Thank you for this. I'm not jewish myself but I lived much of my life in the US and have very close jewish friends - they are very much against Israel's politics. One jewish man I knew was in Gaza during the 2nd intifada and went in ambulances with Palestinians to keep the Israeli soldiers from shooting at them. And Jon Stewart reports more sympathetically about Palestine than anyone else on American tv. It is not about ethnicity, it's about knowledge, and what your parents tell you growing up.
No one cares man fuck Palestine you don't have to bring this shit up everywhere you move. You don't see Jon Stewart going around screaming fuck Hamas. This is the difference between Jews and you guys.
I wish both of them were back. Watching them laughing and cracking jokes gives a warm feeling about how two seemingly opposite cultures can come to a common point, share the ideas and try to understand each other.

I like John Steward and I heard of Bassem Youssef during Arab Spring- not sure if it is already summer or winter there now, but this one was really funny! I was watching some of JS's clips on TH-cam and ended up here. I got to watch Bassem Youssef for the first time. He is pretty good; and they were great together.

I just started reading "Revolution for Dummies - Laughing through the Arab Spring" by Bassem Youssef ("The Jon Stewart of Egypt.") It's terrific combination of hilarity, fear & the sadnessof the exile. Youssef also has an uncanny understaning of American culture. Highly recommended.
