Sandoval's voice and music is like a warm blanket when I'm feeling lonely and depressed, which is very often these days. If you like melancholic loner songwriter music (like I do) you should check out Mark Kozelek, Tiny Vipers and Ali Murray. They all write such incredibly sorrowful yet beautiful songs.

Oh my god me too, Mazzy Star are the only band or musicians that can literally send me to sleep it's so peaceful.... they're amazing and make me so nostalgic
i saw mazzy back in 96 and she has a beautiful voice. They played everything u want to hear. But I tell ya. At one point u could almost feel everyone at the show including the band kind of just collectively yawn. Not in a bored way, mind you just so mellow. I swear she didnt move but 2 inches the whole time on stage, just kind of looked sadly at her tambourine.
I had a cd burn of this from a bad MP3, so there is a part I expect to always skip, but doesn't XD Detailed musical soundscapes make this effect more apparent.
she never left us, of course her first dream with Opal is now passed as did her friend Kendra Smith. I grew up with Sylvia Gomez in LA and she says the band is just in a dormant stage. Hope really feels out of place on stage but shall indeed release more work in the studio.
the album i what i called the break up album...she was involved with Dave the guitar player..who she fell for before the release of the album "She Hangs Brightly', Hope and Dave broke up and it was very bitter break up...so the album So tonight is full of venom..her spewing all these tremendous lyrics about the relationship..the breakup rather...by the time Among My Swan was realeased..it was sort of an aftermath of that relationship.....
