Say what you want about its overall quality, but man, in a time of total laziness and soullessness in dino docs, Dinosaur Revolution was creative. There's nothing that bothers me in dino media more than a lack of creativity.
Love this. For future reviews, may I suggest: - Dinosaur! (1985) - The Dinosaurs! (1992) - Prehistoric (2009) - Adventures of Ceratops (2014) - Leaps in Evolution (2018) - Amazing Dinoworld (2019)
i refuse to believe that amazing dinoworld came out in 2019, there is just no way 2014 spino, some of the weirdest dromaeosaur designs i've ever seen, jp rex with some fluff thrown on for literally every tyrannosaur, etc
Dinosaur! from 1985 was a really cool program that was in many ways ahead of its time and the go motion animation holds up surprising well. Its VERY dated today but still a notable program
he also has to talk about prehistoric predators, its litterally my childhood, but honestly he should talk about prehistoric before, literally the best show on discovery about prehistoric things
Things I like about the show: • I like how all the dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures have their own unique personalities like pretty much every animal today (like what you would see in your pets or animals in a zoo for giving an example) they're not just instinct driven creatures. - Refreshing and bird-like designs of the dinosaurs. - Giving more attention to mammals. - A good-ass Majungasaurus dammit! - My boy Broken Jaw, I love him.
The human-like behavior shown is probably why Dinosaur Revolution’s dinosaur segments were put together and released as a movie called “Dinotasia” which drops all of the documentary elements and just treats it more like The Rite of Spring segment from Fantasia (hence the name).
I remember watching this years ago and I don't remember despising it, so I don't think the cartoony way the dinos were depicted turned me off too badly. I just assumed it was made for a younger audience and so shrugged off the behaviour and just appreciated how good the dinos looked.
The male T.Rexes in DR have one of the most iconic and recognizable designs I have ever seen on a dinosaur, I love the skull-like shape their white coloured skin gives the head
I like the scene where an allosaurus and her babies were trying to sleep and a small dinosaur kept waking them up. Gotta love the karma that dino gotten at the end for not shutting up.
What's fun about the Protoceratoos segment is the fact that the animals are familiar, but distinct. That segment takes place in the Bayan Mandahu Formation of Inner Mongolia. Here, many of the animals are similar to the more well known Djadochta Formation, but are considered distinct enough to warrant their own species. In this case, instead of the normal P. andrewsi, DR introduces P. hellenikorhinus - a form that differs from the former in having a larger size and a pair of nasal ridges. It's encountered by Velociraptor osmolskae, a counterpart to V. mongoliensis, but having some slight skull morphology differences. Currently, it's being eyed as a separate genus.
18:34 - 18:39 this line is just very confusing, i know what he means is that dinosaurs don't have the same complex behaviors or thinking than humans, but this line pretty much also implies that humans aren't animals, which is stupid because humans be always and always be animals. This is like calling birds aren't dinosaurs when in fact they're indeed dinosaurs
Apparently some of the dinosaurs have names, the Allosaurus is Brokenjaw, the "Dinheirosaurus" is Woodstock, the Ornitholestes is Sylvester, the Rhamphorhynchus is Ptweety, the T.rex couple are Stumpy and Tinkerbell, their son is Junior, and the evil T.rex is Jack Palance. According to the Dinosaur Revolution wiki, the high Shunosaurus is nicknamed "Shroomo" by fans, but the other names are canon and they were named by the people who made the show, I think.
FINALLY!!!!!!!! (I am a little disappointed that its a B+, because i love this documentary. But now I watch A and B tiers, they are the most accurate).
One thing i love about this documentary its when they do a little homage to Charles R.Knight when the cryolophosaurus fight and one jumps over the other
19:46 well idk that sometimes happens with real life animals too, it’s called Hen-House Syndrome or Surplus killing, it normally happens when a predator finds an abundance of a food source that can’t really do nothing but be eaten, we can see that the Trovo was in a environment that it dominated and that nothing really posed a threat to it so ig that, in itself right could also be accurate too
I think some goofiness is okay. We've seen animals do really silly things before, like getting their heads stuck in holes, getting high off of fermented fruit, or even stumbling into each other and falling down. I don't think there should've been so many moments like those in the show, but some would've been fine.
