Thanks Mike. I have been looking at QSC. I have all JBL now and have had for 5 years, however, I have had one sub and two speakers go completely down and had a couple that developed rattles. I have no where within a for hour radius that can fix them. QSC has an authorized service center and hour and a half away. Next time we rotate out speakers, It is looking like QSC is the route we are taking. Thank you again.
Thanks, Even my SRX's have rattles and bugs the hell out of me but only from the back side, still sound great in the front when its working correctly LOL. I have always liked the QSC's and was blown away the first time I heard the 8's
I had a rattle in my PRX too. Took it to a local repair shop thinking it was something major. He pulled off the back and it turns out the tweeter is threaded on and comes loose from the vibrations. He put some pipe thread tape on it, turned the tweeter tight and it's been rattle free for 3 years. Simple fix. Just pull the amp off the back and you can get at the drivers.
What’s up I have a question. So I have a 1500w Cerwin Vega 10 inch monitor and wanted to know if the 2000w qsc k8.2 would be louder not in the sense of Base but just the high end and if it would be louder in base that would be a plus? I would figure it would at least be louder and maybe match the bass since the k8.2 has more power
Good review I was looking for something for the ceremony. I'm also a JBL guy who has never been a fan of the QSC K12 which I have. I was looking at those SRX 815 but they look heavy. I think I will give the K8 a try for the ceremony. Thanks for the review
Im a mobile dj in a small town. I primarily do school dances from 30-60 students. Occasionally i do gigs with 200+ people but that's only 2 or 3 x a year. Typically small venues for the dances. I do have a pair of k12.2 speakers and have loved them. What i like about the k8.2 is the size and weight. What are your thoughts as far as using these as primary tops for small events? I haven't heard them yet but trying to research them in the mobile dj area and haven't been able to find much honestly. Great video and thanks for your input
Any opinion on the small line array systems? I'm taking a hard look at the LD systems Maui 28 g2 as opposed to 8" tops with subs. I think it's a cleaner setup and they do have a wide output angle.
Hello Mike, I have the first gen K12, I would like to get the second gen. I am not sure if I should buy K10.2 or K12.2 - I would like to buy K10.2 (size and weight) but I am not sure if there will be a noticeable sound (bass) difference?
Thank you for your reply, bigger is not so important to me. I am also using the new Bose F1 Subs (Love them _ I Used to own KW181 subs) My concern is.... If I had to use K10.2 for a small party (80-100 people) would I be loosing the bass VS K12.2
Marcus Franklin yes i always heard good things about the K10.1s you cant go wrong with either one im sure just dont over drive them they are still only a 10"speaker
so sorry another question, im trying to learn how to dmx? what do you think i should use? i went a and gigbar 2 just to be easy can i dmx the gigbar 2?
Wow by braddah!!!! You and I have come a long, long, long ways from the Ramsa 200s. hahahaha!!! I've had my K8 1st generations for a long time, and they are not only a great ceremony speaker, but mounted on a qsc kw181 with the included sub pole and a dual speaker bracket sitting next to a covered x-stand with a DDJ-SX2 in a case is a quick and capable small party solution, and with the 108 degree throw, coverage is pretty shocking even from such a closed in setup. Looking into getting these K8.2s, but still gotta do some research. I disagree with your comment on the back of these being better than the 1st gen... "Keep It Simple Stupid." Kinda worried all of them digital bells and whistles that rely on the read out screen may be too many moving parts to go wrong, but I'll probably make the move just based on the success that I've had with the first gen k8s. N-E ways, hope all is well with you. Shakaz from the Bay.
The new K.2 are way cleaner in the back. I'm not sure what one sounds better as I haven done a side by side but I have heard the K8.1 and I was looking around for the hidden sub as I couldn't believe all that base was coming out of an 8" speaker... I hope the new ones are just as good or even close to the old ones ill be happy :) MM
I have the k12.2's and k8.2's. I'll tell you what, I use a ev ekx 15 as the sub and my system sounds MUCH better with the sub and two 8's, than with 2 12's. Strange but true
Aug. 2024, Who's re-watching this again?🙋♂️
Still love my K8.2s

Are they 2000watts loud??

Not too sure. The k8 has a nice base sound but it's best with a sub if you are looking to feel any base
Nice video Mike! Looks like we're on the same page today, just uploaded a sound comparison on the 12.2's.
Very nice video you did thanks MM

Vince James Hi Vince, what did you end up going with? Cheers.
DJ Mikey Mike .... Would you recommend the QSC K8.2 as your primary setup for ceremony and cocktail? I live 15 mins from Hollywood DJ.
Michael Davis they work great 8s or 10s would do great for that applacation i use my 10s to backup my 15s mor le than once

I heard the new K12.2 have less deep bass then the old K12s... Any truth to this?
I too heard the same thing
@@DJ1Hands1on I've owned the Legacy'd and now the K12.2's and I will say that this is true

DJ Mikey Mike Susca Hey do you run a monitor speaker? My next purchase Is going to be a monitor speaker, so i can hear my mixes in realtime
Not very often unless I'm in a booth I can hear pretty good but these 8's or 10's will work great for that. MM
DJ Mikey Mike Susca Yeah one 10 will be perfect for a monitor
800 buck speaker for a ceremony. ..b.s....I don't care who you are
