The true craftsmen of this world are few and far between but the eastern craftsmen and women seem to have a devotion to as close to perfection as human hands are capable of. These pieces are put together so precisely they almost seem to snap into place. That level of artistry comes from a lifetime of dedication to they're craft and it shows in everything they make!! BRAVO!! Much respect and admiration!!
National Treasures, who created such art, that is beyond price. It's too incredible to contemplate the training, the number of hours, the dedication.....Thank you for posting this, something I have never in my life seen before, the apex of accomplishment.
Craftsmanship that takes a lifetime to master. The sad part is these national treasures are getting up in age and once they are gone l hope there will be another generation to carry on their skills.
While I would love English subtitles, art, beauty, and mastery have their own language and it all was so beautifully translated in itself. This was compelling and breathtaking to watch from beginning to end. The lifelong artisans of East Asia are truly mesmerizing masters of their art.
Fantastic wood joints fits perfectly and interlocking techniques really only master craftsman can do it with the sharpest cutting tools. Hats off with greatest respects.
I literally laughed when I saw the mirror-finish on that lacquer job. Every step, I hated seeing such amazing craftsmanship getting covered by another layer but the finished product is a gem! Even the frame was gorgeous! I can't believe I watched every second of this. That may be one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen and it was a privilege to see so many great masters showing their crafts.
MIKOSHI is a version of a Japanese Temples & Shrines . You can only see them when there’s a festival or MATSURI in Japan. They believe that MIKOSHI IS A GOD Carriage when He is going somewhere. Maybe that’s the reason why they need to put inside the cabinet.
I can only dream of my black car having half the gloss even after clay barring and waxing. Im so jealous of the carvers chisel set lol. One can only dream.🥰
So so incredible. I was so mesmerized that how time passed by just did not realize. This final outcome is simply more precious than gold. Truly amazed to see such detailed work with such perfection and that too with hand by such amazing workers. Just wow...!!!
Amazing. FYI, lacquering the mikoshi took 5 months, according to what they said. Previously, they put 5 layers in total of the different lacquer before they made it black. Beauty!
Outstanding. Masters. No electric or battery powered tools? Except maybe last weaving machine. All handcrafted with traditional tools. So skilful and beautiful. High quality workmanship and finish. Amazing. Total respect. tfs. 🙏💕
What gets me is that he does a huge part of the work sitting cross legged not standing at a workbench. Very beautiful mastercraftsmanship. So relaxing to watch.
wow, i am in aww and amazement. the would of design and artistry need to take a leaf out of this book. no modern world in the west can comprehend this kind of mastery, they are to concerned with making money and fast. Yet this is worth more than any amount of money in my eyes. I just hope that it doesn't become a lost art.
That is the most beautiful incredible master craftsmanship I have ever seen I would like one of those but leave the wood naked Covering it won't let you see the true craftsmanship people that have not seen this video have no clue on how it's made truly remarkable you all that made this are true masters I bow before you sending love to all and all yours from Michigan USA thank you
Amazing! The very first video on youtube I haven't seen one single negative comment. I was shocked by the beauty of the craftsmanship, but I was even more shocked by all positive comments.

Domo arigato!!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing the art and craftsmanship!!!! We are blessed by the sharing of this work!!!!
Arts in any form is appreciated through out the world, I think the goverment of each country got to step in and keep knowledge these Art masters alive, they are part of history of man kind, I am from Iran and thesme things happening here masters and their craft knowledge is disapearing, A big sham .thank you for sharing the beautiful video.
Probably a 100's of years of combined finely skilled craftsmanship gone into producing that, not to mention the skills passed down from many generations. Astounding..
The guy making the rope looks like Asian bubbles from trailer park boys. That temple is simply beautiful. All the craftsmen involved is amazing. All masters of their craft. I’m still in awe I got to see that made by hand amazing quality.
I am speechless seeing such craftsman completely building this piece all by hand. The Sam technique used 2700 years earlier are still used today. The Japanese were brutal and cruel during WW2 and having a father that was marched 90 miles in the heat 24 hrs a day with no food or water has made my opinion of the Japanese people very poor. I don’t think I am capable of forgiving them for the cruelty but I have acknowledge the amazing talent that they have passed down generation to generation. They are a very different people and I hope that someday my hatred for what they did to my father will go away. Carrying such negative thoughts has not helped me move forwards in my life. God will judge us all I guess in the end. I just don’t understand how they could have treated other human beings so poorly. My father made it home but inside he was dead. He never got a good nights rest for his entire life. Screaming nightmares and crying were what I remember growing up. He would never speak of it, he never did until he died on Christmas Day in 2012 I’m grateful to God that he can finally rest. I miss him. Sorry, I got off topic, amazing works of art just amazing. ✌🏻❤️🇺🇸
Many thanks for this marvelous video, you guys did an amazing job documenting this. May you tell me what is the name of the final creation ? I understood its utility but if you could give the name and explain what each element is representing i would be very thankfull
It's called Mikoshi, which is the portable miniature shrine carried by the parishioners of a shrine during festivals that holds the spirit of the deity of that shrine
I can honestly say I can watch a master-craftsman ply his/her art all day.
This gentleman should be teaching! So as not to lose this amazing beautiful art!
Wow, thank you!
Until the previous life, Japanese craftsmen had a master-apprentice system, and it was an implicit rule to steal skills from masters and learn.
You can only admire and watch such skill, To be a apprentice to such masters would certainly be a honour.
i'm glad you enjoyed it

Thank you for not adding music and not playing in double speed. It is a pleasure to watch.
Craftsmanship that takes a lifetime to master. The sad part is these national treasures are getting up in age and once they are gone l hope there will be another generation to carry on their skills.
It's truly a masterpiece .... Tons of patience and craftsmanship... Indeed respectable

its a shame that English translation for manga, doujinsho, etc are readily available but there isn't English sub for this masterpiece

They are the best in the world !
As they are only made in and used in Japan, Best In Japan is more accurate.