I always enjoyed this series simply because of the fact that it had the balls to characterize the dinosaurs and made them feel life-like. It always felt like a movie (probably because it was actually turned into a movie), and my 10 year old self loved that to bits
I love this documentary, especially how they didn't play it so safe with the designs and speculative behaviour. When I still lived with my mom I remember catching it while channel surfing one night and got overly emotionally invested in the allosaurus with the crooked jaw lmao

Torvosaurus did not exist in Africa BUT another giant Megalosaurid likely did… Megalosaurus Ingens - who is seen as very close to Torvosaurus likely is another megalosaur. The Tanzanian and Uruguayan material clearly suggests a new huge Megalosaurid (again), but it is out of the time zone of Torvosaurus and in places at points it couldn’t reach. So yes there was a giant Megalosaurid (Ingens) just we don’t know what till more evidence (which seeing as we found the Uruguay material means it’s likey more as time passes).
Yes, with Jurassic Fight Club, Dinosaur Revolution (a mini documentary most GGI in 4 episodes release in 2011, and produce by Discovery Channel with Erik Nelson; Alan Eyres; Brooke Runnette like producers) is consider to be one of the most controversiala and bad dinodocs that ever existed ! But at the opposite of Jurassic Fight Club, where for this later it's totally deserved, this dinodocs don't deserve all this hate since in fact, it's a good and regular but correct one (truly this dinodoc is nice, not perfect but nice) ! In fact, it's only about the use and the treatement of the dinosaurs and others ccreatures, especially the characters with the story turn around them, who make all the unfairely reception he received. Especially its lack of seriousness mainly, who was the most criticized and made reserved reception ! So okay, in this dinodocs, dinos and others creatures don't talk but alway have all along a sapient intelligence since they made different facila expression who represent their current mental state (when they are shocked, surprise, afraid or happy, we know that because they take head of people when they are like that), have some human reaction, made actions and situations time to time completely goofy with visual joke and gags who appears time to time too. and two or three others thing in this way. This production was made first and mainly at the start for a young audience, that explain theses littles things, but at the base, the series was not intended to be a documentary, but a fiction of six episodes loosely based on the famous American comic book Age of Reptiles by Ricardo Delgado (a famous person who are oftently reffered in the Jurassic Park sage, and was even behind the scenes of the third film), without a narrator. But the subject evolveda and become a animal documentary with the will to be educational. The production of the series begins in 2009 (after several months of pre-production) and has a duration of the three following years. But even if the result is correct and decent, his production has many problems behind the scenes, with many cut and replacement and modifications about the story and their setting and creatures. Mainly for the needs of the production and budget, so there even things who was thought but never realise. For example, the documentary was tought to have 6 episodes, and many animals on the production list was never made. But despite all that, the documentary is really good, his synthetic animations really more than nice (many people said that this is one of the best 3D dinos and design never made), its educational nature (even if the level of goofy is a little useless) and his entire reconstitutions of the environment and the creatures themselves are truly respectfull like they really were when they were alive, and all we see like representations is base of true knowledgen accuracies and reseachs about them. Even the hypothetical aspects of the show (like some hypothetical physical characteristics that don't pass the fossilisation process, the behaviors of dinosaurs, and even hypotheticals but interesting and still realistic situations like dinos on drug by toxic mushroom ! (on our era, in comparison, some lemurs use toxic millepedes to drug themselves). So, even his the goofy side of this doc can have a little bad impact about the learning of the infos give by this doc, there no big loss. And the voice by Rick Robles is decent ! So even if this dinodocs is not perfect and possess his weaknesses, this dinodocs is in reality one of the most respectfull and accurate representation of prehistoric setting with Planet Dinosaurs (of 2011 too) in term of scientific discoveries about dinos and others non dinocs creatures ! I recommend higtly everyone who can to watch this short but interesting dinodoc ! For me, I will give a A or B (since this tier list focus on the representation of dinos and not about the possible comedic use the producers can made with). But for the ones who dont want watching goofy situation, there a second version called "Dinotasia" release in 2012 and who is a 80 minutes movie, a compilation of the best and most serious scenes of the serie, without commentary or intervention by scientists, with Werner Herzog as narrator (still good too). So yes, this version is good too, even better !
