I mean it's very good that they use "trash" and recycle it obv., but if you look at in a commercial way, they just basically are buying trash for like nothing and sell them for a really high price. They must have a 1000% margin on every shoe. Quite questionable.
If they're really serious about "saving the planet by creating most out of the least" then they should at least lessen the production of normal Nikes and shift focus on creating sustainable materials by recycling old shoes. They can also do something like "Donate your old shoes and earn discount", but as you can expect they will never do it. At the end of the day, businesses is businesses, these whole "environmentally shoe" is just a propaganda for the people to storm the Nike stores and buy their $$$ shoe made out of trash and recycled materials. Also, they'll probably reason out why these shoe line is expensive and rare than others is because it uses machinery, labor, etc. Well color me surprise, isn't that the same thing with their normal products, with all machine, 3rd world country sweatshops, and carbon footprints.
VITTXRIO they do recycle old shoes. It’s called reuse-a-shoe. They have bins placed in stores and they use the materials to build playground surfaces. And yeah they do have a big carbon footprint but that’s what happens when you are the biggest sportswear company on the planet. But they actually are doing quite a lot to change and you’ll see more in the future.
