Nice. Being an old fart from Texas you have no idea how many times I saw these guys in the 70's. Required attendance. Billy Gibbons. One of a kind. Used to see him when they were relatively unknown at the Texas Opry House in Houston. Haven't seen them in decades. I gotta make a point to do that. He just doesn't tear it up like he used to. Actually one of the greatest blues guitarists ever. Show biz ya' know. Just rakin' in the cash now. I don't really recognize this ZZ. Gibbons was a true badass back in the day. They went total 'commercial/pop' and I lost interest somewhere along the way. Rio Grande Mud was an eye opener for me, then Tres Hombres...was...a game changer. Nothing could top that. It was their zenith, like Exile on Mainstreet was for the Stones. After that....pop music. It's the formula. Once you find it, you stick with it. Can't blame a man for making a living. I miss the the late great Johnny Winter, another great Texas blues picker. He never went 'commercial'. His brother did for sure but Johnny was a hard old school blues knocker. Lots of great Texas blues pickers. Other than Dennis Miller, who states this fact all the time, not many people realize this, even in Texas. The Lone Star state has churned out a bizarre amount of great blues and rock and roll over the decades. Country as well. The list is near frickin' endless. Your welcome.
