people dont understand that 4c hair long looks different than 4c hair short its seems kinkier and "nappier" shorter lengths but once its gains significant length its totally different. the longer your hair the more the curls stretch and 4c curls/coils tends to become wavy but the actual feel( physical texture) is different than of looser curls
Danielle Iman I've heard that before, that, 4c hair looks different when longer and healthier. You brought up some interesting points and you elaborated, clearly, too. Thanks, so much:)
Danielle Iman 4c hair does not hang and swing with length. 4c hair doesnt become 3c with length nor wavy nor lose coil. it does not blow in the wind or change personality with length. she might be in the 3a. 4c twists dont even twist like that. key fact 4c hair unlike all other types has a zero natural inherited water content. all hair types can be moisturized but the natural internal water content cannot change or be imitated, this makes 4c hair weightless at any length it will grow up not down and out nor hang but will pack in tight.
Danielle Iman th-cam.com/play/PLAk7p7L0vSkMgY9t-r0Qo_LbTsgDhtbgg.html these r 4c hair youtubers it will never hang no matter how much u moisturize 4c hair has a nutural inherent zero water content which makes its weight less which is why 4c is on the end of the spectrum. her hair is 3b it has a higher water content in addition to being moisturized thats why it blows hangs and swings. 4c need berettes to swing.it doesnt even droop or swing when wet
My foster sister has 4c hair. For me, a Dutch girl with straight hair it's really hard to do her hair because I'm not used to it. It's a struggle but with video's like this I have hope I can do a decent hairstyle for her someday. I'm going to practise 😊
That's good you are trying to learn because if it was vice versa for me I will have to learn how to do your type of here there's nothing wrong with that... as a matter of fact I had to learn how to do my own type of hair because for years I was not taking care of my hair properly straight Nicole's this that this nothing wrong with learning
Te if only some of these videos were out via projector when our parents were doing our hair for some of us older ones.. my hair was very long but I hate it getting it straightened
Thank you sweetie... I'm past 50 and had always desired to have long hair. I envy you young gals getting the information today. Wish I had all the knowledge in 1974 when I was younger. But now I can grow it so thanks again for the info...God bless!!!
I get so angry when I read negative comments under people videos, its sad that they would take the time and energy to put fourth time to down ones information.... WOW!!! I am addicted to watching hair videos and I love to comment on things that were helpful to encourage and compliment. its not easy to put these videos out for us with all the editing, that stuff takes time!!! I also have ran into videos that are nonsense but I just move on to the next why cant all do the same?!?!? if its not helpful to you there is no need for your negative comment IM JUST SAYING!!.... BY THE WAY I LOVE THIS VIDEO IT WAS VERY IMFORMATIVE
Monica Davis Hi Monica! I know, girl. Unfortunately, negative comments come with the territory. Everybody, is not going to agree nor approve of our videos. I have learned how to deal and respond with negative comments. As long as, I receive the love and support from people who receives my information valuable, that's all I care about. Honestly, I need the negative comments, because, in a strange way, they help me with building a better channel. I know, it sounds strange. I appreciate you taking the time out to commenting and watching my videos. Your comment and support makes me feel good. It reminds me to keep moving forward. Thanks, so much;)
I agree. People should just move on to the next video instead of bashing others but those negative haters are just motivators. By the way, your hair is beautiful!
I'm laughing so hard, because I decided to use olive oil, and the oil was all over the back of my neck and blazer collar. To make matters worse I was at a job meeting. 😨 Blue magic I'm coming back.
you're right on point with how 4C hair reacts to a twist out or puff. My entire head is 4C 0_0...it's a struggle but I definitely wet and slather with conditioner to combat it lol
I know how you feel. 4C hair is tough. I want it to be longer but I can barely keep my three inches moist. I've tried damn near everything. I'll put moisturizer in it in the morning only for it to need more after lunch. Lord I just feel like cutting it all off...again.
You're so pretty!!!! I mean natural beauty for real. Thank you for the down home video. You keep it real. It's like you're sitting right here with me. Keep'em coming.
Your video is so helpful and enlightening. 4c is the most brittle and breaks the most. I have a mixture of 4c & 4a. I have 2 twist my hair every night or the back is a mess and I have to spray with leave in conditioner and mist oil and stretch out detangle with my fingers. I where twist outs becuz I just am not good with braiding or twisting and I can't go to the shop every month. Twist outs are the easiest when I don't go to the shop I just make sure I use a deep moisturizer conditioner, hair prorein, and moisture my hair while I'm styling. I then noticed a little growth
kapparhotau181 Thank you! You know what? You have to do what's best for you. It's okay to take care of your hair, they way you do. Your hair is going to grow, regardless. Sounds like to me, you are doing a great job:)
This was very helpful. I've been struggling with my daughter's hair. She is 10 years old. And she has type 4C hair. It does not have a curl pattern, but it is course and hard to manage at times. I was blowing it out at every wash just to manage it. That's what I believe is making her hair pop. I used heat protectors always. I wash it every 2-3 weeks so heat is not being used often. I just couldn't figure out why it stopped growing. When she was 2-7 her hair was long and strong and thick. Now it's popping out of control. I'm trying to get it back on track. I'm going to try this method with her hair.
love that you talk back to your fans. lots of people never answer questions like you do. your hair is especially beautiful. i just came out of 6 years of dreds and have to grow another head of hair. starting a regiment today thanks to you.
smokeyab920 Thank you! I love replying to my comments. I'm going to continue, to do so, for as long as I can. Wow! 6 years of dreds, gone? Yeah, you are starting another journey. I'm happy, I am an inspiration to you. Happy Healthy Hair Journey and I appreciate your compliment:)
Oh my goodness this video was literally so helpful .. and your soo funny and you dont even try (thats good) ! P.S. I'm getting sick of everybody telling you how your hair is ... as if you dont know your hair texture .... but thanks girl !!!
Thank you! I'm a goofball at times and sometimes, I don't realize, I'm being funny. I'm just being, myself. I know, what you mean, about, people, saying, what my hair type is. It's okay, though. It's all in fun. We all agree, that, these 10 tips, still helps, regardless, if my hair is 4c or not. You are so welcome:) #healthyhairgrowing
Hi AJoan! Girl! I thought, that hair was the kinkiest in the world. It's hard to believe, that, there is hair kinkier, than, that, but, then again, nawl. I knew, this one lady and her starter dread locs, locked up, really quick; like 2-3 months or so. I'm happy, you all told me, what that hair was, though. In the end, these ten tips still worked. Yeah! I learned the hard way, about, not combing my hair, while dry. Breakage! Thanks, for comment and compliment:)
I hate categorizing peoples hair because it's inaccurate. When our hair is short, its kinkier but as it gets longer it gets heavier which loosen's the curly pattern. My hair is exactyly like hers and it can encompass all the hair types...A B C D E F...lol.
It is really great that Nezi mentioned the effect of afro and afro-puff styles on 4C hair. I suffered much breakage due to wearing this style too often. I tried to see if others had this experience and could not find any mentions. I knew this was happening to me though. Finally, someone was willing to point this out. Thanks!
Thank you for this video . Very informational & detailed. Lots of natural bloggers don't target a 4C hair audience at all & it not easy to keep up with them . This really helps because I'm also experiencing breakage, with not much growth in my 100% 4C hair & I don't know what to do with it most of the time.
