I was doing great on the McDougal plan and had even lost 40 pounds. Then I allowed ultraprocessed, nutrient empty fake "foods" back into my life. Bad decision. I'm restarting McDougal. These Sunday chats are inspirational and so needed because the mainstream media food message is completely wrong. We need our weekly dose of the McDougals to keep us on the path of health.

@@cindybrown7527 I think we have to focus on doing the McDougal plan and IGNORE all the other "nutrition experts" including the family and colleague food pushers who all say, "Just a bite of this can't hurt. Don't be so extreme. Etc." Once my brain's dopamine high from ultraprocessed foods is lit up all I want are ever increasing amounts of ultraprocessed, nutritionally bankrupt foods. I also got a bit cocky thinking I could speed up my weight loss by eating less which left me very hungry and open to temptation. Doug Lisle's The Pleasure Trap book does a good job of explaining my ultraprocessed foods experiences. This time I am making a vow to McDougal for 1 year. I'm not getting on the scale until 1 year has passed because anytime I see no loss or small loss I want to use it as a reason to quit. I'm going to weigh on morning of day 1 and again on day 365.

Dr. MacDougall’s “Why Did Steve Jobs Die” video, that showed up in my TH-cam feed (probably because I was searching computers), opened my eyes to the wisdom of going vegan, back in 2012.
He made such a clear, compelling case, that overnight, from one day to the next, I went vegan. No “meatless Mondays”. Rather, I jumped right in.
Over a decade later, people tell me I look 20 years younger than my age, especially when I don’t see someone for a few years, and the difference is more obvious.
    Because IT’S THE FOOD!
This man not only saved a lot of lives, but as important, he dramatically improved the quality of life for many!

Thanks for another interesting and informative session. Regarding silica water may I remind listers or inform those who missed it, Dr. McDougall mentioned in previous videos bamboo tea and horsehair/horsetail tea (or a similar name, it's vegan as it's a herb) as sources of silica which helps remove aluminum from the body. As soon as I heard that I looked on Amazon, found both and ordered bamboo tea as it's much lower priced (and soon I learned it has far more silica) and have it once or twice every day. Thanks to you all for the valuable information.
Also while I was well aware of cow's milk blocking absorption of dietary iron i didnt know of the fact that even supplements didn't work for some until the milk was stopped. Thanks for that knowledge too. Shall share that with some of my compatriots who you must be knowing are absolutely obsessed with dairy milk and its products, clearly and irrefutably ideal and essential food for all humans. Regards and good wishes.

Missed the live a few weeks ago have not been feeling so well just went and had an echocardiogram done. Getting a CT scan done later today. Won’t find out results till next week. Went to leave my doctors office now on a very high prescription of vitamin D because unfortunately not eating any dairy products, I have no vitamin D in my body and it’s caused a massive issue. Not sure what’s going on with my chest pains now because my blood pressure is astronomical through the roof, Doctor said they were gonna let me leave today but I up and left anyways cause I’ve got another appointment this afternoon. My entire blood pressure was 270/180. I don’t know what the hell is going on. I think they thought I was having a heart attack. I just have chest pains!hoping to find out some results next week supposedly I’m deficient in a lot of different vitamins now not sure really what to do but I had peanut butter one of my favorite snacks

Heat surgery for sure saved my life. 12 years ago, I was brought to the hospital and had no more than about a week to survive. ONLY OPEN HEAT SURGERY could save my life and not change of life style. It was too late to try anything but operate and save my life. Everything else, life food and life style was important, but only after the surgery. Be careful when you recommend people to reject advise they may need an operation.

I love everything you do Dr. McDougall but 😬 I hate when you talk politics. Some of us are republicans and we can tell you are throwing jabs and unfortunately some will turn this off and miss so much because they hear one thing that puts them in a box. I do realize we all have the right to share our opinions or thoughts but when ppl make anything about religion or politics some stop at the door and don’t even listen to the facts. Religion and politics are not facts they are opinions. I love all of your medical advice! Thank you for always teaching us!

Dr. McDougall is one of the very few doctors who doesn't lie to their patients or the public! That's a rare quality and so very valuable! In my opinion, that made him more valuable than gold. Why can't all the other physicians just tell the truth instead of being so focused on getting rich?? That's why i don't trust most modern doctors, they are failures to me. McDougall could be trusted!
