Hey James! Not sure if you know this, but a sims modder made a mailbox for the Bigwallet family. Thought you might want to check it out. There is also a mod called My Favorite Raincoat. It functions just like an umbrella, but without the annoying actions. Been a lifesaver for me. Also, there is an outhouse mod available. Found it last night while searching for a functional toaster. It even has the moon shape on the door. Funny! Went searching for a toaster and found an outhouse.
AroundtheSims4 has a toaster and a few other functional small kitchen appliances! Each one has unique CC recipes. And someone has a functional cookie jar, which uses the baked cookies from the game, it just gives your Sim a single random serving. Ravasheen for sure has a CC drink tray for creating a single serving of the hot chocolate and apple cider which came with an expansion but for some reason is only available through the outdoor food stands (one of them was bugged and can't even be added to Dine-Out menus.)
My dad has cows. Not once has he called any of the cows by their actual names, only nicknames completely unrelated to their actual names. I feel right at home with you always calling Bluebell Bessie!
My family has dogs and horses which have official names and completely different names that they're called in everyday life. For some of them, though, I use a third unrelated nickname
Don’t know if anyone suggested it yet but it would be really cool to bring in sandalwood as a ranch hand! It would be a great callback to Trenton being a farm hand in cottage living, cheaper and less buggy than the actual ranch hand and also give us more time with the non-horse animals :)
You can store produce in the refrigerator. You can cook and make nectar from it as if in your inventory. LittleMsSam has a Transfer Inventory mod to make it easier to put it in and pull it out (works with storing flowers in the flower arranging table too).

I agree with this. It's also more realistic. I'd also consider just selling Basil right now or waiting for his first gold medal since it's a lot of horses as he said. Flame was just made to be Super Horse lol plus she'll be around the longest so might as well.

You'll do better in the competitions if you make sure all your horse's needs are excellent and the horse's mood is confident. It also helps if your Sim is confident when you compete. Have your horse train for just a few minutes on whatever skill you will be using in the competition and they'll usually get confident. Under the Friendly menu, there is a category called horse skills where you can find compliments your Sim can give the horse and that also seems to help them grow confident sometimes. If your horse is tired or hungry when you compete, they never place as high. I know you've decided to make all grape nectar, but the energy nectar made with lemons and an herb is like drinking coffee and partially fills your energy bar. The prairie grass nectar is nice to have to fill your hunger bar up a bit when you are out and about. The more aged the nectars are, the more they fill the needs.

The Case For NOT Selling Basil 1) He makes adorable babies. 2) You're going to need a horse to do jobs and competitions while Flame is pregnant. Another foal might not be old enough or experienced enough. 3) The foals are always going to be worth more because they're younger. 4) Flame has a good relationship with him. She may not always accept another stallion.

I’ve found that the lag is tied to notifications for some reason. In order to get rid of the lag delete all notifications; you’ll have to do it lots when you play for a while, or at least I recommend doing it before you enter build mode which is where a lot of lag comes from, switching between bb and live mode

What else does a cow need? Of the top of my head? Food, water, saltlick, milking equipment (a bucket and that decorative stool from Snowy Escape might work if you wanna go rustic), a hose and a drain in the floor and maybe a shovel to help clean up cow pats... (you'd use the hose both to clean the cow and to spray the cow pats down the drain and the shovel for the larger lumps... need I say more? A small fake silo would work well with the drain because that's where it would normally go... or you can skip the drain and just have the hose and shovel as you just have the one cow), a pitchfork to shovel in hay and straw would be useful too in either the horse or cow barn. Oh and maybe some fake milk pasteurising equipment around the side of the barn would be cool. Or a fake footbath (like a metal tray with antiseptic solution on the floor you make the cow walk through to help prevent infections/fungal growth in the hooves)... or a cow brush, though I dunno how you'd fake one of those... (it's live a revolving round brush that cows love to rub their heads against. So cute to watch. ❤)