I can relate to the first tip. I flat iron my hair once a year and last November when my hair started to revert back, I told myself I would trim it before washing. When I looked into the mirror and saw that "see through" at the ends, that trim turned into over 5 inches of hair cut off. My hair is SO much better now. :)
Dang!!! Over 5 inches?!!! Yep! That was a cut vs. a trim, but, it sounds like it was much needed. Shoot! Before you know it, your hair will be back, faster, thicker and longer. That's how I got started. See through hair, will stagnate and never be healthy or grow. Go for you! Now, let your journey begin:)
Yes I finally found someone with the hair texture like mine. i also have that same issue with the front being longer and the back shorter thank you. Please make some more videos.
Thank you for the explanation on how to care for that area of my hair. My 4C is from temple to ear and about 1 inch in depth. It does everything that you explained in the video. The breakage is between the front which is 4B and the temple. My stylist says it is baby hair. Yes it is cute and curly but when it gets to the temple to the ear it is dull and no sheen. Crown is 3B it coils. From the ear (once you get past the 4C area) to the back of my nape is 4A.
I hope, these tips can help you. Having different textures of hair, can be challenging. That's why, sometimes, we have broken hair in some areas, vs the other, areas. I don't know, if that is baby hair or not. If you give that particular hair, some good tlc and it starts, growing, then, it's probably not baby hair. It could be, broken off hair.Time will tell. Thanks, for commenting:)
you're hair is really soft. you may have trained it well but 4c hair like mine will have kitchens and is much harder to grow because the kinks pop if you try to comb it out too much
I have the same hair as you Nezi! You were reading my mind lol. I used to put the Satin cap on without doing my hair up. I did my hair wet and keep the 4C hair together and it worked like a charm. I slack a bit by not doing anything, we just moved. The products I use is Shea Moisture line of Hibiscus and Coconut Milk. I usually do wash n go's and when I do it always shrinks extra in the back and when I leave it out for the day products dry out and it look frizzy. I kept drenching with more products think it just was stubborn hair but you just opened my eyes about 4C hair. Wow, and the damage is back there all the time. New subbie and I can't wait for my hair in the middle and back grow!!!
Real talk! That's how the middle section of my hair broke off! I always slept on it out and I would wake up with it matted down on my head, that's where my texture is coiled the tightest and most brittle too!
Really? I had to learn the hard way, not, to do that. We have to protect our hair, all the time. Our hair is super fragile. I hope, some of these tips, helps. Thanks, for commenting:)
Its about winter time, so I'm thanking God I came across this video. Thank you Nezi for what you and people like you are doing to help others manage 4c hair
Okwuchi Emerole You are so welcome. I appreciate you and your comment. It's nice to know I've helped people who has struggles with their kinky textured hair, regardless, of their hair type.
Your tips are great and your reasoning is spot on!! 4c hair must be treated like a piece of silk lol. That said, it kinda sucks that we can't enjoy our hair like other naturals. How do you style your hair, then, if you don't wear those styles?
Thanks, Maya! Honestly, I don't style my hair. The way you saw it in this video, is usually, how I wear it. I don't like dealing with my hair, too much, when it's in this state. Which is, why, it's in such good condition. I am going to start doing some heated styling, such as, roller sets and blow drying. That way, I won't be frustrated, as much.
Thank you so much. I have been thinking the same thing and could not put it together. I knew all of these things. I combed out my locks and realized that the 4C hair needs to be together. My hair grows best and fastest when the same "types" are placed together.. Thank you for confirming all of the tips!!!! Your hair is beautiful
Had to watch this classic video again for some pointers. (Splayed out 🤣🤣🤣) listened to it about 3 years ago and it helped my W hair to reach bra strap however it continued to be thin in the middle. Although I had given the middle a nice cut and kept it braided together I don't think I went deep enough into it. Last week and I did like you said and cut pretty deep into the damaged hair hopefully this time at bra strap length it'll be full in the middle.
I came across your channel today. Has anyone told you, you are funny? I laughed so much at "greasy baby" and it is soooo true! Your video was definitely insightful. I have 4C hair except unlike you my whole head is 4c.
Alex B Hi Alex! Yes! I hear, alot, that I am funny, even, when I don't try to be. I didn't think anything about, "greasy baby," but, people like it, when I said that. It is funny when I look back on it. My mommy and auntie used to grease, me and my cousins up and called us greasy babies. Girl! We was greasy! I really appreciate your comment, compliment and support. I'm happy:)
***** I "beelee" dat! My grandmom was heavy handed when it came to greasing as well. So I definitely relate to "greasy baby!" You are most welcome! I enjoyed the video.
Hi Nezi, a while back I watched this video because my hair was barely growing. I have always done things like protein treatments and not combing or styling dry hair but nothing seemed to help. After watching the video I noticed that my twists were thick but got thinner as they got to the end so I took your advice at cut off about 2-3 inches of the thin parts. I was worried because I wanted to retain length. However, it's been about 2 months since I cut the ends and my hair has grown back longer than it was before the cut. Thank you so much for helping me realize that the thin, old ends were starving my new hair.
Hi Lauren and thanks, for letting me know that you've tried some of my tips. It makes me happy to know that I've helped someone. A lot of us are so worried about length, to where, we'd rather have long damaged hair, than to have, short healthy hair. Then, we wonder how come our hair is not growing nor improving. Having a fresh start of trimmed or cut ends is the key, to a great start to a healthy, hair journey. I'm also happy, that, you've seen length retention, but, you didn't tell me if you have seen thickness at the ends of your hair, since, you cut 2 to 3 inches off. I know, you do see it and I bet, your overall health of your hair looks and feel better since your cut. Thanks, Lauren. I appreciate you watching, commenting and supporting me. and keep up the good work:)
Thank you! I'm happy to be of an inspiration to you. That's how I stayed inspired, too. That's why it's called a journey. You have up and downs, until, you've reached your goal. Stay inspired:)
I love your videos. You keep it 99.9% real. I have different textures and problems with growing my hair. I believe the new products ive been using has thinned my hair out. I'm going back to water and grease
Erica Shell Thank you! Sometimes, it is best to go back to basics. You'll get it together. The key is to develop a hair regimen and learn what your hair, likes and dislikes. It took me about 2 years to figure things out and develop a regimen that works.
Thanks, so much! It took some years to get here, but, I finally achieved my goal. With my healthy, hair care regimen and patience, it finally, paid off. BTW! I love your username:)
I can relate so well with you sister.. Before cutting my perm completely out of my head I began researching natural hair care since I had basically dived literally head 1st into this type of lifestyle. I was still combing my hair in its dry state and applying grease --which to this day is a no no in my hair care regimen. I found out about finger detangling, coconut oil, hair butters, baggying I began misting my hair with water and it started growing like a revived plant. I found out that having a routine regimen instead of just looking for a hairstyle played a key factor in helping me grow thicker, healthier 4c hair than when I was permed. Wearing my hair in an afro for longer than a few hours is enough to make my kinks draw up and dry out. I live in scarves because it keeps my hair clean and holds in more moisture than wearing it out. I also am known to rock twists and braids but like you I don't prefer to go to twist outs afterwards as it is a cute style but only last so long before my hair is back dry and the twist out has formed single strand knots.
