- Katherine Steele (age 16) performs "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" at the 2nd Annual Jerry Herman High School Musical Theatre Awards at The Pantages Theatre in Hollywood.
Katherine won 2nd Place in the Best Leading Actress category for her portrayal of "Christine Daae" in Agoura High School's production of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA directed by former Raoul, Raymond Saar.

Wow! My dream part has been Christine since I was like 6 , we have really similar voices and I don't know if you have the struggle of trying to sing the more "belty " musicals like grease and hairspray but I've always been fitted to phantom, les mis and west side like classical musicals! It's so refreshing being able to find people who sing like you (in a classical way) and not a belty way! I just sang this song for my audition for a theatre school in England and got in! You sound amazing in this and you hold yourself so well! I would love to have a chat about all this with you!! ❤️❤️

Ohhh my god I have the exact same problem. I have a naturally quiet voice and it’s softer and I always use my head voice rather than my belly chest voice and it’s such a struggle in musical theatre!

Apart from the next level singing, the best part is the resolution before the line, "Too many years fighting with tears." That is the moment I strive for.
The fact that the director was a former roual is incredible. This is one of my dream roles and has been every since I was five.

Amazing! You are very talented! I found you recently. My daughter is really into theater and I am learning more about the theater world for her. She is more of a mezzo, not a soprano. She was cast as Rosie in her middle school production of Bye Bye Birdie Jr. in 6th grade and this year, she will be Elle Woods in Legally Blonde Jr. She was also Mrs. Potts last summer at musical theater camp. She is the standout performer at her school so now I am trying to help her get what she needs if his is something she really wants to do.
