This is my second video I’ve watched of yours and I love hearing the excitement you’re having with swimbaits! I’d recommend getting a Dobyns 806 for these smaller trebled swimbaits. I rarely lose them on mine and have been fishing them exclusively for the last 3 years or so. You definitely want to crank the fish in fast when you hook up and not play them like you would with conventional tackle. Careful: swimbaits are highly addictive and break the bank fast! Good luck!
I'm a big swim bait fan myself. It really gets my heart pounding. It's only a matter of time before I invest in a quality bait. Thanks for the video. It's the push that I needed to go ahead and get one 👍🏻✋🏻💯
That was painful watching you lose that fish. I have actually had good luck using Japanese made lots too, with bass and especially crappie. Cool video. Love it
Best thing to do while swimbaiting especially bigger baits speed up the retrieve the bass or any predator will think it's getting away and just attack with everything they got
I love how you're trying new Bates. I need to get into the big swimbait game. living in north Texas we have some pretty big bass. love your channel keep up the great work
Great video! Very informative and Very professional! Love your enthusiasm! Just got my first TK and came to YT to get educated. Your video helped a great deal! Subbed!
Bigger fish require more "handling" time to eat. Plus less surface in the stomach to digest. Fish instinctively know this and prefer the best size for easy eating and digesting. Great video.
See, this is why I made the Gantarel comment on your other video. Your catching fish with this bait first day on the water, but like me, it took long grueling hours with the Gantarel. First day I used the Mike Bucca Bull Shad I caught fish. Side note, aint no way I'd throw that bait on anything but braid, your brave.
Burning the TK with the Short Lip and V-Tail is 🔥🔥🔥this time of year. Try grinding them in more, 2oz on a treble hook bait gives them a lot of leverage to spit the hook. Only play them out like that when you're using a more moderate rod, I lost a lot of fish trying to play them on stiff rods when I first started out.
I would have to use a trace with that bait just In case a pike or Muskie fancied a go. I think the slimline trout shaped baits get more hits than the bluegill shaped baits because it’s easier for the fish to eat it. What do you think?
I fish off the piers in Lake Michigan for Coho and rainbows and I always use 1/4 ounce lures because I lost so many heavier lures due to the underwater rocks etc.

This is so wholesome! I hope you kept up with the DRT baits, they are great and catch giants.

Never throw big heavy baits on braid unless it's a must, lots of veg etc. because it has no stretch u can snap off if your spool sticks at all
Just caught my first TK fish 2 days ago. It’s exhilarating!
Oh heck yea!

Awesome video and loved the excitement when you caught your first fish. My biggest concern is losing the bait and out the money spent buying it.

That lure is also difficult to obtain in Japan.
This Bait is hard too get, always sold out in the japaness stores, the same is it with the customhandle from DRT.
Yea it is!
U can get the varial handle on Ebay but it's way expensive and marked up like 200% lol
It works that makes it great.
Great job

Are you not worried a Musky eating it ? Looks awesome in the water.
