Doing so many things concurrently is impressive

it’s a different time now. Almost everyone takes gap years and it’s actually a good thing.

Ehhh a lot of the students who went straight through at my medical school really regretted it and I will also say a lot of these people struggled in med school from burnout. I think there is value in taking a break and exploring life and what matters to you. Not everyone was like this but I would say roughly half of the students who went straight through struggled.
My daughter is just learning that this is suggested. She is currently in a shadow program in Portugal. It’s very difficult to get clinical hours. She is starting jr year at 18. It breaks my heart hearing her feel defeated. She is getting great exposure by seeing surgeries including brain surgery. I pray we can find something