Certainly amusing to observe this dino-doc managing to reach that high into the list even with the somewhat goofy presentation (which I'm kind middle ground with, thou I definitely would have loved to see things being kept to same natural tone as WWD). That said, your observations are pretty on point that has allowed me to find more enjoyment on Dinosaur Revolution, so good job there Red! :D Bonus note, goddamn that moment about mutilated arms only to slap that scene of T-Rex's arm being torn of got me way hard: now I gotta clean a solid square foot of soda I spat on the floor because of bursting out laughing at that... Excellent work there XD
I personally loved the anthropomorphizing in this. At first i thought it was weird but looking back this is exactly what made me love Dinosaur Revolution. It was a new take on making things like this and even though being a little bit over the top with dinosaur characters it made the documentary something special (for me that is)
This is my favorite dinosaur documentary based on pure nostalgia. I never actually watched the documentary, just clips scattered around TH-cam. A major part of this is a TH-cam video called “The Best of Dinosaurs.”
I find that the goofiness is basically just an irritating element, I would prefer it not to be there, but it's not going to stop me from enjoying a genuinely fantastic series. And this is a fantastic series. Along with Prehistoric Park, Planet Dinosaur, The Truth About Killer Dinosaurs, and, of course, Walking With, this is easily one of my favourite paleo docs. Also, as much as the design of the male T. rex is super edgy, I can't help but un-ironically love it. Great video as always. Cheers.
F in the comments if you've listened to that one tribute video of the DR Allo The one with Boulevard of Broken Dreams as the chosen song Good Lord I listened to so many edgy dinosaur tributes when I was little.
In reference to 12:50, it bears repeating that not everyone agrees w/Troodon being invalid (E.g. From Varricchio et al. 2018: "Given that [Stenonychosaurus inequalis] had already been synonymized into the senior T. formosus36 and remained unused for 30 years, Troodon formosus remains the proper name for this taxon, exclusive of L. mcmasterae, and we continue to use it here").
Well, the show was originally was going to be an loose adaptation of a comic series titled "age of reptiles" but discovery channel rejected the idea because they wanted a new "Walking with dinosaurs" (however, they misunderstood that the show was much more that a clone of wwd). So some of the story lines got scrapped but they kept'd the mixed genre tone the show had because the creators wanted to be it's own thing rather being an goofy rip off. And the anthropomorphic dinosaurs maybe a mix bag, but that's the documentary's identity and it work's in it's favor because the writers were able to tell an good narratives that are character-driven base(for example the watering hole had a zero to hero story about broken jaw from young impulsive theropod to adult that uses patients that is an emotional, funny and relatable. And there's nice contrast between broken jaw and the torvosaurus that the torvsaurus is shown to an walking killing machine that doesn't plan ahead and use brute force to get what he want's and broken jaw use's stealth, element of surprise, and has help for he's rival turned allie) sometimes the events in the show weren't that realistic . Back to the show, if the show was an live action series about dinosaurs on cartoon network instead of an documentary the show wouldn't hadn't to be universally hated. And if an another documentary like walking with dinosaurs or march of the dinosaurs did an similar mixed genre style tone it wouldn't have worked and it just wouldn't be an good fit.
I totally understand that anthropomorphising the animals was very over the top and inaccurate, but at the same time that's why I love them. I watched this show when I was way younger, so their demeanor made me love them because I could sympathize and understand their actions, especially in the Allosaurus episode. That's probably one of my favorite dinosaur things ever just because of that.
Squirrels are Omnivores, in fact, they are predatory omnivores and their prey includes: insects, bird eggs, bird hatchlings, small birds, snake eggs, snake hatchlings and small snakes. As my second favorite dinosaur documentary (after planet dinosaur by bbc) dinosaur revolution is an unfortunately overlooked by other Dino documentaries. This review does it nothing short of justice. I recently read the 3 tyrannosaurus article. I found it interesting but I will only truly believe this theory once more more proof is revealed. Ps: good luck finding anything wrong with planet dinosaur other than the fact the dinosaurs fenestra are visible and the “troodon” is under-feathered and the spino is bipedal. Oh and the microraptor is brown in colour instead of black. Besides that, good luck! Also, your videos are so good.

