Hello Donna and Fran watching the replay, from Johnson City Tennessee. Our temperature today is 28°. Thank you for showing a display of all the quilts. They are all beautiful, and look forward to seeing every show.
Hey Fabric Cafe Team thank you for a great catch up and update (and for the replay so I could catch up). Please add another vote for panels, and quilt as you go (I would love to see what you do with QAYG, that would be exciting). Thank you for all that you do; the videos, the patterns, 'talking' with us the way you do, and the teaching. You really encourage and enable others to be quilters and creative; you are contagious in the best of ways. All the best for the year ahead. 🎉
I just recently (since Oct 2024) became a huge fan of your 3 yd quilts. So far I have made 3 quilts using the townsquare pattern. One of them I turned into a crib size quilt. I now have 4 books and can't wait to try new patterns.
I can hardly wait to see these 5 yard quilt patterns. I have 4 yards of coordinating fabric, just need one more to make a quilt. I’ll be visiting my local quilt shop for a good match soon. Thank you! I love watching your videos and making your quilt patterns. My beagle is helping me type this so forgive any mistakes. 😂😂
I purchased your very first book in 2013 and have made 7 of the 8 quilts listed inside. All the patterns are classic and would be great (and are easy) for any newbie quilters.
We will be getting freezing rain/ice tonight in Liberty Hill, Texas tonight. Can’t think of anything better to do than have Fabric Cafe on TH-cam in my quilting room planning for my next quilt.
Hello Donna and Fran, in listening to the video, You mentioned pocket quilts. Well my version of a pocket quilt. Is probably different, I like to make a pocket that matches the reverse side.Of the quilt lined with flannel fabric about 12 " to 15" tall sewn on to the back of the quilt so your feet can slip into it. So they stay warm while sitting in a chair or on the couch.
We made 18 quilts for Christmas, so exhausted but happy. We got the last of the quilts out and everyone loved theirs. Children and grandchildren received their quilts.
I would love to see some of your quilts using the QAYG technique, connecting with sashing, to make things easier for those of us that don't have access to a long armer or find it too expensive.
Another vote for the panel book please! Yes, Donna I have *some* panels that I don't know what to do with 😂 ... Fabric Cafe to the rescue again, helping us with our fabric challenges\ stashes (and buying more fabric😂) one quilt at a time.
I love when y'all are just being yourselves. Much better than "acting" like you don't already know the pattern or something like that. I started watching when it was just Donna and loved how real she was! I too have at least 2 dozen panels.
I have followed you folks since I learned how to quilt back in 2014. I always looked forward to seeing you in Hampton,VA and am so very happy that I had the opportunity to meet you all. Keep up all the exciting news and quilts. ❤❤ Pam
Yes to Panel book specifically the 1 yard panel; include sampler blocks surrounding the panel. Fabric panel ideas: Fire breathing dragon for teens, wildlife panel for hunters. Horses for ranchers.
Yes, I’m slightly embarrassed to admit that I can make a number of 5 yard quilts from my stash. There - I said it out loud now 😂 But I will need help to know where to put the lights and darks, and tiny and big prints. I’m hoping by going through your new book it will answer those questions for me. Yay! Very excited!! ❤
I’ll be there - at Quilt Com in Phoenix! We spend the winter here, and I’m so excited to see all the beautiful quilts and new ideas and products at Quilt Com. I can’t wait to buy your new book! I’ve been working on charity quilts and they are wanting larger sizes, so this will be perfect!
Do you have a quilt block of the month? Or a quilt of the month? Like a subscription that comes with a kit each month. I think that would be awesome!! I just found your channel a few months ago and purchased some books and patterns and one 3 yard quilt kit. I’m so excited to get started!!
I'm fairly new to quilting, and I love learning about traditional blocks. Now that you are making the large 5 yard quilts, could you please create a book of patterns using traditional quilt blocks? I'd LOVE that! Also, plaids, dots and stripes would be a great angle for another set of patterns.
@Susan Bell-Mackie, Texas is 16 hours behind Brisbane so their videos are at 8am on Wed and Fridays and when they have DLS, 7am. Unless you are in other states, then adjust as necessary :)
WOW!!!!! i just looked into the PreCut app. Plan to watch the videos tomorrow and then order. It would save me so much time as I frequently make my own quilts based upon old vintage quilt pictures. Thank you for mentioning this. Lol, i had just gone to check the time difference for my area as sure want one of your new books. Love from Maine.
I have been making 3yard quilts for a lot of years. I have made 22 baby quilts and they have all 3 yards quilts. My family loves the quilts and they hate to use them. I tell them to use it . Debbie
Wed morning it's cold 39 degrees in brazosport area suppose to b in mid 40's wind will pickup n rain starts Thurs too cold to sew in sew room so been working on my cathedral by hand in front of electric heater in living room got plenty of fat quarters to make 5 yds but will they match not likely since I'm one of them even scrappy has to blend
Re the membership... do the members only streams include quilting techniques/tips? Also, will you be developing a pattern book that uses layer cakes (one package) and some fabric .. without needing matching jelly rolls or fat quarters?
When showing the fabrics maybe show more of the numbers two and three in different colors. I've seen some where you use purple or blue where I would've picked a green. Or maybe in a very colorful an orange or red or yellow. Thanks
Hello, Hélène! We don't know for sure if any quilt shops in Normandy currently carry our books, however, we do sell all of our books as downloads so you could print them off at home right away! You can find them here - www.fabriccafe.com/books-digital-downloadable-s/2012.htm
A special note to Pat and any other (fellow) new quilters: Donna and Hannah have a video series for begining quilting that is simply fantastic and hands down the best available: th-cam.com/video/Q5xCQL3-gQk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vrAMV0x-Lz8PF89k. I've watched, and re-watched, the videos more times than I can count. I cannot recommend the series enough.

This year I’ve made 17 3 yard quilts! My first year! Found you and ordered my first book-now I have 22 books! They are like potato chips! 😂
How do you become a member?
I read that Purple is the new "color of the year"! My response was "it's been my color all my life"
Mine too!

I am new to 3 yard quilts and have made 1 quilt so far. I have 2 kits yet to sew for my great granddaughter.
Love seeing Donna.
I am new to the “family” in 2024, and I have now arranged all my yardage into 3-yard quilts. Really 😀 I’m a bit obsessed lol

Have you ever done a disappearing 9patch quilt
And Sharon from Texas...
What about a quilt for a double size bed? Yes to wheelchair quilts. My quilt store near Toronto Ontario Canada carries your books.
How do I check out the membership page to join?
I would really like a quilt geared more towards a queen size. King is too big for my bed. Finished size around 86"" to 89"" would work best for me!
Re the membership... do the members only streams include quilting techniques/tips? Also, will you be developing a pattern book that uses layer cakes (one package) and some fabric .. without needing matching jelly rolls or fat quarters?

Any chance of doing a baby quilt book?
