    So funny Daniel, this video made me laugh because the other day I was shopping at Wholefoods and there was all this Dutch cheese and I loooove Gouda and since I'm learning Dutch I realized English speakers have been pronouncing Gouda all wrong! haha

      @letswalkaroundstockholm  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha Gouda is a city in the Netherlands and should be promounced with a Dutch G yes

      Did you know that it only takes 22 weeks to build a NEW LIDL supermarket! it was fascinating to see it come to life...and it's all documented on my channel!

      I enjoyed this and it was nice to see prices of items. Well, guess you didn't run into anyone you knew 😂 The prices here (Pennsylvania) seem to keep going up ever since lockdown and every so often you can get a good deals, if you shop around.

    Thanks Daniel. That was a great insight into a Lidl store based in Stockholm.
    It is similar to Germany, only the prices are ten times higher because they are in crowns.

    Prices here in the USA have rising dramatically on everything too. The price of gas has gone down in the last few months but inflation is still high.
    Thank you for showing us your Lidl. I shop at Aldi but haven't been to a Lidl yet. My husband is German an I can never let us run out of cheese!

    The purple fruits you pointed out would be called Damson plums in the US. No idea what they’d be called in other English speaking countries. They’re hard to find in stores in the US, and if people have them it’s usually because they have their own tree. Plums we find in the store are usually dark red skinned with red-orange flesh.

    Hi, I am new to your channel. I love watching grocery store walk through videos from other Countries. I have to say that your prices are pretty inexpensive compared to where I live in the US. We are so overcharged here for our groceries. For example, a container of couscous like you showed, would be around $6. Your cheese is extremely cheap compared to what we pay.

    Prices in the UK are stupid, especially on fuel.. The fruits looked like damsons, a tart type of plum that makes great jam. Butter here is £2 to 2.50 for 250g.. Enjoyed seeing inside Lidl. Totally understand about the cheese, the middle shelf in my fridge is the cheese shelf(with a little yoghurt down the left side), but mostly a range of lovely cheeses!

    OMG, my favourite Danish White & Blue for 49.90 SEK at 9:18 here! it suddenly disappeared from all LIDLs in Prague several years ago...and now I know the place where to find it :) so pls pls pls talk to your local Lidl management to send some stocks back to Prague, I'm begging you, Daniel! :)

  • @TechBearSeattle
    @TechBearSeattle ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Very roughly, you can move the decimal point one position to the left to switch from kronor to US dollars (at the moment, 1 US = 10.4 kr.) Honestly, your prices are pretty much what I am used to seeing. 35.90 kr = $3.59 which is a decent price for a loaf of good bread. 99.99 kr is about $10, which is a really good price for a pound of cheese (or was that a kilo, around 2.2 pounds?) We easily spend $4 or $5 for a pound of butter (again, about half a kilo), and $6 for half a kilo of coffee is decent. $3.40 for a liter of oat milk is low for us. From an American point of view, your prices are pretty good.
    What impresses me is the variety the store had. Chili surprised me, but tortillas? Not at all what I would have expected. And the yogurt in a carton, is that more like kefir? I would think yogurt too thick to pour. Very nice video, thanks for the look around.

    • @marekwolinski500
      @marekwolinski500 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quite different assortment (no Swedish bread at all), but ordinary 1000g loaf of bread is about SEK 10 - 11 (after conversion from PLN to SEK).

    I'm from armenia and the 180grams of Belarusian shitty butter costs around 1350 AMD which is the equivalent of 35 SEK.
    Because of the Russian EEU which is the European union fake equivalent, makes our prices SUPER expensive.
    And no, it's not due to inflation, it's because of putin and closed markets.
