i had to do something similar to this in uni. it was a terrible project since it took so long! on the inside edges, we used strips of paper to glue to hold the pieces together better. also we used cardboard bits as spacers for the inside. glad to see this project again :)
"Be very generous... 'Cause I'm a generous kind of guy." Ha. I totally didn't even think about the spacer for the blocks though! I always had each cardboard side connecting, kinda like papercraft patterns. Good way to keep it reinforced. Thanks for the vid!
hey wes.did you know that if you use "tacky glue" it holds cardboard together much faster. and also if you use regular glue, an easy way to get it to hold is to put the glue on and then let it dry for a few seconds or so with a fan and then stick it on, then it'll help with it sticking together also. but i prefer to use artist tape or blue painters tape to hold the cardboard together because once the finish project is dried, you can easily peel it off without leaving any type of sticky residue.
Water colors work best on paper. So, if you want to color your creation, use newspaper to wrap around the outside of the cardboard and then color over the newspaper.
Hi Wes! I love white glue too. But I use wood glue when putting the edges of a card board together. It has the same consistency as white glue but dries faster. You should try it some time. :)
Wes look so gentle and diligent while doing his work~ its like he'll be nice sweet and loyal to whoever he's gonna date or marry ~ lucky girl~ *yes i;m judging a book by its cover~*
i love arts and craft, i always wanted to stay in art class when i was a child so when i started high school i would take random things like paper clips, paper, erases, ect and make things lol then get in trouble for it.
This is really cool, now I can make great decorations without paying a bunch of money :D yay lol and wes your so patient, I would probably be up using hit glue because I'm not patient enough to use white glue .. -.-
So i found myself just staring away at his beautiful hands, and then I started thinking "wow.... he just has the perfect skin tone". The things I learn during art videos....
Tacky glue works a LOT better than white glue! We never used white glue in studio when we were building models cause it was too weak and watery, thus took too long to dry :)
The trick to using white glue is waiting for the glue to be almost transparent before sticking them together Wes! so you dont have to wait 20mins/1 hour with it to dry. But oh well, i guess waiting made the video more interesting. :/
Glad you enjoyed it! Stay tuned for more!
Glad you enjoyed!
Newspaper is suggested towards the end, if you wish to papier mache the blocks for a smoother finish.
