I put it there in case I decide to put a zipper. Which I later did

I tried this and it didn't work for me because the bottom hem part does not go over my breast😢....
I am guessing after you add the 2" to the hip then you deduct the one inch and make the pencil bottom

You can fix a zipper at the back and wear it from the leg.
