  • Namaskara,
    In this video Dirt Don, Auto Rama and I ride the 4 generations of Himalayan motorcycles to understand the evolution of this adventure touring segment creating motorcycle from Royal Enfield.
    Also we ride to understand if over the last 5 years Royal Enfield has genuinely improved the quality & refinement of this model.
    Hope you enjoy watching this video as much as we did making it.
    Cheers!

    Absolutely loved this honest appraisal and review of the 411 Himalayan line up.
    I've just ordered one of the 'last' production 411's before the 452 replaces it.
    TBH (not because I've ordered the last model 411) I actually prefer the visual design of the 411. The 452 is moving towards conventional Japanese design.
    The 411 Himalayan is so unique, so simple, iconic and groundbreaking.
    I'm genuinely honoured and appreciative to soon own, the last model 411. A pinnacle of design and positive modification.

    I own the bs3 version . And got to tell ya , i was never a fan of adventure bikes . But my idea of riding has changed . You can take this bike anywhere and still have fun pulling the throttle . Bs3 has more grunt to it compared to the recent models. The only two things that i think the bike lacks is , tubeless tyres and the second one would be that the bike feels boring and noisy when doing 100 or above on highways .

    • @bigbearbangalore
      @bigbearbangalore  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! The Himalayan opened up the light weight affordable adventure touring in India. And the BS3 is quicker than all subsequent variants. Tube type is a bummer and the motorcycle could lose about 20 kgs!

    This was the first I watched yours bosky, wonderful description of the whole lot of the Himalayan's metamorphosis. I mean it was like you guys just got us into how evolution of Himalayan took place and well justified.
    I have already booked a granite black and I too have some goodies i wish to get in their next upgrade. 5-8 ps of extra power by getting larger bore like one on klr650 with 100 mm and see how much it churns out. Don't you feel it deserves bit more into it. Slipper and assist clutch, tubeless tyres, combined instrument cluster and not those scattered assymetrical circle and much better suspension. So would love to know from you guys if these goodies would be a mere dream or we can anticipate for the same..?

    • @bigbearbangalore
      @bigbearbangalore  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! Glad that you liked the video. Thanks for words of appreciation.
      Congrats on your booking and wish you the best.
      Yes all the things you have mentioned would be welcome on the Himmer. But likely will remain a dream 😊
      There are a couple of things that we can do to get more from the BS6 though I cannot comment on the legality or the warranty implications it may have.
      Installing Excel aluminium rims with Outex kit will dramatically improve handling and of course make it a tubeless set up. Rotating mass weight reduction has a significant impact on the handling. I had Excel rims on my Himmer and the motorcycle behaved very differently to the stock one.
      Plus a free flow air filter and a piggy-back ECU can boost performance by about 2 BHP.
      And that is about what can be reasonably done without getting into major engine technical changes.
      Hitchcock’s Motorcycle UK makes a big bore kit for the Himmer but costs a fat packet but that will boost BHP and torque that the rider can actually feel.
      Cheers!

    Sir !! Another kick to the groin of flashy youtubers 😂😂😂. Please stay like this always. Simple and simple!
    But an important input that you didn't discuss, there's no manual bistarter in the bike, it fast idles on its own now. Would help during cold starts and prevent stalling that was happening due to the restricted emission norms.
    I have got mine delivered just yesterday and on close inspection I feel the throttle body is new as well (rumours are there already). Also conset refinements rumours as well that greasing is now water resistant etc etc.

      @bigbearbangalore  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! Congrats on your new ride.😊 There are subscribers to all kinds of content and that’s what make TH-cam what it is.
      Cold starting is a bit of a pain with the BS6. Until the engine gets really warm there is a chance that the engine can stall. Guess we have to get used to it and work with it. And yes we missed discussing that, thanks for highlighting. Yes there appears to be some changes in the fueling system and intake but choosing not to get too technically involved for now. Thanks much for your comment. Cheers!

    • @deveshsharma_mountainshrink

      @@bigbearbangalore the cold start is already performing great. I had test rode the previous bs6 in November with ambient temperatures around 8-12 degrees in Shimla (the bike stalled like crazy for 6_7 minutes) and temperature is still the same here at Shimla and the new one didn't stall even once. Good video sir. Is there any way to increase the mileage of bs3 from 19 to atleast 23-25? Also my fuel guage is showing more fuel on side stand and less fuel when straight. The Service center guys said its normal.but its not.

    • @bigbearbangalore
      @bigbearbangalore  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Thanks. Increasing mileage is tricky without sacrificing somewhere else. You can try a smaller main jet, say a 117 size. But you may experience other issues but worth a try cos sometimes it may just workout. The fuel indicator level changing on side stand is normal cos that’s how the fuel float switch responds to changing fuel levels when the bike is leaned over. Cheers!
