Congrats on hitting 20K subs! And a big thank you for listing all of the interviews and articles in one place! They were really hard to find as they were all over the place
In the books, while enslaved, Egwene learns of her affinity with earth and minerals and is trained to detect and shape them. Maybe that will be developed in S2 so it's not a long term spoiler but charachter development and foreshadowing. The crystal weaving in the last book is achieved through an object of power from the age of legends, it is her talent using it but a totally different thing. (Keeping it vague on purpose). I love your podcast, Jon! You'll need some stamina in the days to come. Stay strong!❤
I like these season 2 posters. Even book readers who have read the series multiple times would have been surprised by some of the meta data (hello Selene). Also, I think the meta data for Suroth makes it clear that a prior reference to her a Lady Suroth was a mistake. She will be a high lady in the show.
Crystal weaver could be invoking Elaine's ability to create Angreals. Thanks for the great channel! You are the first feed I go to for new WoT information. Starting my rewatch of season 1 on Thursday to be ready for the 1st.
Congratulations on 20K!! 🎉🎉🍾🥂🎉🎉 Thank you for the links, as I am one of those who will Never have an account with the 'social media company that shall not be named!' 😏
With these quotes , and the trailer , I think we are going to get a lot more of the books in the season than I expected , though not in the same order as the books !
Slight and picky point of clarification: Corianin Nedeal was the last known Dreamer in the White Tower prior to Egwene, not the Tower's first Dreamer. She also studied ter'angreal, many of which had to do with Dreaming or other "alternate reality" effects.
Un gros bravo to your son for his French reading!! Keep up the good work Jon, I follow a few utube channels for WOT but yours is be far my favourite 😊. Now I wonder if it’s because you’re a fellow Canuck 😉
Now I want to read WoT again! .........Verin is a sleeper fan favorite though.... Like you didn't know she was going to be one of your top five until the reveal. To be fair her screen time isn't quite high enough to make my top five. Emotionally for sure. You absolutely fell in love with her. She's definitely my favorite character with that amount of "screen" (page time... Word count) time by far.
@@carolbriscoe9337 Highly unlikely. A more realistic release date is probably late Q1/early Q2 of 2025, which would put the gap between s2 and s3 at 17-18 months. That's 3-4 months shorter than the gap between s1 and s2, which is alright. If it wasn't for the writers strike and the need for reshoots, I'd say they could make that gap even 6 months shorter.
@Stan_S_Stanman oh well. As long as went don't wait 2 yrs for season 3. I will still hold out hope we see something next September. Think there are only the 2 actors on strike
@@carolbriscoe9337 oh the actors strike isn't the problem. It's the writers strike. When you can't tweak scripts on the spot, you need to fix things in post-production, and that takes extra time. I hope you're right. A 1 year gap between seasons would be insanely short.
I believe it was Loren who quoted one of the books, in which Min says she's as much a part of Rand as a barrel stave is of the barrel. I can't find the quote now of course ...
In the poster of Elayne, my initial reaction was that Elaine has no belt because she has never needed to carry things around with her. She could just have a servant bring her a knife.
Eggy's tagline 'crystal weaver' has to be either 'the flame of tar valon' (most likely) or heart stone (less likely; but includes the earth reference).
One think I'm curious about is how they'll deal with what happens to Moiraine at the end of book5, likely to be end of season3. Are we having the Aelfin/Eelfin? Not sure if or how Moiraine being absent for 4 seasons of the show will be done considering the importance of the Rosamund to the weight of the Amazon series as a main character. Same with the actress playing Lanfear. Will we have reincarnation as a plot mechanism? Internal monologues, and in some cases dialogues, are central to Jordan's writing. How they do this with Rand & Perrin, and how well they do this especially, will be crucial. Don't be shit. Hope there's Hurin.
I am one of those who truly don't like Mat as a character. Maybe it's because I wasn't a teenager when I read the series but he consistently rubbed me the wrong way. I never found him charming. I personally feel that, left to his own devices, he would have abandoned Rand and the entire main plotline if not for the Pattern essentially forcing him. People like to say that "he always ends up doing the right thing in the end even though he says he doesn't want to". That may be true later in the books but in at least the first 4 he would have dipped without a second thought. He actually TRIES to leave constantly in Tear but the Pattern essentially forces him to stay. Also, people excuse him for being a terrible friend to Rand, treating his supposed childhood friend as a pariah, because of what the Dragon is prophesied to do and because he's a male channeler. I could accept that reaction from a minor character but from his childhood friend? And his woe is me attitude is so tiresome. And don't even get me started about Nynaeve... 🤣
I had the s a screen rant interview appear on my youtube feed after watching another video on the show (I don't remember what channel) and since then I keep getting recommended more and more of them. Just before watching this one, I watched one that was released earlier today... it was the first one I heard that Rand was working in the sanitorium... previously it seemed the assumption was he had checked himself in. I wonder if he's working there and Logain is a patient. 🤔 Min is definitely one of my favourite female characters (maybe my favourite-- Though Nynaeve grew on me throughout the series, I didn't like her at the beginning). Mat is my #1 fave. I think Mat is the only one of the main characters that didn't really, really annoy me at one time or another. 😅 I have weird taste though... I liked Verin, but she was never one of my top characters... but Gawyn is one of my top ones. ... possibly it's Mat, Min, Rand, Nynaeve and Gawyn (at least on my initial & second read of the first books... I haven't read the books in awhile and re-reading now, maybe my opinion has changed in the past 20 or so years).
SPOILERS: Yes I was shocked when they added "crystal weaver". I guess if you were a show-only fan or even a little through the books it's not a spoiler. I knew she would be the one out of the Edmond's field 5 to die but I never saw the "how" coming. So maybe it's just a little teaser to keep us book fans happy.
End of book 13 here, will I be able to watch through the poster part lol? Spoilers I presume crystal weaver is something to do with Egwene talent of making cuendillar?
Verin didn't get a poster for the same reason we love her. we don't know how important she is till the very end and then in rereads we are like "look at verin, i see what your doing there". its to avoid spoiling her awesomeness
It seems to me that some quotes for the posters apply to both characters they present, a double meaning so to speak, a bit of a riddle, too. I mean, why would they address only one character if there are two in each poster?
I don't think the weaver thing is a spoiler. One wouldn't know what it means if they haven't read far enough. In fact I have read all the books and wasn't sure what it referred to exactly. Also... asking the watchers to comment on it, may lead to actual spoilers in the comments. I'm not surprised that we don't get posters of Alanna and warders or Verin and warders. At this point the most major of characters yet, especially Verin who is a complete nobody to those who haven't read the books. I don't think we will get specific posters of them, but I guess that remains to be seen. Aside from that, good video, cool that you encourage people to check out the articles and videos themselves.
Everyone seemed to be avoiding saying who the central character is. So, I guess she said that and they chose to give her less screen time because the fans were complaining, didn't bother me much as long as characters got their time in the sun but they did over do it. Moiraine wasn't even in the top 10 main characters in the books, so for her to be made the central was weird. I understand them putting her as lead for marketing reasons but I man he actor for Tyrion was the most known character is GoT and they did not make him the main so...
It means they think she is useless. Many people don't understand Min's biggest role, keeping Rand from going too far over the edge. She's also instrumental in helping him to understand what needs to be done and how.
I think the hype is down because many people like myself have lost all faith in the writing ability and respect for the source that Rafe and crew showed in season one.
Based on the interviews, Josha doesn't seem happy when he was talking about Errol. I think he doesn't like some of the changes. To be fair, neither do I. Did you get that vibe from Josha?
More foreshadowing than spoilery for those who haven't read the books. If you didn't know what these taglines were referring to, they'd be pretty meaningless.
Verin and Alanna are too obscure for those fans who haven’t read the books. Also too lower tier to be featured. There are already enough for viewers to keep track of, I believe they were intentionally excluded.
She’s one of my favorite characters in the books but the show failed on this casting so bad. Nothing against the actress but she’s everything except for Min.
Oh wow. Avienda definitely didn't look like that in my mind or in the description of Jordan's books..... Not saying the actress won't be good..... But super different look. The Aiel genetics are very specific in the books. Not sure I would have changed that in this case..... (maybe she just nailed it to perfectly not to cast her though) There is already so much diversity in ethnicities in WoT. It's not really one that needed to be updated for the 21st century..... Maybe it's just the poster also... The way she looks in that image..... Doesn't really matter.
This is NOT Min! Epic Fail. It Has nothing to do with her nationality she is just not IT. I don't see women in Carhien and Tear flocking to imitate her lack of style or appeal.
Congrats on hitting 20K subs! And a big thank you for listing all of the interviews and articles in one place! They were really hard to find as they were all over the place
OMG 'The box'. Such an incredible section. The tension and pressure. Josha really gets the role.

