God, I remember listening to Hanoi Rocks back in the 80's and nobody had heard of them....a band's career cut to short....they had some classic songs, underrated before Razzle's death!
There was rebirth Hanoi Rocks in 2001-2009. Did you miss it? They did 3 good records: Twelve Shots on the Rocks (2002), Another Hostile Takeover (2005) and Street Poetry (2007).
It's so bittersweet to watch this video, these guys were great together. But this cover warms my heart deeply. For some reason I'm appreciating this song differently now. I knew how genius it was back in time but now I can listen to even more subtle music things . I always need to take a deep breath when this songs starts.
However, this singer don't think he sound bad himself at all cos he went on with 3 new guys and continue singing using Santa Cruz name after 3 other members left the band. What a joke.
This reminds me back in 82 83 84, I went to the capital center in Washington DC and seen iron maiden open up for Judas priest, I remember being so excited about this music and I'm a drummer and a guitar player these guys are my hero they are a throwback to the '80s.
Ah man..Imagine how the internet would be freaking tf out if these guys got back together, huuuge shows and bet the tickets would be sold out in seconds only if they would come back together
Great job! Awesome work! - Just one item. Band needs to participate in background vocals for support to fill it up with more body. Loved it! Great choice for song to cover!!! Great taste in song selection!
Took too much of this, had too much of that But with you I never got enough I thought there'd never be love in my life And that's sad 'cos when I think what I could've had It makes me feel so bad I smoked a lot of sky, I drank a lot of rain Anything to ease my pain But now your touch is all it would take And that's a shame 'cos I can never come home again And you're a million miles away I'll never get a chance to hold you So my message is the wind I pray that it gets through to you Loving you was so easy And leaving you was so very hard And now I'm living in this ocean of blue In the corner of a prison yard I should have listened to you Now you're a million miles away I never get a chance to hold you Please don't be thinking of me Please don't be thinking of me Please don't be thinking of me Please just forget about me
It is so easy to see the "hook" in Archie's mouth for America... Someone along the way told him he "was" Santa Cruz", and the music has suffered... It's just too fucking bad... These guys could be as big as they want to be, BUT NOT in America... the 15 minutes of fame will ruin them... And the record companies will exploit them... Old ways of becoming American rock Gods are dead... I wish these guys would just go back to their roots and rock, and rock hard... In Finland. Like I posted in another video before, America would ruin these guys... Well, it seems to have happened... Peace.. JLG...
Good job! This should have a whole lotta love more views! Got a quick glimpse of the audience. Where was this taken? Am I the only one that thinks the guitar player (sorry I forgot your name) looks a lot like Steve Clark or does everyone else know this & I'm late. Thanx for sharing this with us. Edit = Apologize "Bass" even though it's still a guitar.
Hey Sally, this clip is from a show called SuomiLOVE where top artists perform songs dedicated to ordinary ppl on whatever occasion: love, hardships won etc. hence the mixed audience. I don't follow the program regularly, but it's rare to hear classic rock on the show, a pleasant surprise for sure, and probably dedicated to a huge Hanoi Rocks fan sitting in the audience.
Well I don't really feel those emotiones of this song here as it was every time when Hanoi Guys has performed this, specjaly back than in the 80's. However those guys are talented and it c'd be good if thay c'd hang up with Mike Monroe, thay c'd lern a lot from this amazing Guy!!! Btw; the lead singer s'd lern correctly the lyrics to this song as it was a few whiles there when He has sing mistakely... Rest in peace Razzle, the Angel of the diamond ray's... never forgotten, always deeply in heart... [*] ♡ [*]
He basically says "Clap your hands" in Finnish, since the band is performing originally a Finnish bands song in Finland. You probably get that Santa Cruz is also Finnish XD
Nice to see someone stuck in the same time warp as myself lol, things were just better & yeah g'n'r ripped them off not the other way around, sorry man but it's just true lol
I don't know if that automatically makes him the most talented, but to be quite honest that was a really engaging and impressive rendition, really enjoyed it. Fantastic pianist!
Are you kidding me? This is one of the best covers. Most bands change everything about the song when they cover it. At least they had the respect to Hanoi Rocks to leave it as original as possible. And it’s not easy to cover the sax solo when no one plays it. You should at least give them props for trying.
Props to these dudes for respecting Hanoi Rocks and doing a dynamite job with this cover.
And that's for damn sure. 👍
I miss the original Santa Cruz band a lot. They sound amazing 🤟🏼

No probs - check out my tutorial on "Underwater World" - th-cam.com/video/nBEiR2o4u5I/w-d-xo.html
everybody heard of them ... everybody yet every 80's guy thinks he discovered them
Right on....HR is what every glam band wants to be.
They were a superb live band. I was fortunate to see them in the 80's. It was the real deal.
This was my wedding song. My husband died from chirosis of the liver and heroin 3 years and two kids later. I’m 50 never remarried it’s his song.
I am so sorry for your loss. Keep rocking this song.
Yes! Respect... Hanoi Rocks ja most beutyfull songs.