Can’t wait to see red raptor tear into the pliosaur inaccuracies in planet dinosaur (Pliosaurs are gigachad and underrated everybody pays attention to the virgin mosasaurs)
I heard that the animation was never meant to be a documentary and just a series of fun shorts, hence the goofy anthropomorphism. I guess anything dino-related with realistic animation and no talking has to be a documentary, so it was turned into one. Sad.
I really liked dinosaur revolutions forit's designs but also that they used some dinosaurs that are lesser known dinosaurs like sinraptor and rahonavis and of course that they gave the coelurosaurians feathers ( except ornitholestes don't know why). But what was weird is that they gave the animals in the show human-like emotions which is not how a reptile or a bird-like animal would have acted.
This is good as a movie rather than a documentary. You know how we always want fictional, non educational movies to have accurate dinosaurs? That's basically what this is. It's a story about cartoony personified dinosaurs, but they look accurate (for the time.) It's just treated like a documentary for some reason.
One possible support for Nanotyrannus is the brain case being pretty different from an adult Tyrannosaur but I think that can be somewhat disproved by the idea that tyrannosaurs filled different niches as they aged hopping from small predator to medium predator to apex so their brain might have changed to adapt.

Just want to say I’m a longtime lover of everything scientific and you seems like a guy I could talk to for hours. Love this channel
Thanks! I'm so glad you like it
@@redraptorwrites6778 well you are the main reason why many people including me got ever more interested in dinosaurs.
Say what you want about its overall quality, but man, in a time of total laziness and soullessness in dino docs, Dinosaur Revolution was creative. There's nothing that bothers me in dino media more than a lack of creativity.
Fortunately the new Apple TV special Prehistoric Planet coming up in May looks really nice, which some cool creative designs.
Love this.
For future reviews, may I suggest:
- Dinosaur! (1985)
- The Dinosaurs! (1992)
- Prehistoric (2009)
- Adventures of Ceratops (2014)
- Leaps in Evolution (2018)
- Amazing Dinoworld (2019)
Yeah, all of these, even the ones release before the 2000 and the Walking with .... universe deserve to be treated !
Not even planet dinosaur
i refuse to believe that amazing dinoworld came out in 2019, there is just no way
2014 spino, some of the weirdest dromaeosaur designs i've ever seen, jp rex with some fluff thrown on for literally every tyrannosaur, etc
Dinosaur! from 1985 was a really cool program that was in many ways ahead of its time and the go motion animation holds up surprising well. Its VERY dated today but still a notable program
he also has to talk about prehistoric predators, its litterally my childhood, but honestly he should talk about prehistoric before, literally the best show on discovery about prehistoric things
Things I like about the show:
• I like how all the dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures have their own unique personalities like pretty much every animal today (like what you would see in your pets or animals in a zoo for giving an example) they're not just instinct driven creatures.
- Refreshing and bird-like designs of the dinosaurs.
- Giving more attention to mammals.
- A good-ass Majungasaurus dammit!
- My boy Broken Jaw, I love him.
ik this comment is like 2 years old at this point, but isin't this the show with the high shunosaurus that looks like a cow? lmao
Honestly despite a few inaccuracies this is still my favorite dinosaur documentary
Same since it's my first Dino doc and my first encounter with dinosaurs.
To be honest, I think the anthropomorphism and the goofiness on the dinosaurs is what makes this documentary so memorable.
The human-like behavior shown is probably why Dinosaur Revolution’s dinosaur segments were put together and released as a movie called “Dinotasia” which drops all of the documentary elements and just treats it more like The Rite of Spring segment from Fantasia (hence the name).
It was originally a co production with Pixar, which sadly never happened, and recieved mixed reviews by Critics.
Fr
I remember watching this years ago and I don't remember despising it, so I don't think the cartoony way the dinos were depicted turned me off too badly. I just assumed it was made for a younger audience and so shrugged off the behaviour and just appreciated how good the dinos looked.
The male T.Rexes in DR have one of the most iconic and recognizable designs I have ever seen on a dinosaur, I love the skull-like shape their white coloured skin gives the head
That's kind of why I loathe the designs. Feels like something made for and by edgelords. 😅
@@pierrebegley2746hurr Durr its bad because it's cool 😔
I like the scene where an allosaurus and her babies were trying to sleep and a small dinosaur kept waking them up. Gotta love the karma that dino gotten at the end for not shutting up.