Josyn Keith We do have something in common. We both just went in, feet first. lol As you say, though, learning what to do with our hair, makes a world of difference. I guess we had to go through trials and tribulations to get to where we are, today. Your hair sounds very juicy, moisturized and safe. Having dry, tangling hair causes breakage. Once we realized, that certain products and styles do not work for us, we knew to stay away from them. We stood by things that worked for hair. Everybody loves twist outs and braid outs, everyday, but, my hair doesn't.
I do the same thing! Right this moment, my hair is in semi-chunky braids pulled into a loose bun. I tend to keep my hair in braids and twists and I moisturize almost exactly the same way. I use a homemade mango butter concoction that lasts for over a week.
Hi Cortney. My hair is always twisted or braided and not so stylish. I used to style my hair, but, I fell out of that mode. The way you see my hair in this video, is how I usually, wear it. Sometimes, I may put my twist in ponytail or ponyball. I'm going to start styling, my hair, again.
That's not 4c hair in the back I have 4c hair. You look to have 4a hair. What you are probably dealing with is a dry patch. I have 4c hair but in the back of my head my hair seems to be 6d. LOL it's super dry and hard to moisturize. I don't know if it's scab hair from old relaxer burns or a old cow lick but it's extremely fragile. It tangels easily and when I try to untangle it I have a string or two to pull out from the roots. That's not shedding. I can feel the hairs pull out. When I had a relaxer that dry patch would break almost down to the skin. Said all that to say I think we're dealing with something similar.
So, did you see my video, called, Can you see my 4c hair? Cause, my subbies were like, uh nooooooo! You do not have 4c hair. I made a video response to, that video. I have 6d hair, too. lol
Yeah I watched "Can you see my 4c hair? also I watched "My 4c video response/My thoughts and conclusion" Both after I saw this one. Sorry so slow. I'm a recent subbie. You have beautiful hair whatever it is. It's apparent you take very good care of it. I've only been natural since Feb 9th I think that was the date. I actually went natural Jan. 21st 2013 then texturized June 21st cause I was in shock with my 4c/g hair. Must have thought I was gone fool somebody. LOL! Anyway I'm here now to stay.I only have about 3 inches stretched to work with so it's afro's and one big puff for me. I'm gonna start making video's when I can get a better camera. I'd like to document my natural journey on yt. Oh I love you videos they are funny and informative.
Okay! Thanks, for watching all of those videos. I do take, good care of my hair. Now, I need to work on my body, but, that's another story. lol Yeah, seeing your natural hair for the first time, can be a shock. Learning, how to deal with it, can be a shock. Combing it can be a shock. Natural hair is shocking, for some newbies, but, eventually, it gets easier. 3 inches of natural hair is a nice amount. You can do some things with it. When you get setup for YT videos, make sure you let me know, so I can sub. I need to see your 4c hair and how, you are going to take care of it. I would love to follow your journey. Thanks, for liking my videos:)
Hi Nezi....OMG, I cannot tell you how much I have been blessed by finding your channel today and especially with your 10 tips outlined in this video. I have 4 c hair exactly the same place in my head as yours. I never believed there was anyone else out there that had the same problem i have. I just cut the ends off there just this past weekend and I just didnt know how to care for it for it to grow. The sides and front of my hair grow at a rapid rate. I am on a healthy journey, yes, i would like to retain length, but the health is the most important to me. I had dropped off the wagon in taking care of my hair for a while and became a product junkie. But now, I would like to try your regimen to see if I can make the back as healthy as the front and sides. I tried mini twists, loose twists and always am trying to protect my ends as much as possible, but nothing seems to work. I am so grateful to God I found your channel. I dont have a channel, just yet. But hopefully one day I can get as brave as you to make channel. I braid up my hair every night before going to bed, but i dont saturate with water, only damp it then seal with an oil and braid up. I do exercise alot though and I sweat alot. So i air my hair out before i actually go through this process. I Henna to cover my greys. So i just now started a regimen of deep conditioning on a weekly basis. So I definitely will be trying your hair regimen. Will keep you posted on how it is going. I do need to purchase some of the items you suggested, so I will be getting those hopefully by next week. Love your videos, keep up the good work. YOU HAVE DEFINITELY GIVEN ME HOPE FOR MY HAIR. Peace and Love! K
Hi Karen, People told me, my hair is not 4c in the back. However, I know it's thicker, rougher and harder to manage and that's how I came up, with my tips. My tips got that hair to thrive and be strong. A lot of us have different textures in our hair and we don't know how to take of them. We get frustrated and sometimes, quit, causing, our hair to break and lose thickness. I use to try, everything, too, (so I thought) and nothing seem to work. So, I can relate. I would love for you to keep my posted, on your progress and if you decide to have your own channel, let me know, so I can subscribe. If you start, now, you can show, other naturals, how you are getting your hair, healthy. It would be a great inspiration, to others:) Thanks, for you lovely comment. Comments, like this, encourages me to continue:)
Sorry did not mean anything bad. The 4C hair it may be working on May be a blend like yours. I looked at your picture on the video before it began and got excited because your "4C" hair looked so great...but then realized that it was only the small area in the back. I have tried tips you gave before. My entire head is 4C and dry...but I did find someone on TH-cam with similar head of hair. And it is good that people are benefitting...often our hair is a blend and spectrum.
I couldn't agree with you more about the after effects of twist outs, braid outs, wash n go etc. Yes, they are pretty hairstyles but I learned that I can only wear them for a few days before they become tangled and a disaster to comb. Your hair is beautiful!
....so glad I found you. This tutorial is what I've been trying to find on other channels but nobody seemed to address hair issues such as having multiple "type hair", brands of protein treatment & how to use them etc. THANKYOU!!
Even though we have different hair types, I have some of the same problems you have. My hair is kinkier at the crown and much shorter than the rest from breakage, so this helps!! I just like watching you, your accent is so cute and you're so down to earth. Great video, thanks! :)
minichris11 Thank you! I am happy, these tips and information, can help you in your journey. As far as, my accent. Girl! That's, that, St. Louis talk. lol And, according to people here, I speak, proper or like a white girl. It's funny. lol I appreciate your comment and compliment:)
My subbies say, I am not 4c, but more 4a and 4b. We had a discussion on it and now, I see what, they are saying. I'm going to add a video link to this video, now, so I won't confuse, anybody. Thanks, for commenting. Your comment reminded me to add the link, on this video. In the end, my tips still work, for 4a, 4b and 4c:)
Thanks, girl. I just put it on the video, but, it is at the end of the video. I didn't want to distract, anybody, from the video. Also, the link is in the description box, below, this video. Another way to see my videos, click on my username. It will bring you to all of my videos and my channel. The name of the video is called, Can you see my 4c hair | Texture and Hair Type. th-cam.com/video/VdOvsPBDv-g/w-d-xo.html I just added the link, here. Also, I have a video response, to that video, letting people know my thoughts and conclusion.
