Also the whole fiasco isn’t just about simple 3 wishes. It’s a buildup of frustrations about so many things. And the 3 wishes were the catalyst that led that buildup over the years to go hell loose!

Star rail came out and people realized nothing in genshin was ever going to get better because almost every qol change people wanted in genshin got put in star rail, with genshin still being as it always has been. More energy, better ways to repeat farm materials, overflow/reserve energy, actually challenging content, semi customizable relics, etc. All of it went right into star rail.
And to me that's hilarious cause hoyoverse just said to genshin players "oh u want changes, oh what if we just make a new game and out those changes in it instead"

I genuinely do not regret spending battle pass money on HSR because I can clearly see where all the money is going. And my money is being used to make not only make the game better, but setting a gold standard on what a free-to-play mobile turn-based RPG could be not only in rewards but also in promotions and new interesting minigames. I feel bad for people who supported Genshin monetarily. Its like supporting an abusive relationship.

@@reubenprasanth271nah GI is under the lead of Cai haoyu and HI3 and HSR is by David Jiang. that's why in HI3 and HSR free 5s is a thing. Cai is also responsible for HI3 terrible treatment to players during the early days and only when David took over that HI3 actually rose popular. GI being successful as it is now is partly the genre it choose being open world and the story writer team isn't controlled by him. the story is great across all 3 games so i see the main different is the reward system that is under the leader control so it is mainly cai haoyu fault
While on one side the HSR community is very excited about the huge investment of update 2.0, on the other side the genshin community is now literally in chaos, it all comes from a quote from their genshin 4.4 stream

I told a friend about the free Dr. Ratio who never played Star Rail and wasn't planning on playing it at all. He played the game to get far enough to unlock the mailbox and get him. I don't care what people say, i want an endgame content where they allow you to have the cinnibar spindle, but you need to replay the entire event/you battle some hard battle where you actually have to build your characters to get it. Its insane, absolutely insane, that Albedo's best weapon is never ever obtainable anymore. Either they make a gacha for it, or they make you grind for it
And here's the thing genshin rn isn't "easy".......geshins difficulty is literally giving u FREE WINS......and people say "oh it's just a casual game" to justify the beg game design......cause here's a good example of casual games........90% of Nintendos games are casual, and they work cause there easiar games but u need to learn the mechanics of the games to beat the game.........THAT is a casual game...........and with genshin u just tap buttons "here u go, here's a trophy kid" and that's just such a bag game design it still pains me

Before sumeru and Fontaine it didn't take me long to complete the games content and hit a block where I was bored and then sumeru came with an interesting map that felt empty and complicated and just only made me realize I did not care about exploring if it wasn't for rewards
The world is bigger but is filled with nothing of interest
To be honest genshin doesn't really have the scope of Nintendos game design because Nintendo can make casual games with loads of depth
Take Mario Cart, Smash bros, Pikmin 3,Animal crossing, Metroid, Earthbound, Pokémon, Zelda games
All of these games are relatively simple but if you want to dive deeper they're way more complex and fill every niche you'd want

we need more voices to help us. I want this game to progress and get the feedback responded to. We need more QoL,more rewards end game content and responses from people who look into feedback. Hoyoverse doesn’t want to value their players and it’s ridiculous for 3 years that they won’t listen to us.
We have enough voice right now. Everyones and their mothers making videos about this drama and everyone knows about it. What we should do is stop speding on the game as long as they won't change. You don't have to be afraid that mihoyo just close the game cuz of it, they won't abandon one of the most successful ship in the world.

I know free Ratio worked on me. I had quit after striking out trying to get Topaz, and hadn't played in a couple patches. But free Ratio for me to log back in at the perfect time to ride the 2.0 hype wave, and I ended up getting the monthly and the battle pass to help catch back up.

Ratio is the same type of deal as gachas giving lots of rewards away for their anniversary to get new players to play. Just cuz Genshin gives like 20 wishes for anniversary doesn’t mean that other gacha games can’t give actual meaningful rewards to gain interest of players. They come for the cool free stuff, and inevitably some will stay if they like the game and spend money. Think before you speak next time.

As long as the reaction is constructive and gives hard credit, Mtashed Reacts would be nice once in a while. You always have unique and logical take on these topics so the 2nd perspective is especially meaningful
I think Mtashed would benefit from just using content to make short video essays and using the videos to build on his points rather than live commentary
Maybe if those videos are longer but that takes effort and most reaction stuff isn't really constructive or making something new if you just sit and watch it even if you talk and pause right
I think it works better for shorter videos but definitely not longer ones unless he wants to livestream him commentating on specific points

If the decision on whether I continue playing a game rests primarily on how much "free stuff" I get on its anniversary (just some extra pulls on a virtual slot machine???), I would stop wasting my time and just quit the game already. I play a game for fun and experience, maybe for the story, maybe for the music and art, maybe for the ways it makes my muscle or brain tingles. But I don't think I am that much of a gambling addict that the "fun" is based mainly on pulling a virtual slot machine, that a few more/less "free gambling tokens" actually matters. honestly.
And if I want to quit, I would just do so immediately and go spend my time on another game that is worth more.
What I don't understand is why would I want to waste my precious time kicking up a fuss/drama?
because anger? that I feel "entitled" to some stuff that I didn't get? or I feel "cheated"? Like I paid for something I didn't get? Or maybe the developers didn't develop the game like I wanted?
Frankly speaking, I don't see enough basis/reasons for either. Even the last one, which is True for me as I don't necessarily like the way a game develops, even after giving "feedback", I don't see the reason for anger and would just stop playing it and move on. As it has happened so many times before with so many games. I feel that it is kinda fair that players don't necessarily have to continue playing the game (especially a "free" one, or rather, "pay as you want") and game developers don't necessarily have to listen to the players (because it doesn't align with their plans/visions)