"No wonder they look like they're starving."
That was a real S tier one.
The show was filmed inside a gulag
Can we talk about how the Allosaurus LITERALLY started bugling like an elk?
Ahh I knew they looked different those weren't my beloved Protoceratops andrewsi
Nice detail they added and good thing you noticed 👍

this line is just very confusing, i know what he means is that dinosaurs don't have the same complex behaviors or thinking than humans, but this line pretty much also implies that humans aren't animals, which is stupid because humans be always and always be animals.
Why did they name them
@@hyena_fan IDK, but they're already pretty cartoonishly humanlike in terms of behavior so I guess that names suit them. XD
@@hyena_fan Even in documentaries with live modern animals narrator in many cases give them names.
Sylvester and Ptweety
Yep, fits their role in the episode just right
If only they named torvosaurus
I actually loved this as a kid. Didn’t learn much, but it was entertaining.
FINALLY!!!!!!!! (I am a little disappointed that its a B+, because i love this documentary. But now I watch A and B tiers, they are the most accurate).
At least it wasn’t like a C or worse, an F.
@@The_Dino_Edits Very true. It doesn’t matter, I will watch A tier and B tier.
This was the top comment, I got the rating spoiled 😶
@@orcaman178 Oops
One thing i love about this documentary its when they do a little homage to Charles R.Knight when the cryolophosaurus fight and one jumps over the other
20:34 certified gorosaurus moment
19:46 well idk that sometimes happens with real life animals too, it’s called Hen-House Syndrome or Surplus killing, it normally happens when a predator finds an abundance of a food source that can’t really do nothing but be eaten, we can see that the Trovo was in a environment that it dominated and that nothing really posed a threat to it so ig that, in itself right could also be accurate too
It was a parody of the prehistoric beast trope where it goes out of its way to kill and cause pain
7:32 'can someone focus on rajasaurus and the decan traps' bro predicted the future
I think some goofiness is okay. We've seen animals do really silly things before, like getting their heads stuck in holes, getting high off of fermented fruit, or even stumbling into each other and falling down. I don't think there should've been so many moments like those in the show, but some would've been fine.
A Decent Documentary…
I always think of that one nature documentary of the baby panda rolling down the hill whenever people complain about the “anthropomorphizing” here
I always enjoyed this series simply because of the fact that it had the balls to characterize the dinosaurs and made them feel life-like.
Alternate Title: Dr. Thomas R. Holtz's Redemption Arc
He can finally rest now…
4:50 And now sadly in 2024 Miragaia is invalid and became synonymous of Dacentrurus armatus
That moment at 11:01 in the video is just gold.
RRW: Can’t someone focus on Late Cretaceous India with Rajasaurus and the Deccan Traps?
David Attenborough in Prehistoric Planet 2:
Hold my brandy, dear boy.
Very thankful for the Dr. Carr article link, looks genuinely interesting, thanks for the video!
Tbh I don’t care how cartoony the dinosaurs are and I just love this documentary all around!
Contrary to Fight Club, this garbage absolutely deserves its bad rep.
It’s nice seeing Dinosaur Revolution getting a high rating because this was the reason I got so into Dinosaurs as a kid.
I finish work pretty late and *love* watching your vids to unwind when I get home
Bonus note, goddamn that moment about mutilated arms only to slap that scene of T-Rex's arm being torn of got me way hard: now I gotta clean a solid square foot of soda I spat on the floor because of bursting out laughing at that... Excellent work there XD
I personally loved the anthropomorphizing in this. At first i thought it was weird but looking back this is exactly what made me love Dinosaur Revolution. It was a new take on making things like this and even though being a little bit over the top with dinosaur characters it made the documentary something special (for me that is)
The intro of this documentary ROCKS
This is my favorite dinosaur documentary based on pure nostalgia. I never actually watched the documentary, just clips scattered around TH-cam. A major part of this is a TH-cam video called “The Best of Dinosaurs.”
I thought I was the only one that knew that exists
@@AnonymousNomad I thought I was the only one too
The designs, while outdated, are beautiful.
Let's be honest, these were better stories than what we got in 2013's Walking with Dinosaurs. Not to mention, no cheezy voice-overs, just a narrator.