Aw, I didn't know that. Honey, I was going by the kinks and naps, of it all. It feels, like, I have 6 DDD, back there. lol If we have similar hair, then, your hair is beautiful, too:)
Hi Sanya and you are, so welcome. I'm happy, some of my tips will help you. It took me a long time to figure out, some of my tips. Like, right now? My hair is in a big massive, blow out, afro. There is no way, I will be able to comb through it, in this state. It will break! So, off to the shampoo and conditioner bowl. I used to try to comb through it, back in the day and all I heard was, snap, crackle and pop. Now, I know, better. Thank you, for letting me know, that, you enjoyed this video. That makes me smile and it keeps me focused, on what type of videos to post:)
+Portable Konfidence Yeah, girl! That is a word. lol People, laugh when I say that word. Somebody asked me, what did it mean? I guess it's not a word, used, that often. Thanks, for your comment and compliment:)
Gurl!!! You just spoke my entire hair existence to life!!!! I have 3c front 4a crown 4 b/c back and 4c sides. Lol, the multitype/multitexture struggle is real. Love how other folk try to talk to you like you don't know your own hair, and they want to detangle it for you and buy your products. I hear ya, sista hair twin!!!! :) in fact I do most of the tips you do. Only difference is I love my daily wngs, so I braid/twist my hair up at night, but the length of your hair makes those twists look good, I may do those regularly once I'm at that length. :)
BklynBabe Thanks, for your lovely compliment. Sista hair twin? lol Too funny! I never tried a wng. When my afro was teeny, I would shampoo and condition it and pick it back into a fro. Back then, (2002) I didn't know anything about a wgn. I wouldn't dare do it, now. No need to tangle my hair with that method. I have enough tangles.
i just want to thank you from the top of my heart! your video is exactly what i needed to see. i was doing my hair and exhausted to the point where i felt i couldn't go on. you had me laughing so hard i was literally in tears. you gave me just the energy i needed to finish my hair...which is a MAJOR task for me because i truly, truly struggle when it comes to doing my hair. thank you sis. btw luuuuv your hair. it's beautiful
Michael Scott Hi Nikki! I'm so happy this video has helped you. I remember feeling, those same feelings, as you. How do I take care of my natural hair? It took me years to learn, but, I finally got it and decided to share. I laughed at you, for laughing at me. Lol Were you laughing at greasy baby, when I said that? It does sound sort of funny. Lol Thanks, so much for commenting and letting me know, that my tips has helped you. I appreciate you:)
If you're 4C , I'm also 5D! R u SURE you're 4C?! You have SO MUCH bounce, spring, waves, & curls for a 4C gal. Plus your "kitchen" is all smooth and laid down. And if your hair type breaks a lot, I'm TERRIFIED @ how my MUCH, MUCH, MUCH nappier hair will react when/ if I BC! I'm on a 4.5 month transition & times R tough. I'd KILL 4 your hair type. Lol. :-)
I am laughing at you. lol What is 5D hair? Everybody, is saying the same thing, about, my hair. The four c hair is in the back. So, today, I'm going to do some filming, of my hair and show it, to you guys. I'm going to section it, so that, you all can see it. Then, tell me if you see the 4c hair. Hopefully, I should have the video, posted, by tomorrow. So, stay tuned and let me know, what you think:) Oh, one more thing, my hair was blow dried and flat ironed, back in October and November. It's not as kinky, as can be. Now, you and your transitioning. That's alot of new hair, you have. Why are you holding on to the old hair? Having two types of hair can be challenging. You have enough hair, now. Come on over to the other side, Caroline. (Poltergiest Movie saying) Okay, I'm kidding. lol
Thanks for the encouragement, but I'm SO SCARED! Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know it's been a long time, but I'm so afraid I'll regret my decision, and that My hair will take forever to get to a more manageable length. Due to a bad perm as a child (9), my blown out bra strap length hair quickly broke off to a teeny-weeny, 1-2 inch afro, that DID NOT GROW until I was 23! My teens were HELL! However, I give myself until mid April, when I plan to do the BC. I hope that I follow through this time. This is my 3rd serious effort. Wish me luck, and I'll let you know when I'm officially "Happy & Nappy". Thanks again.
Yay! And, don't forget to let me know. Sorry, about your horrible, experience, as a young child, with relaxers. For your hair to be, that long and then, break off, that short? I can see, why, you feel, the way do. You'll be fine, though. Taking baby steps is a good, idea. You'll when you are ready. I posted, my hair texture and hair type video, a couple of hours, ago. When you get a chance, stop by and see if you, can see any 4c hair. As a matter of fact, I have 5d hair, too. lol
Thanks again for the encouragement, and I hope you're right, and I'll be looking to your site especially for advice and direction. Okay, okay, maybe you do have some 4c(ish) hair. But it that's so, their simply MUST be a 5, a, b, c, & d grouping, because I've seen some videos on YT (4chairchick, NaturalMe4c, etc) and their hair looks like total sheeps wool, especially when wet! Even Joulzey's hair looks nappier/kinkier than yours. (disclaimer: all aforementioned ladies have beautiful hair that I long for.) You're right about your hair being mixed. It is gorgeous, and you probably have some 3c hair mixed in??? When I finally BC I'll know for sure and let you know. And if my hair comes out half as beautiful as yours, I'll be completely satisfied. :-) P.s. Thank you so much for responding to my comments and for being so very kind, supportive and sweet. Character traits that are very rare to find on the internet these days.
You be killing me! Lol I bust out laughing, with the sheep wool hair, comment annnd, I know, you didn't mean any harm, either. So, you did see my video, that shows my texture? My viewers say, I am wrong as two left shoes. Shoot! After, I saw my video, I said, I was wrong, too. Lol I bet your hair will be better, than mine. My hair has muscles and a touch of, aggressiveness. It gives me hard time. You'll love your hair. Sometimes, it takes a moment to adjust, to your new look and hair texture, but, once you learn your hair, it will become, second nature. Especially, the first year. It's the hardest, then, you go through, the next phase. You'll be fine, though. I have a small channel and that's how, I'm able to reply to comments, which is cool. I love replying, especially, when I meet people, like you. You are the best viewer, ever! Lol We'll chat, later. Have a good night.
Have u viewed the video on the hair growth of the women in Chad, Africa. Their hair grows down to their feet. These women simply keep their hair highly moisturized and braided. Black women hair will grow extremely long if we go back to the ancient hair practices. No hair chemicals, no manual straightening, no harsh manipulation of the hair. There is no secret to black women growing long hair. Check out the Chad video, and other videos on African women present and past with long, long hair.
One thing i have found to be true also is that the kinkier the hair the more fragile the hair is. I have very kinky hair and it is so very fragile and delicate and not as strong as people would assume
Thank you for the tip! I have same situation as you do but a reverse. My hair at the back of my head is 4b, up to the hairs above my ears & temples, & they just grow with every minimal breakage. But above that area, all the way the front, especially the crown area, is 4c. Your video was really helpful. My 4c area has always being a because of how delicate it is: No problem growing, but really delicate. Now I know how to take care of it. Your video was really helpful. I'm Grateful!
At first I didn't think that I had anything in common with you since your hair is longer and I think that I have a lot more 4C hair than you do. But I learned a lot and will put your ideas into practice. Thank you I really appreciate your tips.
