The department I worked for in South Florida had several uniform varieties, including uniform short pants, which were nice in hot summer weather. Uniforms were supplied by the department with an issue every other year. If you ripped something, shirt or pant, it was replaced automatically by the quartermaster. Also, the mics we had for the radio were blue tooth, which were nice because you could clip it on your shoulder and there was no cord connecting it to the radio. As for shoes, Merrill's or Sketchers just as long as they were black. Hang in there, love your videos!
My dept gives $1050 uniform allowance every Decemeber but they tax it down to $700. We aren't authorized to wear polos but our mics are issued. I carry one cuff key that clips onto my front shirt pocket and holds ID's and one large tactical key that stays hidden in my rear pant pocket on a keyring.

The new gear looks good. Even if you take good care of it the normal wear and tear just runs stuff down (those darn seatbelts). I see you have the shoulder mic for the vest. Have you tried adding an ear piece? I found that useful in louder areas (I am not crunching my neck over to hear). With most of the Motorola radios there is a screw in plug on the adapter connecting to the radio you can use.
I'm honestly surprised that your boots from the academy lasted so long. I can only imagine how relieved your feet feel now with the new ones. In doing some research, I've discovered some agencies require polishable boots as a part of their uniform which really sucks because it limits your options. How much leeway does your agency give you on your uniform standards?

Aw I'm so glad! Wow!! How exciting, you're going to do great! Black slacks, white button up shirt (or any dress shirt that covers you up well), if you have a blazer that would be a nice touch. I recommend putting your hair in a sleek bun. Minimal makeup and try to wear flat dress shoes.

For sure! I did two internships before I was hired. I did one at my current department and one in a county over. It's awesome for your resume and you learn a lot.

Our uniforms are that same wool material both tops and bottoms and our uniform policy just changed to a 5.11 style pant and the long sleeve polos for our external carry 🙂 I love your goofy and bubbly personality. Yup l started wearing Merrell shoes and boots for daily and duty use almost ten years ago and never looked back. Great videos stay safe.

No, the gun I carry on duty is quite large. I carry a glock 43 off duty.
Do you wish your dept would use earpieces for your radio so suspects couldn’t hear it especially if they have a warrant.
No I find ear pieces annoying haha We use code words anyway so no one knows what we're talking about.
