    Did you know you were only a few miles away from Edison Motors they based out of Merritt (currently).
    7:58 seconds on the left side of the screen there is a missing sign, that indicates that you have reached the summit of the coquihalla pass 1,244 meters or 4,081 feet above sea level.
    When i was just out of high school 1984 I worked on Phase 1 (paving), Phase 2 I worked on a Rock crusher / test plant, and Phase III I worked surveying the route out. Then moved to the lower mainland and went into IT work.. now I watch truck drivers on youtube... who would have thought.

    The food vendor at Zopkios is great. (9:30 ) we stop there on every trip ! Oh, and technically, the actual Rocky Mountains end at Golden, after Golden, you drive around the north end of the Purcell range, through the Selkirks at Rogers Pass, then the Monashees to Sicamous, and finally the coast range through the Coq. Love the videos Safe travels !

    I was up there when it was still being built, I had to go down TCH 1, but it was nice thru there with the tunnels and all. Tunnels seem to be a pesky thing, no one wants to build em,, cept Norway, lol. like when you were going thru the snowsheds, minimal curves and tunnels . and you have any avalanche zones, with tunnels.

  • @bernieneufeld4297
    @bernieneufeld4297 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Josh, when you get to Kamloops you have a choice of routes to the coast. The Coq goes over 2 mountainpasses and is a limited access highway with no services if you have trouble. In most places you can't even get off the travelling lane. If you stay on #1, you follow river valleys all the way to Vancouver. No mountain passes, easy in many places to get off the highway and also services along the way if you have trouble. This route has spectacular scenery, it will take about 45 minutes longer and you use less fuel. I never take the Coq if I don't have to. BTW, the mountains on the Coq are the northern edge of the Pacific Cascade range and at Hope you are at the southern edge of the Coast Mountain Range. You left the Rockies behind when you left Golden, the next range is the Selkirk Range, then the northern edge of the Monashee Range just past Revelstoke.

    Hi Josh, I live just a couple hundred miles straight South of you and have often wanted to make the trip to Vancouver Island, I used to have cousins living there, they operated a dairy farm,, sadly now are all deceased,,
    My parents made several trips there, during the 1980s and 1990s, and rode that same ferry boat. I rode the SS Badger ferry boat across lake Michigan 8 years ago, that was quite entertaining.