I'm actually glad you sponsored Echocalypse. I was looking for another turn-based gacha and it made me aware of them. Is it the best game? No. But the developers seem to actually care about its player base. They've been actively making changes based on community suggestions and that's all you need to do. Show your players show respect and they'll stick around. And yes gorgeous artwork helps too. Any chibi gacha fan should give it a try
Look I didn't like HSR when it started because I thought it was a bait. But I've been playing it because I've played HSR after the Dr. Ratio news and I've enjoyed it now. That is the pull of a free 5 star and he is so strong. I'm considering of quitting genshin because I have done everything I can. I've cleared the abyss so many times that I find it boring now after it
I mean . . They told us straight to the face that the Abyss is the last content they will ever add to the endgame. . All I needed to do was build enough characters to make me beat the content a few times and then boom. . The game is over except for the story, so i just quit lol

I gotta say, the thing you said about how reaction content makes you feel a bit bad is very respectable. Sometimes I see the content creators I like getting reacted to but a lot of the time I can't tell if they're getting more views from the bigger content creator or not. It feels very circumstantial because most people are not going to watch these kinds of TH-cam videos twice.
I think the best reaction content comes from a view of someone who's actually somewhat knowledgeable about a topic the video is talking about. I think adding personal anecdotes and experience creates a good reaction video.
The worst kinds of reaction videos are those that just take another person's video and add nothing to the conversation. That is when reaction content becomes parasitic.

I've never seen this version of Mtashed before, feels like I'm watching a new CC for Genshin / Honkai.
Im a day 1 genshin player and a month ago i decided to make a new account to just enjoy it all over again but man everything was frustrating as a new player experience. Non of it was fun at all. Poor quality of life, the tedious oculus hunting, and the feeling of being so left behind especially when theres an event, and the unusable new characters you get bc of mats. It seriously made me quit. Haven't played for over a month and i gotta say, i dont have the urge to play again

I mean I think giving out a free five star standard including weapons would be nice for every1 cause most people could alteast make use of a refinement of a weapon which don't get me wrong are not that great anymore but u typically don't have r5's on weapons. I mean you could have gotten c6 qiqi but probably don't have a r5 Amos for your Ganyu, even though one of them would be somewhat useful. But I would rather have them give us actual content if they are gonna "listen to the community" or whatever they said.

Players switching from Genshin to HSR doesn't really solve anything or is the flex they think it is- you're still playing a Hoyo game. You're still supporting the company you're lambasting. If Genshin goes under then you're helping set HSR up to get the Genshin treatment- be the cash cow that funds their other projects.

EXACTLY! i don’t understand why people think leaving Genshin (because it’s bad) and then going to Star Rail think they are sending the right message to Hoyoverse. Both HSR & Genshin are all Hoyoverse games at the end of the day. money given to HSR is money given to Hoyoverse. and then Hoyoverse uses that money to keep Genshin mistreating its players. You’re not helping the problem by supporting another Hoyoverse game. You’re just perpetuating the problem in another way. Hoyoverse still wins. Hoyoverse still gets the last laugh.

There are often old fashioned monetization guys that think exactly the other way round, that giving out free stuff is bad. A decade ago I worked for a big MMO-company and there was a massive server fuck up. So the company decided to give out something for free to make up for it. After that was done, behind the scenes, the analytics guy came and told us to please never ever do this again, becuase the free stuff given out statistically, in his sheets, meant X amount of monetization lost that players would have had to pay for. It didn't even occur to him that such a gesture of good faith and "Sorry, we messed up" could lead to more engagement from the players and thus more time and money spend with the game.
That's how people that make decisions in the background can be out of touch massively, as they only have their charts.
That's only works when you don't have another game that will attract this players anyway. What the selling point of HSR if Genshin already had the QoL and the generosity ? "Look its another genshin but without exploration, and with turn based combat auto play". Seems a little less attractive.

Hoyo is taking the Apple approach where they do things "The Genshin way" where they add "new" features that everyone in the industry has already had for a decade and introduces it as "an update" BUT but... they also don't just implement it like how everybody else does it. They have to do it "The Apple way". Excuse me. "The Genshin way" where it's different and sometimes they do it better but most of the time, they just end up breaking something that already worked. A system has already worked for a decade for everybody else and they somehow mess it up.**cough** loadout system **cough**. Apple doesn't GIVE stuff. They TAKE AWAY stuff. They take away the headphone jack. They take away the charger and they can't even be bothered to pre-apply even a plastic screen protector like literally everyone else does. They know their customer base will remain loyal no matter how rotten they get because there's no other Genshin Impact just like there's no other iPhone, Macbook etc... They will just keep sucking us dry as much as they want because we keep letting them because we're addicted. We're friggin' addicted and they know that.
I've lost so much motivation to play genshin it's insane. I sometimes go weeks at a time without playing it, and last year I think I stopped for at least 4-6 months. I just hate that Hoyo has made it so apparent that genshin is their cash cow, as it's too big to fail thanks to people who plug their ears, close their eyes, and ignore everything that's wrong with it. I don't know how many long time players (those who started in 2020 or pre-Inazuma) still play today, and I consider it a miracle that I still log on from time to time after playing since day 1 and witnessing how they seemed to progressively stick the middle finger to the players that were there at the start.
Additionally, I also don't like how anything with the Honkai name attached seems to be their love child, which is one of the biggest reasons why I decided not to play HSR (not to mention that even if I did decide to quit genshin for HSR, I'd still be supporting the ones who screwed over so many people).
I will give genshin credit in a few areas though. It has one of my favorite characters in it, and it finally got me fully immersed into gacha (even if I'm f2p in the other games I play).