Linda Lewis Hi Linda. Most people don't think I have 4c hair at all, but, I agree. My tips can help with any kinky texture. I appreciate your comment and I am happy my tips can help you in your journey. You're welcome:)
So funny, I've just learned the same lesson! My hair is different in the back, too. I just got a good trim (about an inch) and now I know what not to do. I used to rip knots out & wear a bunch of puffs! I used to also wet it everyday, which was a no-no! I also do protein treatments now. Now my hair is on the comeback! If you treat it right, it will behave & grow!
Good for you. It does take take trial and error on some things. You know, I can relate to everything, you mentioned. That is so true. Treat it right and watch it grow!
Our 4C is is so unique. It might seem like being lazy but 4C hair is HIGH MAINTENANCE 😢 it's mine I love it but us high maintenance women are not lazy. Feeling you on the protein treatment. Thank you sweetie 😊
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for creating this video. I have been researching trying to find out why the back of my hair was not growing like the rest. I did find out that I did have 4c hair in the back. I finally trimmed it a bit and I did feel a difference but I think I might need to really cut it. I have learned so much from this video. Everything you mentioned is what I am experiencing. Thanks again!
Hey, girl! You are, so welcome! I'm happy, this video has helped you. I learned these tips, on my own, through trial and error. Our hair, is fragile and breaks, easily. I appreciate, your compliment, because, it let's me know, that, it has helped somebody. Thanks, for watching:)
***** I know. Everybody, says that. My hair is nappy, but, it's more manageable, now, due to my healthy hair care regimen and knowledge. Before then, uh, no! Rough! Thank you:)
***** Well I don't mean that 4c can't be manageable, I'm sure you made yours manageable but like you said with care and attention, but from what I know 4c hair in it's natural state with just basic care is rough and not necessarily unmanageable but you know, more tedious than dealing with a looser curl, but to me all natural hair is beautiful and exotic
I beg to differ. I too have 4c hair and it is not at all "nappy". A lot of 4c women are not educated enough to know that 4c hair with all of it's kinks, bends, and twists in each strand OUR hair sebum can not reach the full length of every strand and therefor is left dried out. So we have to supplement our sebum with hair oils and butters. There are a majority of 4c women who like NeziNapps and myself who have learned the technique to obtaining soft manageable 4c hair. I have to assume that you must have a hard time managing your hair or have just been uneducated about this hair type altogether for you to pass such judgement. Keep watching natural hair care journeys from other 4c ladies and I am sure you could possibly learn a thing or two!! *toodles* ; )
the hair typing stuff just puzzles me. I could not even began to tell you what my hair type is. some days it is blow away soft. other days, dry. some days it is kinky curly. other days, bone straight. I have been natural my entire life, but only grew my hair out the past three years after shaving it for 20. frankly, I have found that the most crucial things for my hair are a clean Vegan primarily raw food lifestyle and LOTS of water on my hair and in my body. everything else is like putting a Band-Aid on a pimple.
Amazing! I've finally found a youtuber with similar hair patterns as mine. My hair is mostly 4C in the back and 4a/b from the middle to the front, so I've experienced those same frustrations. This video was very helpful, thank you!
Thanks so much for the tips....I did the same thing with my hair....it was so horrible with the lopsided thick at the roots and thin half way to the ends. Its my first time being in winter with my natural hair and I've been struggling to keep it alive. Your moisture routine is something i'd definitely try
Yes! Yes! And Yes! This is exactly how my hair is! Everything you discussed is what I go through with my Type 4 hair. I will definitely heed your advice! Thank you so much for sharing...it's good to know I am not the only one with these same issues. Thanks!
You are dead on. I thought you were taking about my hair. lol! I just did my big chop about 2 weeks ago and I didn't know what I was gonna do. you're video however has been the most helpful. Thank you sooooo sooooo much.
Hi Aimee! Girl! I'm glad, I saved you from yourself. lol It takes time to learn our hair, wants and needs. Like me, it took about the last, 2 years or so, to learn my hair. Have you seen my video, of how my hair looked, when it was not healthy? Here's the link,. th-cam.com/video/fvCZbV18Pq0/w-d-xo.html if you are interested. You're welcome:)
I agree with point 3. Wearing my hair out with braid outs and twist outs lead to a lot of breakage and single strand knots in the back of my hair. So when I do those styles they only stay for a day before they are washed out.
my hair is a lot like yours in some ways. for some reason it's patchier and spiral like in the back, like insanely, at the crown it's frizzy and short but thicker, and the sides it's got a z pattern and 4C (i guess), and the front is a mixture of curl, frizz, and whatever. I love wearing my headband and a puff but it clumps together very quickly and it's a pain to detangle. I think i'll take your tip and cut it where it starts thinning at the ends or even before that! The breakage is just toooo much!!!! Great video!
dance1love Hi! Yeah, this whole pattern stuff can be confusing. People are telling me, that, I don't have 4c hair. However, my concern is with the health of my hair vs. the hair type. I know, what you mean about the hair clumping situation. It's a beast trying to detangle it at the end of the day. It causes major breakage, if you are trying to comb it out. That's why I stopped doing them (only on occasions). It will be a great idea to have a new start. By cutting or trimming your hair, ABOVE, the breakage point will allow your hair to thicken and grow. We get so caught up with length, to where, we won't see progress. We'd rather have length, with, raggedy split ends, instead, of short hair with healthy ends. Healthy ends with grow better, than, split ends. Thanks, so much for your comment and compliment:)
Your videos are super informative! I have the same 4c hair in the back and I will definitely use your hair care techniques to grow my hair. Quick question, how long did it take you to grow your hair? Thanks for sharing your experience!
Rolanda Brewer Hi, Rolanda! Thank you for letting me know, my video is helpful to you. I don't have a direct answer for the length of time, it took my hair to grow. So, I'll give you a brief breakdown of my journey and sum it up. I did a big chop, August 2002, because, I couldn't take care of a perm, properly. From 2002 until November 2010, I did whatever I wanted, like, flat iron, color and cut. December 2010, I challenged myself to grow my hair to my waist. I started taking good care of it, but, I colored it June 2011 and over processed it, causing my hair to be unhealthy. That was a setback. So, I transitioned the color out, by cutting the color out, little by little, from 2012-2013. I was able to retain length, at the same time. So, to answer your question, I've been letting it grow since, October 2013 without any major cuts, just trims. Mind you, my hair was close to arm pit length when I decided, to let my hair grow and now, it's below bra strap while blow dried. I changed my hair goal length, to tail bone length, instead of waist length.
I've watched tons of videos like this on u-Tube and I must say that yours is the most original. Some really good and actually sensible tips such as cut those thinning ends. I guess this speaks to me the most as I've recently purchased some shears to cut my ends but I won't do it until I've purchased my seamless comb. I'm simple not prepared to run a comb through my hair with seams as it will tear it out. Anyhow great vid and I'm now a new subbie, feel like I've a little treasure.
Thanks, so much! I heard those seamless combs are great. I don't blame you, by simply, having all tools ready to get yourself, started. A great start is very important, then, the hair care makes it, better. Keep me posted on your journey, every blue moon:)
Did my first very overdue trim as I finally purchased my seamless comb. It was the first time that I've combed my hair in over a year also. I'm so glad I trimmed as it was much needed and now seriously considering using henna as I've read so much about the benefits. Especially the thickening as I have fine hair.