Their guitar solos are absolutely amazing
These guys are true musicians and it is a shame that the Santa Cruz band was torn apart. I hope they can work things out. I am pretty sure they will.
they just have to...so much talent.it sucks they r not together now
Blame Archie man
Itse about Archie not Bering so nacissist
RIP RAZZ!!!!
One of the greatest songs ever
Jhonny has an awesome voice! Santa Cruz should explore It!
If there was Santa Cruz anymore...
Hopefully the rest of the band stick together, maybe get a new singer and continue making music.
Johnny
However, this singer don't think he sound bad himself at all cos he went on with 3 new guys and continue singing using Santa Cruz name after 3 other members left the band. What a joke.
Archie
That was a pretty great tribute!!

Too bad the broke up.. now Archie turned it to GnR pt 2 as the only remaining member
This reminds me back in 82 83 84, I went to the capital center in Washington DC and seen iron maiden open up for Judas priest, I remember being so excited about this music and I'm a drummer and a guitar player these guys are my hero they are a throwback to the '80s.
Bloody Brilliant Dudes.

Awesome !
This line up..the original band..is everything.
Amazing...
Fantastic
Shades of the thunder rolls in that intro
Ah man..Imagine how the internet would be freaking tf out if these guys got back together, huuuge shows and bet the tickets would be sold out in seconds only if they would come back together
高校生の頃レコードを買ったの思い出した。

awesome
Took too much of this, had too much of that
But with you I never got enough
I thought there'd never be love in my life
And that's sad 'cos when I think what I could've had
It makes me feel so bad
I smoked a lot of sky, I drank a lot of rain
Anything to ease my pain
But now your touch is all it would take
And that's a shame 'cos I can never come home again
And you're a million miles away
I'll never get a chance to hold you
So my message is the wind
I pray that it gets through to you
Loving you was so easy
And leaving you was so very hard
And now I'm living in this ocean of blue
In the corner of a prison yard I should have listened to you
Now you're a million miles away
I never get a chance to hold you
Please don't be thinking of me Please don't be thinking of me Please don't be thinking of me
Please just forget about me

Sweet Sally Yea he does mainly because of his long blonde hair hanging in his face
Nao exagera tbm nao...
🤘⚡️🤘⚡️🤘⚡️
MORE COWBELL..GOT A FEELING
Jännä kuinka Archzie esittää Razzlelle kunnianosoitukseksi nousseen kappaleen (Vince Neil kolaroi auton ja Razzle kuoli) ja Neil on Archzien esikuva
Well I don't really feel those emotiones of this song here as it was every time when Hanoi Guys has performed this, specjaly back than in the 80's.

epic
It is good when they are on Stage. Womans are safe for some time.
Do anyone knows what Archie is saying at the middle of the song? Idk the language
He basically says "Clap your hands" in Finnish, since the band is performing originally a Finnish bands song in Finland. You probably get that Santa Cruz is also Finnish XD
Archie is speaking Finnish
Thumbs up to thes fukers for playing an undered rated band song 🤝👏👌💪🤙🤘👍🤟
Lead singer looks like Andrew Woods from MLB❤
Ummmm I think I’ll miss This one...boy the little girl from Melvin Gibson alien movie has grown up!
more cowbells!
RIP RAZZLE
Hieno versio, toimii :-)
I love when he says "guitar" ahead of the solo, like he is summoning a pokemon. Super pretentious
Buena banda, buen duó de guitarras, metal!pero me hace falta genuinidad...talvez este todo hecho.Eso inspira.Pero esta fluyendo con Richie.😘saludos.
Bret michael its that?
Tää biisi ei sovi hevibändille. Hanoi on rock bändi ja vaikka tää cover onki ni ei oikeen sovi
Music of band are pretty good! But the singer.... is not good...)
P9
i am not a fan of Hanoi Rocks but i like Santa Cruz
same here
Good story
Nice to see someone stuck in the same time warp as myself lol, things were just better & yeah g'n'r ripped them off not the other way around, sorry man but it's just true lol
The extra guy is out of place.
the irony, he's the most talented of the bunch
No, he is not)
Uh... fuck no he isn't. Might I add that Johnny is a fantastic piano player in addition to playing guitar...
I don't know if that automatically makes him the most talented, but to be quite honest that was a really engaging and impressive rendition, really enjoyed it. Fantastic pianist!
These boys just jump a little too big boots true this performance. Obviously they was out of they’re league.
Зачем вы распались🛐
Jätkä osaa soittaa
Would have been a GREAT cover had Archie not fucked up the lyrics. Prison YARD... not prison CELL.
Better than original.
La parte de la cumbia no le sale bien... Hanoi suena por milles miles away mejor!!!
It would be good to learn the lyrics before trying to tackle this, especially in public.
the song was well played....
didn't like the vocals at all........
Yea good player ,vocal is hard to maintain when you play like
that ,thaught good job overall.....
K.M and Jacobj of KnotDead. 😎
Cant be fat and glam .. just cant
Sounds like a bad cover band at least the singer
Santa Cruz just butchered a classic song, stay away from Hanoi Rocks.
Are you kidding me? This is one of the best covers. Most bands change everything about the song when they cover it. At least they had the respect to Hanoi Rocks to leave it as original as possible. Terrible🤮
Ding dong your opinion is wrong
awesome
