I have been using transformerless power supplies since a long time for various purposes. I can suggest you some points if you don't mind: 1) always connect the live(phase) to the open end of the pf...then the output will not give shock...to remember either write L on the live side of the two pin plug,else use a 3 pin top(earth pin remains unused) where the L and N always remain fixed, 2) secure the entire unit in a plastic box/customised box made of mdf or pvc sheet 3) add an indicator for ac using a 100 K 1/4 W in series with a red LED 4) use 1 M 1/2 W as discharge resistor for pf and 22-56 K 1/4 W as discharge resistor for filter 5) use a 10-100 ohm 2 W resistor as fuse with phase of the ac line 6)since the output dc amperage is low limit the use of such supplies for low current requiring loads only 7)check regularly the electrolytic capacitor for any bulge or fluid leak. The hidden side is not in terms of good efficiency, but in the value of consumption energy , as this method leads you to consume all voltage energy, 220 volts, as if you dissipating it in air and even reducing and taking just from it, 5 or 10 volts, but you still factured by the summe of consumption of 220 volts in the bill, but on the opposite side. If you use the transformer using the magnetic induction method, you will consume only what you converted by transferring electrons with magnetic induction at 5 or 10 volts, and you will be charged and factured only this amount in the bill. Engineers in this field do not neglect this method, but in this field nothing is valid except the correct one that gives a good efficiency of All sides the safety and even economic sides of important consuption of energy and facturisation too . Added: C = I / (U * 2 * Pi * f) -> C = I / ( U * 6.28 * f ) Example if you have 230V / 50Hz on your mains and a 10W / 3V LED ( P = U² * I -> I = 1.1 A ) C = 1.1 / ( 230 * 6.26 * 50 ) -> 15.231 µF for full brightness and that's a lot, I would not recommend such a simple power supply for such high power LEDs. If you are using 20mA LEDs instead you will get this: C = 0.2 / ( 230 * 6.26 * 50 ) -> 0.276 µF -> 276nF for full brightness and this is much easier to achieve, if you are using a lot of LEDs in serial you should do your math with the voltage drop over this LEDs. If you are using a high power LEDs with a 22nF condenser (like it was used in the video) you are only using a fraction of the power such a LEDs could deliver.
This is good for destroying almost any device powered by it, then to risk being electrocuted and eventually even setting the house on fire. Congratulations,it is a multi-purpose circuit really.

first off we see the output resistor is getting toastie , start with device to power , then using knowledge of current for output and cap and resistor for voltage , lower cap yields lower voltage with smaller caps with less capacity with higher resistance
Hello the difference between transformer and capacitive reactance is about the amperage so the capacitove reactance is limited in amperage you can use it to small comsuption of amper to charge a low device cosumption but if you use it to charge a devices with high value of amper it will not be enough and take lots time i think so you find the result by using the calculation . V = i ×R and i = V/R >>> V / 1÷ ( 2π fc)
What is dangerous? AC is converted to DC , supply dropped. Only thing is you should not touch anywhere in the circuit while given supply. That's all. Nothing is dangerous.
Dangerous to life, you must isolate the mains voltage from low voltage. If the diode bridge short-circuits, there is mains voltage on the low voltage side.

It will not burn because of the Capacitive impedance with resistance (z) and this capacitor must support more than 400 hundred volts to make a impedance with resistance in the alternative current also must calculate the result of gathering resistance and farad together. With base (z)
You assemble the subject circuit in good manner but the values of all components you have not told neither you zoom that might be readable or color code.so this is useless
Because of when using a device or somthing to suplying dc voltage in out put it will be decreasing to the just 3 volt or less than what you expect 12 volt also by a few time it will be very hot and the component wil be damaged
