HOW TO BUILD A 350BHP FIESTA ST - OUR BUILD RECIPE

- Yes we look at how you build a stout and strong reliable 350bhp fiesta ST and we give you our build recipe so watch on to see what we did to achieve those figures.
It's worth noting quickly that some dyno's seem to be generous and give higher figures than others we actually achieved 332 bhp on more harsher dyno dynamics dyno's
Be sure to ask us any questions you want answering in the comments section guys and girls =)
So we decided on a Revo stage 4 package turbo kit and tuning, I know Dale at Clive Atthowe tuning in Norwich (Norfolk) and these kits are likely to run around 4-4.5k fully fitted but if you go with the basics it could be had for less. For the performance your getting it’s well worth it, it’s insane the performance it gives. Dale at clive atthowe tuning - tel:01603702400 will give anyone a very good special deal if they mention Peak Performance Reviews.
330mm EBC Apollo balance brake kit was from Hawke Motorsport - www.hawkemotor...

Illuminated tread strips & red calipers are part of the ST Style pack (as were darker grey alloys). Was an option on all ST trim levels.
Yep correct, if I said other wise I was wrong my bad.
The top-spec ST-3 comes with Sat Nav, automatic lights, wipers and dipping rear-view mirror, cruise control, climate control as well as keyless entry and ignition.
Nice mod list 👍. I am working my way towards stage 2 and looking at Revo for the map. I am looking forward to some more straight line speed to back up how it handles in the corners.
The Revo kit will be like a different car for you fella honestly it’s a beast on stage 2 Revo and I loved it 👍😎
Stock internals and 350hp from a 1.6 engine amazing, although saying that I'd be amazed to see it at 100,000 miles without at some stage a big bang....'ya pays ya money, ya take ya chances'
Epic piece of engineering 😎
It’s bloody brilliant, M sport and rally boys reckon it’s a very stout motor beyond these levels if you look after it. No signs yet and that turbo has been on for about 30000 miles so far 👌😎 service service service and love haha. But I’d say it would never be a bad idea to forge it if you have a little more money 👌😎 thanks for watching fella, stick around and subscribe as it’ll be great to have you around 👌😎
@@PeakPerformanceReviews I was going to ask how long has it been running those figures.
Myself im not into tuning but I am constantly impressed at the figures tuners are getting from engines.

Glad I answered, I think it’s an engineering feat and testament to the tuner.
If the cars not on a stand-alone engine management it’s often more testament to the engineering of the motor internals.
Thank you so much for subscribing fella I really appreciate it, do you own an ST?
@@PeakPerformanceReviews no my days of small hot hatches began and ended with a Pug 205 GTi 1.9 back in the 1990s today i drive a BMW m140i which I understand is a tuners dream but not if you want that warranty intact.
Mark Rhoden Ah mega that, great cars they were too.
Yes the B58 engine in the M140i is great for tuning and is definitely strong too 👌😎👍
Get yourself a full PERON/ITG intake system, put that heatsoaker 3000 in the bin! Wicked video, need to do a video together on this bad boy 👍🏼
Haha get me a free one and I’ll run it haha, these work very well and haven’t shown too bad a sign of heat soak however I’m not much of a fan of any open system even if it has a cold air feed unless it’s very well insulated and shielded. Thanks bro yeah we should bud 👌😎
eeeehmmmm 100x EEHHHHMMM in 5 min this was hell to watch

Just watched it back, I only counted 99

Toyota Turbo ah thanks fella I really appreciate it. Ah mega let me know when it’s done and the vids are up I’d love to see them 👌👍
Your looking at maxing out the injectors at 350. Need a set of uprated injectors to push past the 350bhp mark. 👌👍
Yeah I’m hearing at around this you’ll be at about 83-84% duty cycle so about as high as you’ll get with a good pump fuel, yep beyond that pump and injectors are needed. It’s kind of why I’d say this is around a sweet spot for the ST beyond this it’s so much more money that’s needed to be invested
@@PeakPerformanceReviews yep this is it bro. I learnt that the hard way lol. Love that front bumper 👌

Bits for mine not to easy to get but I found some good stuff save some money maybe a intercooler next year it's a direct fit rather than messing around cutting pipes to fit 😎
The reason I am sticking with this is cos I like unique I don't think you'll find another one 🤔
Haha I love that analogy, but yes I totally agree and I think I can totally understand why you would stick with it too.
Where can one get that front bumper for the fiesta st ?
Hello fella thanks for watching, please stick around and subscribe as it’ll be great to have you around on here. Pumaspeed sell them or direct from Maxton design - www.maxtondesign.co.uk/fiesta-rs-15-front-bumper
Looking to get an st and start modding it. Any recommendations as to how to ensure that the engine doesn’t let me down?
It’s depends how mad you want to go with it and how much you want to spend.
It’s very stout so until you start getting near or pushing at or around 300bhp you shouldn’t need to worry about it.
Unless of course you don’t look after the car well or bounce it off the Rev limiter everywhere.
Good choice and cracking car, tell me a bit more and ask me anything I’m here fella 👍🙌😎

