Girls this generation are all about women empowerment yet still supporting and participating in beauty pageants in a heartbeat. Beauty pageants that promotes itself as a “platform” for confident girl yet has ridiculous criteria. I just don’t understand how flaunting your slim body wearing a bikini will make you a confident role model for other young girls to look upon too. Does that invalidate a confident girl who is disabled, doesn’t have slim body, long legs, certain height and certain facial cut? Why do we need somebody’s approval to be considered a beauty? Beauty pageant is a sham. Don’t be a Barbie girls. Be yourself. Love yourself.
