One thing I saw is that once you finish the game and know the context of alan being shot, you realize that the end and the beginning of the game loop with each other, kinda like that song from Tyler the Creator in his Igor album. It was an interesting observation that I thought it was clever.
Dark place. Alan is essentially stuck there, split into multiple Alan's due to him changing and re-writting his story so many times, as we see when he shoots himself prior to being taken over by the dark entity. He's stuck in a loop in his own story, possibly/purposely done by the dark entity to make sure it can feed off of Alan and continue to try and escape to spread itself in the real world, or it was done by Alan as a protective measure or accidental insanity, its unclear atm but what is clear now is that through every loop he's getting closer and closer to the center or the end, because like he states at the end " the loop isn't a loop..it's a spiral".
Oh so Alice was haunted by Alan and was taking those photos as a way to cope with losing Alan but also because she wanted to help him out if the Dark Place. But the Dark Place manipulated things and made Alan think she killed herself which which was enough for the Dark Presence to take over Alan, turning him into Scratch. I'm guessing she gonna play a big part in the next game with her photos like Alan with his manuscripts.
...Oh god you're right... although IDK how relevant it is, because we know now that THAT door is Alan's writer's room. Remember it's only one door with a symbol painted on it out of many in the Oceanview.
So I am little bit lost here what does he mean by it not a loop but a spiral, cause if it not a time loop does it mean the spiral are just a never ending event that keeps going with no end?
yaaap it will loop again (or spiral again), casey and saga will come again into cauldron lake because the case of cult of the tree. The evidence can be found when saga found nightingale heart in shop, she said it was like deja vu. So it will loop (spiral) until alan wake achive his ascension. So basically, alan wake I, is the departure, alan wake II is the initiation, alan wake III (maybe) is the real return.
No. Alan is trapped in a loop of getting out, thinking "holy shit it's my fault", and hopping back in. And a loop of deciding that the best way to solve the issue is shooting himself in the head. And a loop of getting Alice out, only for Alice to go back to get Alan out, only for Alan to probably hop back in to get Alice out... All the "real world" stuff is still "real world" stuff, not sure why you'd think it's ALL the Dark Place.
This is not the real ending of the game. You have to play it again (going once more through the loop/spiral) to see real ending. But at this ending, Alice had to make Alan see his dark side, so he won't be so susceptible to the darkness. By making Alan face his dark side and the guilt over Alice’s death being his fault, she really helps him become more conscious and less vulnerable to the Darkness. Alice truly showed him the meaning of “Your friends will meet him when you’re gone.” It’s a moment where Alan starts to come to terms with himself and takes a big step toward healing. The Darkness thrives on denial and inner conflict, just like in the song "Dark, Twisted, and Cruel" (tied to Mr. Scratch), where it says, “When the writer is in doubt, my turn to come out.” This shows how the Darkness feeds off uncertainty and self-doubt. All this conflict and doubt even makes Alan question whether the story he created could really be an easy win. He doesn’t trust himself or the story, and that’s why it ends up failing. So, when Alan finally accepts his flaws, he weakens the Darkness’s grip on him.
From my understanding, at the end Alan realizes that basically the entire game has been replayed multiple times only he is making progress, not just a loop like he thought throughout the game. Which why at the end he says it’s not a loop, it’s a spiral. Meaning it has an end. And the entire game was a “step” up the spiral.
I thought a spiral and a loop be the same shit but I guess the difference is a loop brings you back to the start but a spiral is like a tornado spinning you around. Which doesn’t make sense to me. Lol how is that any better lol
@@BenjaminButton6573 think to the spiral as the typical line version of one. The line starts wide and then moves in on itself and gets smaller until the pen is off the paper. It has a beginning and end unlike a loop which would just connect at the beginning and end.