Yay! It’s getting closer!! Finally!!
Hey Jon, I just noticed, big congrats on the 20k subscriber mark. Well done!
sorry if someone else has already said this- re: Egwene, maybe refers to her being able to create ter'angreal?
The crystal weaver may hint at how Egwene rediscovered making cuendillar, as well as her using a specific weave in the last battle.
I saw an interview with moraine & rand. I use character names because pike mistakenly called josha rand and I love that he is his character 💯
Congratulations on making 20K! You did it in time. We knew you would. 🥰

Congrats on 20k, Jon!!
Having Min and Mat together on a poster reminds me of Book 14.
Congratulations on making it to 20K subscribers!
Purple, historically, is a royal colour because of how expensive purple dyes were. Might have something to do with that as a design choice
I’m loving everything that I’ve seen as we get closer to S2 release. Keep the news coming!

Soooo close to 20k!!! Also, where did you get those taglines? On the Wheel of Time twitter posts, they're very different and very un-spoilerish...
From the JordanCon Instagram!
Crystal Weaver can refer to Elaine making angreals also
"Jonatan Blomberg Interviews" has 4 interviews. I can't seem to link them here.
In the poster of Elayne, my initial reaction was that Elaine has no belt because she has never needed to carry things around with her. She could just have a servant bring her a knife.
A thought but... is Suroth, perhaps, 'Under the veil'?

I actually agree with much of this. And I don't think Nynaeve's feet should be held to the fire alone, Egwene is also guilty.
