I've held that guitar when I met Ray in San Antonio Texas. It's a great guitar!!! I love how it felt and it sounds badass!. Great memories with Ray!! Thanks Brother!!
DIY bro. Take a file to it and carve yourself an arm contour. If you can repair a Gibson headstock, you can definitely do that. Get the contour nice and smooth with some oil finish on the bare wood. Done.
I've not spent enough time behind a flat top electric to have ever experienced this issue. That's something I've never even considered, actually. Thanks for figuring that out for me. Saves me the time, money, and disappointment.
Question about this build. Knowing that you love Les Paul's, what if the body had a carved top on it along with the bridge and stop tail piece like a Les Paul? That way, you hand wouldn't have been straight against the body because of the low profile bridge and your forearm would have been hitting the body at a different angle? Your main reason why you stopped playing this guitar is my own as well but I favor Les Paul Custom bodies and thickness and I don't struggle with the forearm fatigue that you speak of because of the carved top and the Les Paul bridge.
I've been looking at those guitars lately and was just checking out the Diablo 7 string last night then you post this vid . I really like your guitar too.
Just turned onto your channel..I'm a bass player who wants to learn guitar..I LOVE metal..you make it simple..like I just found out 5min ago that they make a detune pedal..nice..I went out and bought like 4 electric guitars and now I'm like okay..now what to do..love collecting basses and guitars..thanks man
this is the issue i have with my harley benton fusion 3 with the emgs in it. its a flat top and i do not enjoy it at all. tried getting over it and try and be comfortable with it, but i just cant get it to be comfortable. im looking at the harley benton baritone but its like 4-5 weeks until its in stock
You should get someone to do that forearm contour on it. Make it even more your own. Also look into new pickups for the Squier if they are not to your liking. Great options everywhere.
Very much agree about the importance of ergonomics. I have a couple guitars that I just don't play much at all, because they're so uncomfortable. Shame about the guitar, but it sounds like it was a good way to learn what you needed.
Your next Cerberus "Sig" is so cool !! Can't wait to see that !! I'm not a Baritone player, but I would definitely play that same guitar in 25,5 ....!!!! It looks so nice !!
The Forearm countor/Sculpting really does make a huge difference on superstrat body shaped guitars. I wish all of my susperstrat shaped guitars had it...
Tuneomatics can be problematic on bass VI’s though, especially if it’s string though. The subzero rouge has a ton of issues because of that design, can’t fit certain gauges though the body, hard to intonate etc. single saddle hardtails just work better
@ilikeheavymuzic135 yeah I can imagine mate. But let's be real, that's practically a bass (Bass VI), and you never see basses with tunomatics, likely for the reasons you've stated.
Man that sucks. I get it. I have an Ltd super strat style body that one of the ‘horns’ makes playing leads past the 15th fret or so super awkward and I hate it because I love the guitar even though it’s a cheapy. I can’t imagine having a custom guitar like that and finding a feature that just didn’t work with you
The 29" 7 string Solar is really right on the edge of being too big for me. My 27" Agile 8 was my reference before that, and now that guitar feels small. I guess it's just kinda what you're accustomed to.
For a guy who served you sure never heard of the word loyalt 😂 but I guess you could open up a pawn shop and sell all your wares with all your expertise right. Because your opinion matters so much, it’s not like you’re a generic rip off of 2,000 other channels exactly identical to you. And you’re right you def don’t have to practice because all you ever do is run your mouth. run your mouth ray new channel name haha
I love watching that low string wobble like a cable on a suspension bridge flapping in the winds of a hurricane 💜
Built to last, made in perfection in the U. S. A

hey just wanted to tell you your song Neck Brace is fantastic. That album all 8 string?
hey thanks i appreciate that! nope, the whole first album is all 6 string

I fucking love this dude
Still sounds just as killer as it did before
that baritone is my dream baritone. it's beautiful and sound fucking legit. hey ray

I totally get it. I came to a similar conclusion of wanting that contour for comfortably playing an extended amount of time.

You cant send it back to Balaguer and have them add the contour and refinish it?

You let me play that guitar when you came to Salt Lake City, and IMO it was the best feeling baritone I've ever played.
Good stuff man
I can't wait for my BALAGUER custom
Why don't you have Balaguer just edit the guitar?

I gotta have a bevel. I really get it.
I struggle with a lot the ESP EC models because of that.
You like a bit of relic, right ? Go crazy and create the forearm contour !
I should have watched the video until the end before posting a comment !
I'll buy it...
Ok 2 grand and it’s yours

@@alexdegiovanni1598 ok cool
This is just like my Aerodyne jazz bass. It looks awesome, but there is no forearm contour, which makes it uncomfortable to play.
do you have any power tools by chance?
@@xanderraymondcharles what a silly question!😂
Thats why I always prefer tunomatics. I don't like the feeling of virtually playing the surface of the guitar
ah yeah i hear ya on that one

I have a balaguer with binding and a forearm contour. You just have to ask nicely lol.
of all your guitars i want to see rewind of your Dean V 7 string but Balaguer makes killer guitars I really like Kyle Bulls explorer style one
Flying V and Explorer sitting down are the best options...
Who dey!
Ray its jus a little bit of wood that bothers you about the guitar, take a side grinder to it.
If it’s a keeper just modify it, it’s not ruining it, it’s personalising it!
Bro, do it yourself! Remember your gold top? Not hard to get a sanding block, then re paint the contour in black.
i think i just might!
@@xanderraymondcharles I smell a great TH-cam series
Get a good luthier to put a contour on it and make it look nicely relic’d in.
All you had to do was ask them for the contour with the binding 😂😂
It’s almost like I said that wasn’t an option
@@xanderraymondcharles yeahhhhhh but it is tho lol. Just gotta ask!
