I couldn’t help but mention that I just discovered that beats two in three of the first B-flat major chord are exactly note for note the second bar of Charlie Parker‘s solo on ko-ko. Love this stuff!
Great analysis and video - so fascinating and useful for me. Milt Jackson is one of favorites to transcribe and learn from, and I don’t even play vibes! Thank you!
I bumped into this because I transcribed Anthropology by Milt Jackson(with Dizzy) and I was doing a similar thing you are doing with this. But it's just one chorus and I wanted to get more language to see if I could understand Milt a bit more. and WOW, this stuff is what I've been looking for so long. This channel is so good! I think I haven't found it before because it's labeled "Vibraphone". Anyway, do you have any RHYTHM CHANGES recommendations of Milt's playing that I could look into? Maybe like three tunes that I could transcribe? THANKS!
Dang Tim, thank you 🎉 when you play at the end, C-7 and F7,were those arpeggios or pentatonics? Hope you are well God loves you deeply shalom 🤗🐼♥️✝️💐 Philippians 4:8
Hey, I got a question, how come it is so easy to rush on vibes? I find myself doing this occasionally and some doing it as well. Love the videos. Greetings from Canada.

Never noticed that - but it makes total sense! Thanks for pointing it out.

Super cool. Excellent approach for working it into your vocabulary.
This is already helping a ton

Thanks Tim.
As always, you made a great job 👍
Would you say that on the G7 (mes 3 ans 4 ) we have a nice phrase to illustrate the X 7 13 colour ?
Yeah - I actually started just using that phrase as a Dom13 line in general because it's so nice.

Transcription question: if you hear what sounds like an obvious flubbed note do you write what they played or write what they meant?
Depends, if I want to turn it into an exercise, then I’ll play it the way I want it to sound even if it’s different from the original.
👍👍👍
