This is possibly my favourite Sandoval song. It's so sad and beautiful and mesmerizing. Sandoval's voice and music is like a warm blanket when I'm feeling lonely and depressed, which is very often these days. If you like melancholic loner songwriter music (like I do) you should check out Mark Kozelek, Tiny Vipers and Ali Murray. They all write such incredibly sorrowful yet beautiful songs.

@@mitshii04 I made it to one of the 2013 shows Mazzy Star did for Seasons of Your Day, pretty special experience for me but the crowd wasn't sufficiently reverent in my opinion. Thought about traveling to one of the 2016 Until the Hunter gigs, regret not doing it. Missed a local 2009 Through the Devil Softly gig because it was announced late and I couldn't get coverage for the shitty job I had at the time -- should've just no call-no showed! If there is a next time Hope and Colm tour, I'm there!

20 years ago I was in drug rehab going through withdrawal and this dude constantly played her music over and over, I fell in love with her voice and music and made me forget the pain, this dude said he was her brother and became my best friend, Robert (bobby) he said they grew up in East LA up in the hills. I love you Esperanza.

I have a theory....but I could be wrong. Her good friend David Roback once lived with and dated Suzanna Hoffs the lead singer for the bangles. They had also collaborated in a project called rainy day. I dont know exactly how that relationship ended but who knows what David may have said to hope in confidence over the years. She may have written a song about it. Just my .02
