    There is only one reason why my rzr cost 25k. There is plenty of people of people willing to pay it. The cost of manufacturing utvs is by far cheaper than that of cars and trucks. The reason I went with a rzr is it less expensive to repair.

      Brandon schulz Brandon schulz tony's 100% correct. Cost to produce a rzr turbo s is somewhere under $11,000. That's including materials as well as labor. Cost is what it is because the market is supporting it. Supply & demand. The cost for a base crew cab model f150 is nearly 28k with a V6 in it. Cost to manufacture is roughly $15k. There's actually less man hours into building the ford, but when the UAW insists the guy cleaning the toilets make $35/hr...overhead tends to go up.

  • @KTMcaptain

    It’s not a locked rear differential. It’s a spool. You guys really need to educate yourself on these topics you’re trying to “teach” others on.
    Spools have zero differential action. While locked differentials do. Detroit style can uncouple to allow for different rpm output and elockers can disengage. Spools will always force the same rpm. Huge difference.
    Also, lockers and spools are substantial because they dynamically send torque to the wheel with the most traction. If one wheel is on ice or in the air, then the other wheel will get all the available torque from the axle until you send more torque than it can transmit. Traction control operates off the limits of the differential, which is usually open and that means torque flows through one wheel with less traction in difficult situations and the brakes artificially change traction levels to get the wheels with better traction more torque. They don’t simultaneously send torque to both wheels all the time.

    • @michaelswiger2341

      Firestarter no on RZR’s both diffs are always locked

    • @ROTAXD
      @ROTAXD 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michael Swiger there's only one diff on a rzr and no, it's not always locked. The rear has no planetary gears to speak of. It has a ring and pinion. The ring gear is fastened directly to the axle. For every revouloution of said ring gear, BOTH rear tires will rotate one time. The front differential is most certainly NOT locked. Were it locked, the machine would handle like dogsh!t when in 2wd, and it would still handle like dogsh!t when in 4wd. The front diff is a limited slip.

    • @MDKN22
      @MDKN22 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These guys are mainly inclined on automobiles. I will give them credit because they are expanding content. Though I will say that the offroad should be left to that Canadian guy, but give it some time for them to learn how an ATV works.

    • @KTMcaptain
      @KTMcaptain 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Asphalt8ficionado they make a lot of mistakes on road vehicles as well. For instance, they claim the tundra has a limited slip differential when it doesn’t. A-LSD is a marketing term for open differential with brake actuated traction control. The differential itself cannot split torque and yet they consistently claim it is an lsd.
      They’re good at monitoring fuel economy on hills, but even that make make too much emphasis on low end torque when none of those engines operate at 1800/1900 rpm going up their pass.
      Then they drive two 4x4s up a hill, one goes up easily and the other they have to demonstrate Newton’s 1st law to make it up... then they claim they both passed. Take the same line, same speed, and if one fails let it fail.

    • @ROTAXD
      @ROTAXD 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Firestarter not sure about toyota, but a true limited slip diff is most certainly NOT brake actuated.

  • @ROTAXD
    @ROTAXD 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    First of all, that rzr doesn't have a locked rear diff. It has no diff at all, it's running a spool as are most sxs. The only companies I know of who have an open lockable rear diff is polaris (general 1000 & certain rangers) and cf moto. Second, why did you even bother with the second test ?

    This has been a known Fact that Polaris has the best AWD system in the UTV industry, but next try out the Can-Am Maverick X3 X-RC (Rock Crawler) with their NEW Smart-Lok system. Can-Ams are known as the 3 wheeler of the 4 wheeled UTVs, but Can-Am says the new Smart-Lok front diff will get you out of situations. But RZRs are still better. And its pronounced "Razor" not "R·Z·R". I wish y'all would stick to Truck testing because you are so far behind with your knowledge of the UTV Industry. I'm giving your video a 👍 only because the RZR is the best at what it does in AWD.

      Mid_South_RZR I've driven an X-RC and when she's locked, she's locked. Whether they'll stay together only time will tell.
