This is my dads 1946 Willys Jeep CJ-2A. It has been parked for a while with a stuck valve. I work with my brother to free up the stuck valve and take it for a short cruz.
My father must have converted it to 12 when he used it for hunting in the New Mexico mountains back in the 80's. HAM radios, probably a flood light too. So I can see why 12v was chosen. But now I am curious on the 6v. I'll add it to the list.
My dad pulled the bumper off a junkyard Desoto back in the day and cut the ends. He needed a strong bumber to attach a tow bar for his hunting trips and the original bumper was toast.
Dude! You destroyed a legend when you went to 12 Volts. A true CJ-2A advocate would not have done that! Best of luck!

Had a '47 for several years. Had the engine done over with new valves for the unleaded gas. Ran beautiful. Fun to drive.
did it have the half cab..

Yes. I eventually figured that out after asking about it. I like how the valve cover is on the side and was a easy access. Pretty cool little engine.
