- Just wondering how many of you work to perfect your skills on any of your devices? We can get so caught up in the “BUY EVERYTHING WE SEE” or “I NEED TO UPGRADE” modes.
I believe you can use the cheapest option in your studio, to get you through until you can really afford to upgrade.
We need to learn how to get all that we can out of what we already have!

I’m a Maschine Head. I bought an Sp-404 mk 2 and a MPC-XSE and Love them, I just Love my Maschine software more because I prefer its work flow. I agree, use what you have or can afford and maximize it to the fullest. Don’t get caught up in gear shaming, just Rock what you Got👊🏾

Same here. I have a Key 61, MPC One plus and 2 Maschine mk3s. I love the Key 61 and have a lot of fun with the one plus but I can't get away from the maschine worklflow.
I love My Machine Studio and Jam, even though I have a couple of MPCs Touch, Studio, and an MV8000, which is my favorite, but the Machine Studio for chopping and sampling is unbeatable ! I HAVE several keyboard workstations, and I have maximized the use of every piece of gear that I have. Most keyboard musicians never use 25 % of their workstations! Great Video!

My go to machine is the Roland mv 8000
Really valid point to know your gear thoroughly, so that your production and flow isn’t disrupted and dictated by the gear. Great share . Salute in health.
MV-8000 is my main piece. MPC Live 2 is my #2
The first piece of gear I mastered was a Yamaha RX-5 drum machine. Currently, I am trying to master my MPC X.
Do you still have your RX-5? I still have my MPC X and I still use it to master other devices thru Midi
I am most comfortable working with GarageBand iOS. I am still trying to get the hang of the sampler on Mac OS.

Good point ppl say Im a monster on Maschine but that came from skills learned from using a broke down mpc2000 classic stock memory no light in the screen and no link. hooked to an EPS classic and a Roland xp60. The xp was the board that I learned a lot about synthesis and was able to make all type of custom sounds with. Point is I learned all my gear inside out and that’s what made the difference
That’s what I’m talkin’ bout!! I was chopping it up with a musician friend of mind about how many guitars he owns, and he said “he owns several, but he has mastered only 2.” He works on each one bit by bit until he feels a vibe/connection with it!
That’s how I think we all should be with our instruments 🎸 🥁 🎹 🫡💯
MPC X is my goto for everything. FL and my laptop for everything else, my headphones are last.
I bought some gear however I hardly ever use it because I cant be bothered to keep it clean and set up, and to slow to use. The most valuable bit of gear I have is the Novation Peak and its been criminally under used.

I started out in the box so i mastered pro tools and fl studio but since brother SKI I went from the renaissance to the 5000 a presonus studiolive mixer and an antelope audio interface and the sonic difference is evident and i appreciate the knowledge and encouragement EA SKI gives us as well.
Good to have Pro Tools knowledge 🫡
Having analog skills is very necessary as well. #KeepCreating

Good points. I am a firm believer in too much of anything creates chaos. Facts are if you know you dont use it, sell it to someone who will. Hoarding gear won't make you a great producer, using it effectively will. Salute!

My IPad using Logic Pro. Also been using MPC One Plus since April.
In 2022, I had sold most of my DJ gear…and I was transitioning into production. I had a 13” MacBook Pro a MPC One and I used Studio One. #UseWhatYouGot to get what you need! #KeepCreating 💯🫡✊🏽

@@DJDoubleEdgethe DM has a bit of a learning curve. It is slow for me because it's not just learning the gear but learning synthesis as well. I've been having the struggle not to buy more gear because I am at a point in life where I have the money for it. The whole world of modular synthesis is very interesting and Behringer makes it much more affordable. I had to grab that RD-8 MKII because I didn't want to wait too long and miss all the production runs. It is as close to a real TR-808 that I'll ever get and there is definitely a difference in the way that kick drum punches and the snare snaps compared to the samples people use in their MPCs and Maschines.
Really great video bro. These days, there are so many new VST's out there. I have become some sort of collector of software. But, I've never mastered any of it. When I did my very first album, I used Pro Tools. I mixed that entire album STOCK!!! No extra VST's. Now, I have purchased Slate Digital, SSL stuff, God Partical, UAD plugins... I have EVERYTHING... But here's what I may go back to doing, USING STOCK plugins... This week I was about to buy the OZONE 11 bundle for $300. It has all of the new stuff. And I stilllll ain't mastered NONE of them.... Terrible... But Pro Tools was the one that I masterd. The SP1200 I mastered it. The Roland XP60. Now I'm rusty.

I use my car window to access my car because i want to feel like it has something left to give. It getting me from a to b is not exciting enough for me🎉
I sold two MPC Live 2s to streamline things. The Launchkey 37, Ableton Live 12 and the Pioneer Rev 5 is all I need for the foreseeable future. If any another gear makes its way in. It would be because I fell victim to G.A.S.
