearly a year later?

2021 and this man still makes the best music I’ve ever listened to. I wish I grew up to watch him live. Only 19 years old but everyday I hope he will have a performance near my area.

Much like the Barn, built on a strong foundation, being held together over time with tongue and groove and an odd rusty nail, and the wind blowing through comfortable and familiar rafters.
Those who say life and art are not complimentary and cohesive need look no further than what Neil and Crazy Horse have managed to accomplish here, so far and for so long, yet again. Timeless accuracy to their vision and stated purpose put out honestly, stripped bare and openly exposed to our judgement, joy and/or rancour as they always have since first playing or recording together.
If this isn’t another example of creating art with integrity in the business that is music with cult of personality, then what is?

Love reading these comments by other Neil Young fans. It wasn't till 1972, age 19, just back from a tour in Vietnam, that I was introduced to Neil Young. First album heard: "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere." One of his best I believe. And his first with Crazy Horse. His music is life enriching, no?
