The US State Dept grades the danger level on the Sulu Penn. as level 4, the same as Afghanistan. They say, we can't help you if you get into trouble. The rest of Mindanao is level 3, which means re-think going there.
I would describe Batanes, the Balabac Islands, and Tawi-tawi as "the crown", "the rings", and "the cleat sandals", respectively, of Philippines. All of them are precious but the rings need some attention, and the footwear needs some repair and polishing.
The Tawi-Tawi island has a lot to offer, but because of its terrible image as a result of kidnappings and terrorists utilizing the island as a hideout, it is now risky to travel to, especially for foreigners. However, I thought it was already secure because the government is working to keep its citizens safe and develop it as a popular tourist destination. The area has incredibly clean, clear water, and we wish the Western media would quit portraying negative images of Tawi-Tawi. My people in Tawi-Tawi are incredibly welcoming and caring, just like regular and common Filipinos.
It's amazing Bangsamoro Tawi-tawi with style of Malaysian Filipino 🇲🇾🇵🇭 but if Sabah was a capital of Mindanao Philippines 🇵🇭 made in former president Ferdinand E. Marcos sr. 😊😅😂
