What Trey does is blend the minor pentatonic, blues, dorian and mixolydian scales into a weird hybrid that works really well - obviously. So he's going between C pentatonic (C, Eb, F, G, Bb) C Blues (C, Eb, F, Gb, G, Bb) C Dorian (C, D, Eb, F, G, A, Bb) and C mixolydian (C, D, E, F, G, A, Bb). I would avoid the E naturals unless resolving your lick on them. Also, try lots of A to Bb 1/2 step bends,. Hope I was helpful.
Cmin - use: C dorian, Cmin blues/pentatonic, C Phrygian if you like to get weird = (Ab major scale)
C as in Arthur C. Clarke 😋 (minor)
C mixo (i think) sounds really good
C minor pentatonic
What are the keys for this?
