Basically the whole video is scripted by LTA just to echo their message. Why bother creating this video then since the same message is all over the internet?
I have installed the OBU in my subaru Forrester and NETS Auto Top Up function in the NETS Motoring card . I use the system for 2 days and love it. There is so much information on the display panel, and after activating the Auto Top function, I do not need to top up my cards in ATM machines again.
is on a big car as shown there is ample space but small car how? why cannot put the pc under the car seat since the lta guy say can place multiple location? only new car have this option?
After watching on how to operate the OBU. I think it's a very bad idea to use it.! Bcos not only it provides blind spots for the driver.! This also encourages the driver and rider to use the touch-screen often and as a result lose a few seconds of focusing on the busy roads.! This will cause a very high chance of accidents.! Afterall, motorist r encouraged not to use their touch-screen iphones too...!!!☝️😳🙄😬🤨😡☝️
Whoever came up with this garbage needs to be sacked, whoever approved this needs to be sacked and banned from getting a job ever. Others progress, but LTA moves backwards. One of the most useless organisation in Singapore.
I cannot believe under direct sun, the temp is only 39.4 Degrees. Many items are burning to touch when left under hot sun. Furthermore the ONE piece IU is waterproof (I assume) and hence not ventilated what is the OPERATING temp in HOT sun ? Didn't LTA specify the need for the new IU to be operational under heat in the tender? or was this missed out?
Easy to fix this. Make a processing unit which can be stored out of sight and 1 dashboard unit with integrated card reader, antenna and heads up display.
With digitilisation, one would have thought that electronic devices will be more compact and smaller. So it is really hard to understand how LTA can end up with three separate components for the new ERP sysytem instead of the previous one. That to me is retrogressive. I believed LTA you can do better than that.
Don't waste time lah. Quickly ask our well paid folks in the gahmen to implement the temporary disable option for the app. And please make it installable for rooted devices lah.
A 2.0 OBU? Now that's cutting-edge technology! Because who needs a sleek, all-in-one smartphone when you can have a three-part brick collection for your dashboard? Forget minimalism, the future is chunky! Security concerns, they say? My smartphone with its fingerprint scanner and constant updates feels pretty secure, thanks very much. Maybe the OBU needs a moat and a drawbridge for ultimate data protection. Dedicated functionality? Don't they know we multitaskers can handle both a phone and this clunky contraption while navigating rush hour traffic and juggling a lukewarm latte? Efficiency redefined! Look, all I want is something that works and doesn't require a user manual the size of a dictionary. Until they miniaturize this behemoth and integrate it seamlessly with my phone, I'll stick to the good old days - when technology wasn't quite so... cumbersome.
If the touch screen is the only way to access important functions, the it is not optional. Whoever decided it can be optional is just insulting peoples intelligence.
Interesting, i didn’t know equipment that function like a mini computer must be hidden from heat. I guess all head units installed at the dashboard, especially EVs with mega screen that seems like a mini computer in Tesla or BYD must be hide at the footwell or underneath the seat away from direct sunlight as it might over heat and affect the reliability of equipment. Asiaone should try better and get real driver to ask the right questions instead of this facade.
Fake as shit. I cringed so hard, especially when they were talking about the display being able to be folded. It's 2024, I would like to see LTA coming up with applications that support apple carplay or android auto that makes use of existing in-car screens.
It will be hacked! The more advance the technology used, the more possibility of entry for hacker. There is a reason why no hacking are done on those simple calculators, no internet/data communication.

She is by far the only happy person installing obu 2.
Is her job. Otherwise she will be fired.
What about those car left 2 to 3 years? Still can install?
Of course. Unless your car is for display only 😂
It will be very useful if it could alert speed camera ahead😅
It does announce Police speed camera.
At 9:42 the processing unit looks different. Is it an upgraded version?
Looks like a demo unit. The one with the mesh like heat sink is the real one

whats the problem with this explaination?
The video a bit more clearer
propaganda video…
How to check OBU number
Is your IU number. Go one motoring website log in your SingPass

Look on the bright side of things even in shitty situations 😊
There's no fuss. Just that no one can penalize government corruption
Is the card unit that makes the whole installation bad. So big! Why can't they make it slimmer .
is on a big car as shown there is ample space but small car how? why cannot put the pc under the car seat since the lta guy say can place multiple location? only new car have this option?
Depends on model of your car. Go back your AD to ask them since they have installed on existing models

Opt out for installing the screen. Use app
the transport minister seat seems curse. almost everyone of them create problems for singaporean
Don't need a screen to inform in school zone

Time to reduce the external temperature OR remove the Minister for Sustainability since there don’t seem to be any available solution in sight?
whats the fuss?...Prob one got used to going down...not all love doing so.

They are really trying very hard...
It's always like that, just like taking the jab during covid period.
Haha mean LTA can track where u go with satellite. It is whether they want to track or not or track u sliently.
Let's hope there is no technical issues with the new system.

Acceptance is the last stage in the griefing process. Life moves on. Only in SG an 2nd gen OBU can turn into a national crisis.
Nice try getting all these people to convince us on a failed design. Propaganda.

just realized they previously said it's optional, then added the function to disable card temporarily on the touchscreen. so now become compulsory..

Bad acting, zero journalism
Why do we need touch screen - stupid design
Poor acting
I know high computing power will draw more power like pc desktop vs laptop. I doubt it is true that OBU draw power as same as old IU.

I only believe when they show me the facts, figures etc. Not by talking.
so many alerts also no use, no one will listen to it and eventually will have people go modify it.
What a hideous design. Disappointed with what LTA is giving us.