Maybe you should put the litter box in the barn too. That way the cat will spend more time in there (along with the scratching post!)
These let's plays are getting better and better, each new dlc brings another upping of game. Top notch, Mr. Turner, top notch indeed!!
James's intros never fail to make me laugh 😂
The Case For NOT Selling Basil
1) He makes adorable babies.
2) You're going to need a horse to do jobs and competitions while Flame is pregnant. Another foal might not be old enough or experienced enough.
3) The foals are always going to be worth more because they're younger.
4) Flame has a good relationship with him. She may not always accept another stallion.
I also advocate for leaving Basil he is so sweet 😂
“Wonder if you can just play as a horse?” Sounds like you need to find out 😂 I’d watch it lol
At 27:20 it looks like a sim is chasing one of the horses 😂😂😂
And running like in Sims 1/ og sims/Sims anno 2000😂
Or maybe they’re just running, but that’s what I saw😅
For the barn cat, it might be cool to put a couple mouse holes from city living in the barn for the cat to catch!
There is one from cats and dogs also
Definitely think we should move soon! Would love a build video in between
You can use the community board to send your horse off to train and get their skills up. They will go off on their own to do it.
Some mouse holes in the barn would be cute for the barn cat! I know they can’t catch them, but it’s a nice touch.
Maybe lady should go meet someone at the cowpoke dance so she can have more help around the ranch😂❤
“How’s everyone doing? ‘I’m tired and starving…’” lol ssaaaame
James pls unlock the animal pen for Bobbie! I think it’s trying to route there
Will cats attack the chickens?
@@pitasjourney No, but they do interact with them. All the animals will interact.
I'm pretty sure Bobie can already access it? He's set it to allow all household members, hasn't he? And the pets should count as part of the household
The amount of dopamine I get from you going weeeee weeeeeeeee when lady is on the horse or the horse goes running is not even funny! So adorable James ☺️☺️☺️
Can you get different color horses so we can see more variety? also i love this series
There's something extra special about the winter in this world that comes with the pack... It's so- mystical 😍
Poor Bessie and I love how Baa-tuu is still going strong yet the notifications say everyday the poor thing is gonna go with Grim..ahhhhhh Sims ya gotta love this game. I don't think it would be this much fun if we didn't have glitches lmao! Definitely time for the bigger ranch..the animals have taken over..Lady needs a Vaca lol! Great vid!
The Corpse Flower irl blooms for 2-3 days once every year or two and can grow up to 8 feet tall!
Just a little factoid for no particular reason.
"I want Bobie or Billy or what's their name... feel like they're being loved! Poor cat.🙈😄
You can always tell when someone isn’t a cat person. 😂 Poor Bobie!
Really enjoying this series. With each “competish” it’s clear that no horse is as good as Flame. Maybe because she was a wild horse you adopted and trained? Which is the equivalent of street starts.
28:50 yes, when is on the inventory uses power, the laptop, you need to put on the household inventory. Learned that actually with your videos 😂
I think that if you're going to make only grape wine and wait till autumn to harvest them, it makes sense to age existing wine fully
Just got home from a super exhausting trip abroad with no access to youtube and this video is the first thing I see upon opening it... a BLESSING...
It really says a lot how excited I was to see this posted 10mins ago. “let’s goooooo”
I’ve found that the lag is tied to notifications for some reason. In order to get rid of the lag delete all notifications; you’ll have to do it lots when you play for a while, or at least I recommend doing it before you enter build mode which is where a lot of lag comes from, switching between bb and live mode
Yes and since the new pack get way more notifications than used to
ur needs, the needs of the horses and the emotions are very important for the Horse Competitions...sry hope u can understand me, im bad in writing english, im german but i love ur videos so much and i learn everyday by looking ur videos more english :D
James not realizing that the mood of the horse and sim matter when competing 😂
I seriously adore this series, it's fueling my hyperfixation on the sims right now whilst I'm away from my PC. Autism go brrrrr
Oak seems like he really wants to make up to Lady. Maybe he could, by working as a free ranch hand? 😂
I think the cricket packet was from when Lady did her interaction with the flies!!
Once you upgrade the water catcher things you should size them down and hide them in a well! It’ll look like it fits better 😁
Making a cute shed for nectar making is a great idea. Could also have a little sunroom/greenhouse attached to grow plants. Such a great LP!❤
Click on the ranch hand and tell him to pick up manure...when they decide to show up lol
I feel like the mini goat and sheep James have are definitely bugged. In Deli's LP the mini goat and sheep do past on haha.
for the lag situation, similarly to pressing escape to remove it, i found that the pop up for cooking meals also removed it for me. just another option to try! sims team really needs to figure out what’s going on with the lag, running the sims on high end computers still makes it lag
I just sold one of my horses for over 40k. And completig the riding aspiration makes horses learn sooo fast, it's crazy. I mean, with the sim that completed it😇
I feel like at this point you should just have Lady romance someone and get married to have an extra consistent hand on the ranch.
A good way to find orchids is by looking pockets on patchy
“That’s not how trees work” 😂
Baatu has been dying for 84 years now but nope, no time for goodbyes for Bessie
On the next lot you, could hide a wind turbine as the water mill/pump thing in debug
I had a dog in my student house once and it was obsessed with the fireplace, it would not move from it. I tried to call it to lay in it's bed, it would go and then get right back up and go to the fireplace and would always pass out when it got so tired. I would have to call it to eat and I would take it for walks, but bam, right back at the fireplace 😂 the only time it didn't stay there was when it was off, but freaking sims love the fire place too 😂
