I was practicing along the lesson. In my case, the social media icons do not appear in the top bar, or header or footer.
when i drop the socials from customizer to anywhere, it does not show anything.
I am working on a local WAMP server 3.3.0, wordpress 6.1.1
I tried solutions from google, didnt help.

How to get the background image in the home page changes to take regardless of the view screen size? I changed the image but when page size is desktop it shows the sweater image and not the uploaded image.

I am a programmer (who could make my eshop from scratch but want to avoid the hassle), is woocommerce a good option? Can the code be understood (I mean well documented) and modified if needed? I am hearing people talking about how they are not finding the plugin for eactly what hey want or adding a plugin which does not work with another and simply breaks the site, what do u think?
in my experience, some plug-ins in Wordpress are buggy and sometimes get updated and mess stuff up , however being a "programmer" you should be able to lurk until you find your fit. and/or revert to your old mockup... it's pretty easy and reliable... there are so many plug-in's and themes, it will take you all week to explore and experiment... happy coding!

I was wondering about it too, so I started to try over and over again. Than I found!! Just press on the background image and WordPress will show a small tag with sections. Click on the image section (probably the first section), than stile and background overlay. I hope this helps.
I figured it out after struggling for a bit. You edit the page using the "Edit with elementor" link. The main image is actually a background image. At first I thought it was an image section and I tried adding a new image. But that showed the new image right on top of the background image which just refused to go away.
You hover your mouse over the background area. Make sure you are hovering over the background section. There are two side-by-side columns right on top of this background area. Right click to get a pop-up menu -> Edit Section -> Style tab. And hover over the image to get the trash icon. Click the trash icon to delete it. Add the + button to add a new image.
Don't forget to click Update at the bottom to save changes.

Why? Gutenberg can be extended with custom components, for free.
