Her vocal perfection is unmatched. She didn't miss ONE SINGLE breath. Her tones were PERFECT. Not even one tiny miss. Always have been and always will be in awe of her beautiful gift. What a blessing to have her back. 🥰❤🙏
I don’t know when she does. Amazing woman. Loved her and still and always will since I was 6 years old , I’m 34 now . Powerful majestic woman in EVERY WAY
this part makes me cry. I know what being disabled is in my own flesh (I'm on my third cancer and I almost died from chemo). seeing her overcome her illness is inspiring!
I've known the information about the fact of our goddess of music Ms.Celine's perfomance at the Eiffel Tower🗼 for a long time ago. But,sometimes haters typed ''That was a fake 🎭!'' Unbelievable....\(^_^)(^_^)/
An unforgetable performance,a moment in time that we will remember after the terrible health struggles she has endured .Such a courageous and inspirational performance. .An incredible return to the stage !
Merci
The French album she made with Jean-Jacques Goldman was one of her best. Her most sentimental and, I think, best-known French love ballad is undoubtedly Pour que tu m'aimes encore. But of course, you have to understand French to appreciate it, although the emotion sometimes transcends the language barrier, as it did with this Edith Piaf classic L’hymne à L’amour. As a french speaker I found her performance masterful, better felt and nuanced than the one she gave at the American Music Awards in 2015. I find that French interpretations are more emotionally nuanced, but I can't judge English interpretations, as I'm not an English speaker. On the other hand, it's undeniable that the style of song is different in French than in English: it's definitely not the same market. If she could do a few more songs with Jean-Jacques Goldman, that would be great.
It's not really the voice that we remember. She has a rasp in the upper notes. And, it's lower than her regular register but, by God, it was so beautiful and it brought me to tears. I'm so glad she didn't add flourishes. Merci Céline. C'était magnifique.
Here is the translation of this song written by Edith Piaf in 1950. L'HYMNE À L'AMOUR --(THE HYMN TO LOVE) Le ciel bleu sur nous peut s'effondrer --(The blue sky over us can collapse) Et la Terre peut bien s'écrouler --(And the Earth can collapse) Peu m'importe si tu m'aimes --(I don't care if you love me) Je me fous du monde entier --(I don't care about the whole world) Tant qu'l'amour innondera mes matins --(As long as love floods my mornings) Tant qu'mon corps frémira sous tes mains --(As long as my body quivers under your hands) Peu m'importe les problèmes --(I don't care about the problems) Mon amour, puisque tu m'aimes --(My love, since you love me) J'irais jusqu'au bout du monde --(I would go to the ends of the earth) Je me ferais teindre en blonde --(I would have my hair dyed blonde) Si tu me le demandais --(If you asked me) J'irais décrocher la Lune --(I would go and get the moon) J'irais voler la fortune --(I would go and steal the fortune) Si tu me le demandais --(If you asked me) Je renierais ma patrie --(I would deny my homeland) Je renierais mes amis --(I would deny my friends) Si tu me le demandais --(If you asked me) On peut bien rire de moi --(People can laugh at me) Je ferais n'importe quoi --(I would do anything) Si tu me le demandais --(If you asked me) Si un jour, la vie t'arrache à moi --(If one day, life tears you away from me) Si tu meurs, que tu sois loin de moi --(If you die, let you be far from me) Peu m'importe si tu m'aimes --(I don't care if you love me) Car moi je mourrais aussi --(Because I would die also) Nous aurons pour nous l'éternité --(We will have eternity for us) Dans le bleu de toute l'immensité --(In the blue of all the immensity) Dans le ciel, plus de problème --(In the sky, no more problems) Mon amour, crois-tu qu'on s'aime? --(My love, do you think we love each other?) I assume you are from Quebec. As an English Montrealer, she was on my radar more after "Unison", but I knew how she sang in French. Her English style is not really for me; too exaggerated. She has a much more relaxed and natural sound in French. What comes from the heart, shows. Beautifully sung.
The balloon is the "olympic cauldron", keeping the flame. In remembrance of the Mongolfiere balloon created in the same place by Mongolfier brothers, presented to the King Louis the 16th in 1783
TuneBlizzard, you have no idea what you're missing. Go back and listen to all her songs since 1988 (yes, nineteen eighty eight) You'll be blown away. Start with the song when she won the Eurovision Song Contest when she was only 20 years old. Her international career started that night. And she's stayed there in the Stratosphere ever since. Better than Whitney and Mariah!

God reunites those who love each other. The Tragic Love Story of Édith Piaf and Marcel Cerdan Édith Piaf, the famous French singer, had a passionate and tragic love affair with Marcel Cerdan, a world-renowned French boxer. Their romance began in 1948 and quickly became the talk of Paris. Piaf and Cerdan were both at the height of their careers-Piaf was already a legendary singer known for her emotional performances, while Cerdan was a boxing champion, celebrated as one of the greatest in his sport. Their love was intense but complicated. Piaf was deeply in love with Cerdan, often expressing her emotions through her music, including in songs like "L'Hymne à l'Amour." However, their relationship was not without challenges. Cerdan was already married and had children, which added a layer of complexity and difficulty to their love affair. The tragedy struck on October 28, 1949, when Marcel Cerdan was on his way to New York to see Piaf. He had taken a flight at her request, even though he initially intended to travel by boat. The plane, an Air France Lockheed Constellation, crashed in the Azores, killing everyone on board. The news of his death devastated Piaf. She was heartbroken and struggled to cope with the loss of her great love. Piaf's grief was profound, and she channeled her sorrow into her music, making her performances even more poignant and emotional. "L'Hymne à l'Amour," which she had written for Cerdan, became a tribute to him after his death. Piaf never fully recovered from this tragedy, and it marked her life and music forever. Her love for Cerdan remained one of the defining aspects of her life, illustrating the deep connection between her personal experiences and her art.

Céline Dion may have been emotional towards the end because the last line she would sing after that means « God reunites those that love each other »
What an amazing comeback by Celine, I had goosebumps listening to her on TV. Beautiful voice, and she loved performing again. ❤❤❤❤

The world needs this - she gives her all and we are grateful. Like you I am just so happy we got to hear her again.
the perseverence, the passion, the resilience. No one does it like her. The GOAT.
Edith Piaf, would have been so proud of Ceiline singind her song..
Think of the words. She was emotional and I believe singing to Rene.

Peu m'importe si tu m'aimes

Tant qu'l'amour innondera mes matins

Tant qu'mon corps frémira sous tes mains

Peu m'importe les problèmes
--(I don't care about the problems)
Mon amour, puisque tu m'aimes
--(My love, since you love me)
J'irais jusqu'au bout du monde
--(I would go to the ends of the earth)
Je me ferais teindre en blonde

Si tu me le demandais
--(If you asked me)
J'irais décrocher la Lune
--(I would go and get the moon)
J'irais voler la fortune
--(I would go and steal the fortune)
