    I like the green skywalk, it would make traveling by walking much easier. The suspension reminds me of the exo-skeleton mega skyscrapers because it’s the only way to support them. If you build a really tall vertical section you should have a skyway up high connecting the skyscrapers.

    wow, your detailing and imagination is absolutely outstanding. I recently showed someone city skylines, I made them watch different youtubers and their styles when it came to this series they were like wow and amazed by what you can do with mods and imagination. they didn't realise how versatile this game is.

    I am so loving the green levels! But they do seem to be rather shadeless for a subtropical place.
    The bridge has such an interesting volume it looks really good! Maybe a couple of paths and a terras on that green would be my whish (if it is public: imagine the view of the space elevator and the skyline!
    I love how you asdembled those beutiful buildings around it. I imagine a luxury hotel or casino or holo-entertainment center on that curved building on the right

    Amazing video! You're probably not going to read this, but hopefully you do. The green paths look great! But I think that some shade is missing. I think you could try and add trees or some sort of umbrellas for shade, especially in seating areas! (Since it's somewhere tropical). Really looking forward to see more of this city 👍

    I actually liked the bridge more without the pavement on the bottom level next to the streets. So you can see the river from the street through the "ribcage". And an idea for the top level, you can allow the pedestrians to go from one side of the bridge to the other by making an overpass over the tracks. Maybe combine it with a small viewing platform ~6m above the tracks. If there is enough space between the wires. But I think the bridge could look really cool when it's a bit more crowded. Maybe with some kiosks as well on the green.
    Great video nontheless, I love watching you build futuristic cities. Asturis is looking good so far. I actually really like the pedestrian spaces with green pavement. But also the verticality and how packed and dense the cits looks. Definitely looking forward to 3.5 years of Asturis hahaha.

  • @chibipeach
    @chibipeach 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Such a beautiful build! The ribcage bridge is so inspired and I just love it~ My only little note would be that flipping the lights (green in the bottom and white on the top) might make for more contrast at night, just because the white ribs lose their definition and seem to get lost in the white light. Thanks for all your creativity~

  • @PauxloE
    @PauxloE 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    26:56 Here the people are walking mostly directly on the platform near the tracks towards the elevator, instead of using the nice green pedestrian infrastructure. Adding another invisible path parallel here might spread them out a bit more.

    @YoWhatGoesHere 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I am really happy to hear that you included viewing galleries in your design. I was listening to the architect of the new bridge they are building in LA and he talked about how one of the biggest lessons that architects have learned over the last 20 years or so about bridges and other large transportation structures is that the traffic level is actually the least important part because it is the first part of the structures to be out of date. Usually a bridge will be over or under built for the types of transportation needs ten years after it is built. The most important part of the bridge is how it interacts and defines the neighborhoods it is in. There are three things that they said are important to bridges in the future, one is of course pedestrian use being featured as much as other types of transportation. (The one thing that they stressed that you don't have are bike paths.) But they noted that the most famous landmarks in the world today (ie the Statue of Liberty, Eifel Tower, London Eye etc) are as important to view from the landmark as the view of it to the relationship between the landmarks and the cities they are in. And third that the space below the road deck is just as if not more important than the space above it because that is the part that actually defines the life of the people who live around it. It should provide more than just a thing that holds up the road, but the structure of the bridge should be an amenady in itself and should be something that brings the community towards it as a merging point not a Division or separation dividing the area in half.

  • @johnnyzakka
    @johnnyzakka 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    That was an epic project man (as usual, lol). I would suggest doing the bridge lights like a gradient of blues and violets, kinda inspired by east-Asian modern cities if that makes sense. A big green blob is a little flat and desaturating and you already have greens for other things.

    This thing is Art!!!, the combination of the shapes and colors and the depth and everything is just so good!
    also a suggestion: I think doing a gradient type of lighting for the bridge is going to work very good, since some people might find that green color a bit spooky, It won't be that suitable for huge public spaces, instead I think a slightly desaturated pink to cyan or red/blue gradient may work better.

    I like the green on the bridge. The green walkways and the focus on parks makes it seem a bit like, say, New York City - sure, it's a gargantuan megatropolis, but it's also still full of visible natural life. The green on the bridge accentuates that and fits in, and the red atop the pillars is both realistic and a good source of contrast to the green. That said, another interesting thing would be if the buildings lining the waterfront were lit up in blues and perhaps sparsely with purple as well, to fit the water's color and make the city that much more colorful. Certainly can't wait to see what's next with the holographic ads and lighting.
    The open spare areas on the bridge could easily be useful - I think an excellent contrast would be the lower area lit up with red colors and being a sort of safe-from-the-elements (rain at least) food and minor shopping area, where you'd see stands and small buildings for the people walking along, whereas the top section, the more green in both lighting and color, would indeed do well as a lengthy park where people can sit out in the sun or beneath the night and relax, at least until the trains interrupt them - at least it's a place to be. Less ads and less nearby lights, since the only really powerful ones are far above on the main suspension cable.

    I know people already said this, but I just wanna say that I love your focus on transit and pedestrian infrastructure, especially with the elevated plazas (green paths) which I think is a pretty new concept.
    I think you could do bright brown/orange brick/tile pavements for the skywalks or footbridge or whatever they're called. Though I very much agree with you that the green pavements look nice. You can contrast the green with purple or pink, and it just so happens that such colored plants exist in the tropics, so definitely plant more of those in these green pavement plazas besides the trees and whatnot.

Some of these plazas should be faded because there is no way the city is paying to repaint them once a year. And even is they are they arent repainting them all at the same time.

    Still waiting for that class on PO. You wield that thing like a Jedi manipulates the force. Got a question about the elevated ped path we saw you placing, but it's not there in the final product. I assume it is to allow pedestrians top move about to the different areas, but I don't know how to mimic what you do?

    Is there a reason to why the platforms in the central hub are way longer than the new station?

      This is a smaller station.
