  • I spent two days in Basilan and what an experience it was! Lamitan is known as the City of Colours in Harmony. A multicultural melting pot of ethnicities and cultures. It's different with a familiar tinge. I loved it.

Mayor Rose died in that infamous shooting last year when she was shot at the Ateneo on her way to attend the Law School graduation of her daughter Hannah...

nice to see people smiling and simply everthing seems to be functioning peacefully and normally prior to watching this the visions of basilan - lamitan that pop up my mind is that conflict that happened there in the early 2000s between goberment armed forces and self proclaimed jihadist bandits , peace and order is probably better now but i will be quite wary to put it in my ph bucket list destination, ... hope the stream to political stability will continue in basilan n lamitan, very interesting and imformative video mr. butters.👍🤗

I find that it is the Filipinos who discourages foreigners about certain places not being safe in the Philippines.. they would say, don't go to Tondo or Binondo, careful in Divisoria, it is unsafe in Mindanao... but time and time again, foreigners who have been to these places only find the most friendly down to earth people. I wish my fellow Filipinos stop living in the past and stop thinking that Philippines is like in 1972. Please stop giving this incorrect advice.. it is not true and also in most places, you have to unfortunate to be in the wrong place. I know Marshall had a body guard or certain places had armed forces but generally these places are safe... much much safer than in the US!
