  • hey folks, thought I would bring you along for another video shooting the Hatfield SAS tonight we're going to be putting 50 rounds of low power shells through the shotgun and see how it functions. I will be shooting 25 rounds of Remington Gun club at 1200 ft per second. and 25 rounds of Winchester Target at 1145 ft per second. I thoroughly clean the gun again last night so hopefully we'll get better performance today. I'd like to thank everybody who watches my videos. and takes the time to leave a thumbs up. and leaving a comment, and if you're not a subscriber please feel free to subscribe. thanks for watching

My Cuz was the Mayor of Stampin' Ground in the 80's. Me, I'm a West By God Virginia guy myself, and I just got the Hatfield (East side of the Tug river) 20 Gauge the other day, fixin' to clean her and get her to the range. Your videos have been a great help! Plus, I'm a new subscriber. Thanks for taking the time to put 'em on the YT.

From the Hatfield website FAQ Why is my gun not cycling/ejecting shells YOU MAY BE SHOOTING AMMUNITION WITH A SLOW VELOCITY AND WEIGHT COMBINATION. WE ALSO SUGGEST CLEANING THE FIREARM THOROUGHLY WHEN PURCHASED BRAND NEW AND AFTER EACH SHOOTING SESSION TO MAINTAIN RELIABLITY AND LONGEVITY OF THE FIREARM. HERE ARE MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS WE SUGGEST FOR EACH GAUGE:
    12 GA: 2 3/4″ 1250 FPS AND 1 1/8 OZ
    20 GA: 2 3/4″ 1300 FPS AND 7/8 OZ
    28 GA: 2 3/4″ 1200 FPS 3/4 OZ
    .410 GA: 2 1/2″ 1300 FPS 1/2 OZ

Have you taken it apart and cleaned it thoroughly? Also store it for a few days with the bolt locked back. That will help compress The recoil spring. That might help also. Also check to make sure your ring is still on the gas piston. They have been known to blow the ring out.

Some of the Walmarts carry the TriStar Cobra 3 pump 410 turkey edition comes with a extended turkey choke I was actually on my way to buy one of those when I found the Hatfield. And it was only $6 more for the TriStar it was $243. And I do think Tri-Star is a higher quality gun than the Hatfield.