For a new turbo upgrade, st200 is plenty fine!
Yeah I know it’s a common upgrade. Less laggy and more responsive no doubt too, just won’t make those bigger peak number. That being said it’ll suit the FST nicely if say. Yet to drive one with the ST200 turbo myself.
Hi mate, do you know if there is any truth in the rumour of some st 180 engines being forged from the factory on certain years, great channel
I’m not certain but heard the same rumours, whatever way you look at it I believe the pistons and con rods and both good for around 350-400bhp if the right timing, cooling and fueling is used so it’s a stout motor that’s for sure. At around 350bhp+ at least a block mod (let me know if you don’t know what this is) is worthwhile and beyond that it’s worth getting a higher grade forge internal build.
Depending on what your building for 350bhp is a great area of power to be at imo as the power to weight ratio is awesome.
Although these are very decent in a straight line I still feel they shine more on a circuit than a drag strip etc in a straight line.
Thank you so much please stick around and subscribe as it’ll be great to have you around on here.

Good fun cars but I learnt the hard way , similar spec but engine went bang !
What turbo and tuning module/tuning out of interest? I know of 3-4 friends now all with 330-350bhp and no trouble yet, overall they seem super stout but it only takes some poor software and some overly fruity pop and bang programming etc to cause issues. That’s why I went Revo, not saying they can go wrong but just know the time they spend on R&D etc before they bring a product to market
Peak Performance Reviews s242 revo , common fault in block between cylinders 3-4, it’s going to happen just when that’s the thing, did me a favour in the end as got me into something that I wanted to do and build a club sport e92 ring car
Scott adcock ah yes hence the block mods that can be done, I’m surprised at only circa 300bhp you would have a problem though. How did it go bang out of interest? Any problems with it before that? With heat? Oil? Any signs? What was the mileage?
Scott adcock we all going strong this far bit it’s certainly up at the upper limits.
I don’t blame you the FST isn’t the only car I have and will have either. My 94 Supra with 900bhp is in and on another league to this so this is never something I would push beyond this anyway.
Have some other cars and projects on the go too but this kind of area and build is a sweet spot for the car imo.
You in Germany or do you go over often? Do you do much track work in it where you are?
Peak Performance Reviews no signs just a lot of smoke obviously as oil mixed in pistons, it was used hard , over 2000 miles of lapping ring plus Hard laps of Spa, also had to fit 2x catch cans as due to very high speed cornering and jumps around ring oil would get flung into top of pistons , and revo air box down to turbo , gargled like hell till I got home to clean all pipes out, there not made for going under bridge down to tiergarten at 150
*Peak Performance Reviews* GREAT💖💖💖
Thanks fella glad you like, please stick around and subscribe if you don’t already 👍👍
@@PeakPerformanceReviews How much is the car ensurance for this baby this is my first car so I want a 1.0 engine and E85 as I want it to be as cheap as possible any tips first car would you recommend.
@@revanvonheaven8270 the 1 litre ecoboost engine one would be better for a first car as the ST is a fairly high insurance for a first time young driver. Where are you based in the world? In the UK E85 is not available from a pump fuel so you’ll have to buy race prepped E85 which is very expensive. You’d need a pretty impressive ECU or at the least a clever Flex-Fuel sensor if you were to run it too.

mine drives so much better on AP Racing coilovers! im getting a big turbo soon too running around 240 atm but i have seen turbo technics s280? so idk :/
I never had coilovers but wish I did, I hear great things about the AP’s for the money too ❤️
I loved ours when it was 248bhp it was a real sweet spot imho but I would say with 350bhp it was at times almost too much for the wheelbase and FWD, I did however drive a load of 300bhp cars and they felt great that would be my advice.
The s280 is a great turbo but I feel it suits a tune with circa 300-330bhp max not the full 350bhp it can run.
Better for the motor too unless it’s built motor 🙌
was it hard to fit the maxton bumper?
I wouldn’t want to fit it, professional body shop fitted it, I’m told it required a lot of fettling etc and was very fiddly
Why would you name drop the shop that put an illegal exhaust on your car?
I'm sure you are opening them up to a huge fine.