You are a breath of fresh air. I loved this video and I totally agree with all 10 of your tips. I've been natural for almost 15 years and the hair typing system still confuses me. I categorize my hair as mostly 4c, but some folks would disagree. Oh well. I'm a new subbie to your page officially as of three minutes ago. Look forward to watching more from you!
Girl! I'm still confuse, about, that crazy system. People told me, I didn't have 4c hair in the back. I'm like, what? So, I know what you mean. In the end, my tips still worked, regardless. Who made that system, anyway? lol Thanks, for subbing. I appreciate, you:)
Awesome tutorial! I've been researching for awhile now trying to transition from relaxed to natural. I started doing the twistouts, the braidouts, and the rollersets. I found very quickly that regimen or form of styling was not good for my hair. Which right now feels like a 4c. So this is a huge confirmation. My question is how long do you normally leave your twists in? How often do you wash or cowash your hair?
Hi Kharessa! I leave my twists in for long periods of time. Mainly, because, I'm lazy. lol To answer your question, though, my twists will stay into my hair, anywhere, from 2 to 4 weeks. Depending on my mood. My french braids ( I wear under my wigs) stay in up to 10 weeks. I very seldom comb my hair. I know, it's bad, but, I'm working on it. I tend, not to comb my hair in it's kinky state. I don't like to. I co wash, when, I feel it's necessary. For instance, if my hair is really dry, I'll co wash on the next wash. If it's just recently been shampooed with sulfate, I'll co wash on the next wash. If my hair is in braids and I just want to juice them up, but, don't feel like shampooing, I'll co wash. I rotate my shampoos, to fit my needs at the time. I have no set shampoo regimen. Cleansing Rotation: Sulfate Shampoo Non Sulfate Shampoo Co Wash
I guess I'm lazy too then. Lol Believe it or not I think less manipulation strengthens our kind of hair because like you said it's very fragile. Thanks for replying. God Bless
When u said "...only in the back..." i sighed with relief bcuz im a whole headed 4c & my joint looks nothing like urs lol (ur hair is beautiful!!) But best tip for (whole headed) 4c girls... use water & light oils for moisture.
people dont understand that 4c hair long looks different than 4c hair short its seems kinkier and "nappier" shorter lengths but once its gains significant length its totally different. the longer your hair the more the curls stretch and 4c curls/coils tends to become wavy but the actual feel( physical texture) is different than of looser curls
Danielle Iman I've heard that before, that, 4c hair looks different when longer and healthier. You brought up some interesting points and you elaborated, clearly, too. Thanks, so much:)
no problem! i have the same texture hair as you and my crown curls are looser than the back as well
Danielle Iman right
Danielle Iman 4c hair does not hang and swing with length. 4c hair doesnt become 3c with length nor wavy nor lose coil. it does not blow in the wind or change personality with length. she might be in the 3a. 4c twists dont even twist like that. key fact 4c hair unlike all other types has a zero natural inherited water content. all hair types can be moisturized but the natural internal water content cannot change or be imitated, this makes 4c hair weightless at any length it will grow up not down and out
nor hang but will pack in tight.
I'm going to practise 😊
its not hard....just learn and watch youtube videos. my gosh.and DO NOT SLAP A perm in that girl's hair! Or put any heat to it!!! PLEASE!
XO Kimmie XO They are just giving her a heads up that she can do this and don’t turn to a relaxer.
Thank you sweetie... I'm past 50 and had always desired to have long hair. I envy you young gals getting the information today. Wish I had all the knowledge in 1974 when I was younger. But now I can grow it so thanks again for the info...God bless!!!
Aww that is so lovely, wish you luck on your journey.
Miracle Dinasty I second that sentiment!:)
+bumblebeebattv You sound like 50 is old. You still "got it". Grow that hair like you want it.
why do people think 4c hair doesnt have a curl pattern?
a lack of education and not enough hydration.
+Terri Samuels its so ironic because 4c hairis literally the curliest hair type.
+Terri Samuels its so ironic because 4c hairis literally the curliest hair type.
exactly
+Terri Samuels Well some peoples kinky hair is too kinky and it doesn't look curly.
mine is the opposite...lol. Grow faster at the back , struggles at the front
right same
Yup
Thanks, Kencia. You are so positive:)
You are very welcome!
Yes, Monica...you're right. Folks wanna argue about hair typing, and just be contrary, just for the hell of it.
I don't care what type hair you have , all I know is , it is beautiful!!!!!!🌸🌸🌸🌸
Right
Thats so true 4c is the most fragile hair
Business Mogul Thanks, for agreeing.
I'm laughing so hard, because I decided to use olive oil, and the oil was all over the back of my neck and blazer collar. To make matters worse I was at a job meeting. 😨
Blue magic I'm coming back.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
you're right on point with how 4C hair reacts to a twist out or puff. My entire head is 4C 0_0...it's a struggle but I definitely wet and slather with conditioner to combat it lol
That's really good! Our hair will break, if we don't. We need slippage:)
thx so much for the tips. I am in the beginning of the 11th month of transitioning and cut the remaining relaxer out six weeks ago.
+Nikki Reynolds Thank you so much! That makes me feel good. I really appreciate your compliment:)
I know 4c when I see it.. and yeah u got it... because I have it too. thank God for moisture... I see.. lol... but forget these haters
Only type 4 people will understand the strugglleeeeee
Needs some tips on how to get your kinkiest part of your hair to grow? Watch this video, as it will help you with that area.
Thanks for sharing!!!!
You're welcome :)
NeziNapps akaNezi
NeziNapps akaNezi
How long did it take the part you cut in he back to grow back ? Was the short part noticeable when u had it braided up?
This was very helpful. I've been struggling with my daughter's hair. She is 10 years old. And she has type 4C hair. It does not have a curl pattern, but it is course and hard to manage at times. I was blowing it out at every wash just to manage it. That's what I believe is making her hair pop. I used heat protectors always. I wash it every 2-3 weeks so heat is not being used often. I just couldn't figure out why it stopped growing. When she was 2-7 her hair was long and strong and thick. Now it's popping out of control. I'm trying to get it back on track. I'm going to try this method with her hair.
Stop telling this woman what kind of hair she has she's a grown ass woman she knows what kind of hair she has.
love that you talk back to your fans. lots of people never answer questions like you do. your hair is especially beautiful. i just came out of 6 years of dreds and have to grow another head of hair. starting a regiment today thanks to you.
smokeyab920 Thank you!
You are so welcome:)
#healthyhairgrowing
If your hair is 4C then my hair is 5 or 6C
***** I think it must be, too.
That's what i said!!!
Me too.
I second that.
Yes it goes beyond what yall call '4c'.. Throw the whole chart away. It seems to be confusing a lot of folk n causing unhealthy fixations.
You don't have 4C hair..4C is the kinkiest. I agree with you "don't comb or pick dry hair." Your hair looks easy to do. Very nice.
Hi AJoan!
Girl, not D and E! lol I know what you mean, though.
lol
It is really great that Nezi mentioned the effect of afro and afro-puff styles on 4C hair. I suffered much breakage due to wearing this style too often. I tried to see if others had this experience and could not find any mentions. I knew this was happening to me though. Finally, someone was willing to point this out. Thanks!