Have you thought of getting a lighter flywheel? Also a ported manifold?
Hello, there is a lightweight Flywheel on there I did forget to say that I think actually but not the Manifold. I have however since sold my car but absolutely loved owning it. Do you have an ST too?
@@PeakPerformanceReviews Hi, thanks for getting back. Really nice build you had. I do have stage 2 mountune. No BBK but EBC yellow and lines and eibach springs. Thinking about big turbo now, but also think it might ruin the torque characteristics for the city? By the way, if you have not seen it, I recommend the EBC ultimate fiesta build on youtube (bigger injectors and cams, etc. - 402bhp) Out of curiosity, what are you going to get now for a ride? Thanks. BTW does lighter flywheel make sens
e on stage 2 with stock clutch (getting kind of tired btw)? Thx
Sounds awesome, if I’m totally honest I liked my ST at Stage 2 more than I 4 I feel that circa 230-250bhp range is more suited to the car and it’s brilliant. Awesome more worth perfecting what you have. I always had lightweight flywheels on all cars I owned, it’ll always improve engine response and make the car a tiny bit quicker in every gear, very marginal but you’ll notice it. Yes I do watch the EBC ultimate vids and know the guys at EBC very well and we’ll be doing something with them all going well at a later date with other cars etc.
I now have a Honda Civic Type R (FK8) Facelifted new version and it’s amazing. I always knew it would take a seriously good car for me to not regret selling the ST, thankfully it’s amazing.

So sorry I didn’t see this 😫 YT hidden, have you still got the ST?

@@PeakPerformanceReviews 30 isn’t old
@@jakubm2347 why thank you I agree ❤️🙌 thanks for watching and for the kind comment …. Well for making me feel young still…. Which tbh I do feel young as I am really …. Well within reason haha
What size tires are you running
I ran stock tyre sizes, the FST seems to be a nightmare once you lower it and you run spacers etc for BBK etc, we tried running a 215/40 but it would rub a lot and would cause pretty nasty rips in the tyres and got a bit dangerous.
We even did have some work done to the inside arches, I found even with stock size tyres we needed to do that for heavy track work on high compression corners, lumps and bumps.
Used to have one of these. God I hated those wheels. What were Ford thinking? They look so cheap amd heavy
And the lug nuts were even worse haha! Yeah totally agree fella
how do you get 350BHP and and also reliable*
Stage 4 Revo turbo, it made 347bhp
Reliable I guess depends on how you want to define it I guess. I look after my cars, lots of servicing, triple ester race engine oil etc etc
2 years and about 25000 mile at this power with about 20 track days too of which were full days at Nurburgring and Spa. I’d say that’s pretty reliable, stick block too with no block mod 👍💪
@@PeakPerformanceReviews nice ! "triple ester race engine oil" which oil is this ? which oil exactly were you using ? how often did you change it ?
Miller’s CFS, it’s an ester based engine oil, I use it in every single one of my cars, not a crazy deal more expensive than any good oil but comes with huge benefits. You can even net some small gains in hp and torque with it too (very marginal) but the reliably benefits are the main reason I use it 🙌❤️
@@PeakPerformanceReviews thx, didn't know it. you still used 5W30 ? or other viscosity for this 350BHP FIESTA build ?
5w-30 if you can, if it’s a stock motor it’s better to keep the oil for the stock clearances etc 🙌
Stage 4???. A stage 3 peron map is 350bhp?
I don’t think it is …. Well at least on another search it appears they are 240whp which is about 276bhp-300bhp ish. Don’t get me wrong loads of manufacturers take on what makes a car stage 1/2/3/4 etc can and is sometimes very different.
Staging mods is a guide anyway, some people hate the idea that some people use stages to guide what typical mods are on a car and/or power. It’s not to say a stage 3 turbo car couldn’t make 350bhp on the right dyno. I’m not saying your lying either or that I’m trying to be funny. Mean no offence in what I’m saying.
Thanks for watching if you did? Do you have a FST?

Cat back exhaust - £500
New exhaust fire ring - £10
Solid motor mount - £170
Lower engine stabiliser - £40

Blow of valve -£150
We’ve got even more than the above but imo everything bar poss the clutch and flywheel is needed (imo it is though if you use it like we have)
Imo it’s better to be super honest, you could do it for less but .... heck knows how .... I suppose not doing it right but yeah can be done
The above without clutch and flywheel = £7680
With clutch and flywheel = £8930

I wouldn’t go to 330-350bhp range without the minimum these mods.
Although at around this I’d do the block mod too if I ever did this again, guessing that’ll be circa £500 at a guess.