You're welcome! I appreciate your comment and compliment:)
i don't see 4c hair here.....
Cause it's only in the back..
Thank you for this video . Very informational & detailed. Lots of natural bloggers don't target a 4C hair audience at all & it not easy to keep up with them . This really helps because I'm also experiencing breakage, with not much growth in my 100% 4C hair & I don't know what to do with it most of the time.
If your hair is 4c mine is 4e
kitaisnice girl get that 4e hair together
It just might be...
I was shocked when I saw all of the hair I cut off, but happy.
And, that's all that matters. Remember, to take photo of your progress.
Yes I finally found someone with the hair texture like mine. i also have that same issue with the front being longer and the back shorter thank you. Please make some more videos.
I love your honesty and simplicity to say what works without fluff. You are so real and your tips helpful!
+Leeda James Thanks so much! I appreciate your comment and compliment:)
you had me going when you said 5,lol. I feel like a 5c sometimes, lol.
Right lol sometime I think I'm 4Z lol cause my hair in the back is the driest- Brillo pad - dry 😩
You are welcome. I will try your tips. Thanks.
you're hair is really soft. you may have trained it well but 4c hair like mine will have kitchens and is much harder to grow because the kinks pop if you try to comb it out too much
I love your screen name @ mindyourbusinessgoogle
Absolutely! Thanks :)
Its about winter time, so I'm thanking God I came across this video. Thank you Nezi for what you and people like you are doing to help others manage 4c hair
AMEN
+Louise Emanuel You're welcome! I had to learn the hard way. Thanks for your comment anc compliment.
Happy Hair Journey
Had to watch this classic video again for some pointers. (Splayed out 🤣🤣🤣) listened to it about 3 years ago and it helped my W hair to reach bra strap however it continued to be thin in the middle. Although I had given the middle a nice cut and kept it braided together I don't think I went deep enough into it. Last week and I did like you said and cut pretty deep into the damaged hair hopefully this time at bra strap length it'll be full in the middle.
sis, pls I was wondering, why camera did u use in this video, pls reply, I need one.
Fantastic Favour it was a Canon Rebel T4i, but, now I use the T5i. The T5i is better.
NeziNapps akaNezi waow, OK. thanks for the quick reply. I was actually watching ur last video before this massage came in. so let me get back😀
Alrighty! You're welcome.
I LOOOOOOOVE your hair! On my natural hair journey and when I feel like cutting, videos like yours inspire me. Thank you.
It took me about 2 years to figure things out and develop a regimen that works.
your hear looks really healthy and thick.
Thanks, so much! It took some years to get here, but, I finally achieved my goal. With my healthy, hair care regimen and patience, it finally, paid off. BTW! I love your username:)
thanks , it fits me. lol
Great vid, I really love your hair too! Has anyone ever told you that you like Danielle Spencer from What's Happening?
I do the same thing! Right this moment, my hair is in semi-chunky braids pulled into a loose bun. I tend to keep my hair in braids and twists and I moisturize almost exactly the same way. I use a homemade mango butter concoction that lasts for over a week.
This was very informative. My question is how do you wear ur hair daily if not twist out or fro?
Hi Cortney. My hair is always twisted or braided and not so stylish. I used to style my hair, but, I fell out of that mode. The way you see my hair in this video, is how I usually, wear it. Sometimes, I may put my twist in ponytail or ponyball. I'm going to start styling, my hair, again.
Hi do you ever flat iron your hair and if so how often?
Finally Someone Who Said The Truth Yes The Hair Is More Fragile Because Our Hair Is Prone To Dryness.... Great Video No Dislikes Here!!!
Thanks, so much! You are right. We are prone to dryness and that leads, to breakage.
I have 6d hair, too. lol
I recently, learned, about scab hair. That's pretty interesting. I got that, too. Shoot! I'm just gone claim, all kinds of hair:)
Well my afro/puff isn't actually big yet.
Okay! Thanks, for watching all of those videos. I do take, good care of my hair. Now, I need to work on my body, but, that's another story. lol
Yeah, seeing your natural hair for the first time, can be a shock.
Hi Karen,
People told me, my hair is not 4c in the back. It would be a great inspiration, to others:)
Thanks, for you lovely comment. Comments, like this, encourages me to continue:)
Really not 4C which is upsetting for people with real 4C hair who want to grow hair...the back is probably 4b and a half
Bongi Rudder It's really not upsetting, because, my tips still work for any texture, regardless if it's 4c or not.
I was thinking same thing, not 4c hair..but beautiful hair none the less..great tips!
I couldn't agree with you more about the after effects of twist outs, braid outs, wash n go etc. Yes, they are pretty hairstyles but I learned that I can only wear them for a few days before they become tangled and a disaster to comb. Your hair is beautiful!
Yes loving these videos Nezi!
Thank you, so much! I'm trying to keep them coming and interesting:)
....so glad I found you. This tutorial is what I've been trying to find on other channels but nobody seemed to address hair issues such as having multiple "type hair", brands of protein treatment & how to use them etc. THANKYOU!!
You're welcome and thank you for letting me know, that this videos helped you:)
You do not have 4c hair at all, not anywhere.
Dawn Little I was thinking the same thing.
Dawn Little she does not I agree
I don't know who told her she had 4c hair anywhere on her head...smh I swear some ppl have no idea!
Dawn Little her hair is long so it's looks different
😂
Even though we have different hair types, I have some of the same problems you have. My hair is kinkier at the crown and much shorter than the rest from breakage, so this helps!! I just like watching you, your accent is so cute and you're so down to earth. Great video, thanks! :)
minichris11 Thank you! I am happy, these tips and information, can help you in your journey. As far as, my accent. Girl! That's, that, St. Louis talk. lol And, according to people here, I speak, proper or like a white girl. It's funny. lol
I appreciate your comment and compliment:)
Your hair looks just like mine when its twisted and I'm 4a (round, roughly 3-5 mm coils high shrinkage).
My subbies say, I am not 4c, but more 4a and 4b. We had a discussion on it and now, I see what, they are saying. I'm going to add a video link to this video, now, so I won't confuse, anybody. Thanks, for commenting. Your comment reminded me to add the link, on this video.
In the end, my tips still work, for 4a, 4b and 4c:)
ok great, I will check out that link!
Thanks, girl. I just put it on the video, but, it is at the end of the video. I didn't want to distract, anybody, from the video. Also, the link is in the description box, below, this video. Another way to see my videos, click on my username. It will bring you to all of my videos and my channel. The name of the video is called, Can you see my 4c hair | Texture and Hair Type. th-cam.com/video/VdOvsPBDv-g/w-d-xo.html
I just added the link, here. Also, I have a video response, to that video, letting people know my thoughts and conclusion.
I'll be sure to check that out. Your hair is just like mine and its beautiful. Very few black women actually have 4c hair it is a rare hair type.
Aw, I didn't know that. Honey, I was going by the kinks and naps, of it all. It feels, like, I have 6 DDD, back there. lol
If we have similar hair, then, your hair is beautiful, too:)
Your hair is so beautiful nezzi, it's full😍😍😍
Thank you Nezi for this extremely helpful video! Some of your experiences are similar to mine and your tips are very practical. Thanks again! =)
That makes me smile and it keeps me focused, on what type of videos to post:)
you are the first person that I've found that have the SAME hair as mine. Texture, problem areas and all. I'm so HAPPY I found you!!
+april white Thank you! :)
You are on point with everything you said about 4C hair. Thanks for sharing!
Hellloooo...Thanks, for all of your lovely compliments. I really appreciate them, so much:)
This video is soooo awesome! Finally, someone who understands.
"Splayed out" lol. Great video
I have enough tangles.
your hair looks like my 4c hair after I've washed it. It is possible to have two or more hair textures. Thanks for your video, your hair is beautiful
i just want to thank you from the top of my heart! your video is exactly what i needed to see. i was doing my hair and exhausted to the point where i felt i couldn't go on. you had me laughing so hard i was literally in tears. you gave me just the energy i needed to finish my hair...which is a MAJOR task for me because i truly, truly struggle when it comes to doing my hair. thank you sis. btw luuuuv your hair. it's beautiful
after i posted i saw my comment was under my husband's name. oh well.
- Nikki
Michael Scott Hi Nikki! I'm so happy this video has helped you. I remember feeling, those same feelings, as you. How do I take care of my natural hair? It took me years to learn, but, I finally got it and decided to share.
I laughed at you, for laughing at me. Lol Were you laughing at greasy baby, when I said that? It does sound sort of funny. Lol
Thanks, so much for commenting and letting me know, that my tips has helped you.
So, stay tuned and let me know, what you think:)
Oh, one more thing, my hair was blow dried and flat ironed, back in October and November.
(disclaimer: all aforementioned ladies have beautiful hair that I long for.)
You're right about your hair being mixed. It is gorgeous, and you probably have some 3c hair mixed in???
When I finally BC I'll know for sure and let you know. And if my hair comes out half as beautiful as yours, I'll be completely satisfied.
:-)
Lol
I bet your hair will be better, than mine.
Lol
We'll chat, later.
My hair does the same thing in the back. Thanks for the advice.
You're welcome. I hope some of these tips help you.
Happy Hair Journey:)
Cindy Makori did you ended up cutting it , did it grow back healthier ?
One thing i have found to be true also is that the kinkier the hair the more fragile the hair is. I have very kinky hair and it is so very fragile and delicate and not as strong as people would assume
You do not have 4c hair
Thank you for the tip! I have same situation as you do but a reverse. My hair at the back of my head is 4b, up to the hairs above my ears & temples, & they just grow with every minimal breakage. But above that area, all the way the front, especially the crown area, is 4c. Your video was really helpful. My 4c area has always being a because of how delicate it is: No problem growing, but really delicate. Now I know how to take care of it. Your video was really helpful. I'm Grateful!
Good.video, look at those healthy shiny twists love it.... Your makeup is fab! Love the lippie. the for the tips.
I've worked really hard, to get my hair in a healthy state. Took some time, but, I finally got it. lol Thanks, so much:)
I think mine is a five :D
Other people say the same thing. lol I wish, I could see that pattern.
Your hair is not 4c.
jc King Yeah, I heard
@queenbeethatme100 Very good information. It explains my 3b 3c 4a hair. Thanks for that. I appreciate how you broke it down.
Our 4C is is so unique. It might seem like being lazy but 4C hair is HIGH MAINTENANCE 😢 it's mine I love it but us high maintenance women are not lazy. Feeling you on the protein treatment.
Thank you sweetie 😊
You're welcome and thanks, for commenting:)
I literally just did my big chop on monday and this video is the best so far, keep up the good work, your hair is so shiny a nice.
Thanks, for your compliment and good luck to your new, happy, hair journey. I hope, some of these tips can help:)
from look of the video u dont have 4c hair
Your hair really isn't 4c, 4c is nappyyyyyyyy and unmanageable, your hair looks soft and manageable you're probably between 4a and 4b
***** I know. Everybody, says that. My hair is nappy, but, it's more manageable, now, due to my healthy hair care regimen and knowledge. Before then, uh, no! Rough! Thank you:)
***** Ok, you must have 4c hair?
***** Well I don't mean that 4c can't be manageable, I'm sure you made yours manageable but like you said with care and attention, but from what I know 4c hair in it's natural state with just basic care is rough and not necessarily unmanageable but you know, more tedious than dealing with a looser curl, but to me all natural hair is beautiful and exotic
Lol You are too cute , Saidia!
The thickness, the thickness! So healthy!
Thank you. It me a couple of years, to finally, get it healthy:)
Amazing! I've finally found a youtuber with similar hair patterns as mine. My hair is mostly 4C in the back and 4a/b from the middle to the front, so I've experienced those same frustrations. This video was very helpful, thank you!
Elizabeth Njuguna Hi Elizabeth! I'm happy you found this video helpful. Hopefully, some of these tips help you in your healthy hair journey:)
Thanks!
Thanks, so much! I hope some of my tips, help you in some way:)
You are dead on. I thought you were taking about my hair. lol! I just did my big chop about 2 weeks ago and I didn't know what I was gonna do. you're video however has been the most helpful. Thank you sooooo sooooo much.
You spoke nothing but the truth! I needed this for my patch of 4C hair! I was seriously considering texlaxing but you saved me. :) Thanks a lot.
Hi Aimee!
Thanks. I'm almost 2 years in and some days I know what I'm doing and other days I'm like what the hell?!
lol Right! Me, too....Oh, the struggle!
I agree with point 3. Wearing my hair out with braid outs and twist outs lead to a lot of breakage and single strand knots in the back of my hair. So when I do those styles they only stay for a day before they are washed out.
JenniferPerry1988 Yeah! I learned that the hard way. We have something in common. lol
Growing isn't usually the problem, it's breakage. So how do you prevent it from breaking besides cutting and how often do you cut?
my hair is a lot like yours in some ways. for some reason it's patchier and spiral like in the back, like insanely, at the crown it's frizzy and short but thicker, and the sides it's got a z pattern and 4C (i guess), and the front is a mixture of curl, frizz, and whatever. I love wearing my headband and a puff but it clumps together very quickly and it's a pain to detangle. I think i'll take your tip and cut it where it starts thinning at the ends or even before that! The breakage is just toooo much!!!! Great video!

Hi!
I changed my hair goal length, to tail bone length, instead of waist length.
how long do you leave the twist in? do you remove when to co wash? How do you keep moisture daily?
Cleansing Rotation:
Sulfate Shampoo
Non Sulfate Shampoo
Co Wash
I guess I'm lazy too then. Lol Believe it or not I think less manipulation strengthens our kind of hair because like you said it's very fragile. Thanks for replying. God Bless
I can't help but~> repeatedly go back to all your videos ... Love them!
Thanks so much...You are sweet. I'm finn record one, now, I hope. Hopefully, I won't have anymore interruptions. lol
***** I'll be waiting!
lol:)
nikki holmes me to girl
When u said "...only in the back..." i sighed with relief bcuz im a whole headed 4c & my joint looks nothing like urs lol (ur hair is beautiful!!) But best tip for (whole headed) 4c girls... use water & light oils for moisture.
That is what I use in a spray bottle. Virgin, Argon and water.