.
God I can remember watching this over and over when I was kid. It used to be on Netflix and I’m really sad it’s not anymore.
Cheers.
This was the doc that I used to watch when I was a kid. It taught me about feathered dinosaurs and colors
I absolutely love your Dino doc reviews 😂keep making good stuff
Dinosaur! 1985, just don't forget that one. Everybody forgets that one 😥
This series is so nostalgic for me I loved it and was scared of it at the same time lmao

The one with Boulevard of Broken Dreams as the chosen song
Good Lord I listened to so many edgy dinosaur tributes when I was little.
Oh, God, I feel old.
I love this Dino Doc, but where can I watch it today? I find getting the DVD is hard to do.
TH-cam
@Michael Cianciolo I meant in full quality, if that’s what you mean, could you send me a link to episode 1? That one’s rare here.
It wasn’t ever meant to be a documentary. It was supposed to be a series of short stories.
7:35 bro predicted Prehistoric Planet S2
Dinosaur revolution is a 🐐ed Documentary. plus Torvo had that showa goji mentallity
I'm sooo glad that I've grown up with this fantastic documentary
Hell yeah, I thought dinosaur revolution would get at least a b, can't wait to see planet dinosaur be reviewed! That documentary is my childhood.
"At least it didn't simp to death"
I Died!!!
I love this series, I love the stories and design of the dinosaurs especially the T rex looking like a skull it's awesome
My favourite dinosaur is majungasaurus and I love this doc I remember getting it for Christmas along with the other docs like last day of the dinos
I watched clips of this documentary as a kid and never knew it was meant to be educational to be fair non of the original audio was in those clips
Honestly, my favorite thing about pretty much the entire show is the Shunosaurus and it's story.
You should review the cut version, dinotasia it takes out the "goofy" parts
Wait a minute, didn't the tyrannosaur youngsters in walking with dinosaurs look different than the adults and were leaner and faster.
Wow even the trike has no spikes in the round thing SO ACCURATE
Squirrels are Omnivores, in fact, they are predatory omnivores and their prey includes: insects, bird eggs, bird hatchlings, small birds, snake eggs, snake hatchlings and small snakes.
Edit: I don't mind the goofy dinosaurs, it gives them a bit of character and it's gratifying to see a small mammal trolling the two dinos.
You: Majungasaurus

I can't believe you compared the Guanlongs to the goons from that Barbie movie, I just had a "I understood that reference" moment. Anyway, solid review and I can respect your input Red Raptor. I didn't dislike this documentary, the cartoon behavior was the biggest issue I had with it but otherwise, solid video. Could you consider doing Prehistoric America at some point? I would be intrigued to hear a review on that show from you. Anyway, hope you have a great day, stay safe and looking forward to the next video.
Dinosaur revolution is truly a classic
I feel like I saw you on Mattshea's channel before
The whole point of the tarbosaurus is that the loud always angry dinosaurs are ineffective to the point he gets ganged up on by EVERYONE
SPINOSAURUS IS BIPEDAL YOU ARGHHHHHH
Red raptor: nannotyrannus is one of the most heated debates-

I love how you used Megamind to make memes off of Recent Discoveries. That's awesome. Also, I look forward to BBC's Planet Dinosaur. I'm very curious about the accuracies and inaccuracies in that Documentary.
OMG HOW DID I NOT RECOGNIZE THIS?!?!?
12:05 this is a nod to a fossil of, what i believe is, one of these mammals. It fell in a trunk and got stuck and its body was preserved and later found. I remember my professor telling hs about this it just seems so funny to me.
Can’t wait to see red raptor tear into the pliosaur inaccuracies in planet dinosaur
(Pliosaurs are gigachad and underrated everybody pays attention to the virgin mosasaurs)
I heard that the animation was never meant to be a documentary and just a series of fun shorts, hence the goofy anthropomorphism. I guess anything dino-related with realistic animation and no talking has to be a documentary, so it was turned into one. Sad.
One of the 2 Guanlongs reminds Me of Cassowaries which is Actually How I depict Guanlong to Look like even Including the Waddles
I didn’t mind the human-like behaviors since it just made me happy when I smaller and that’s a positive for me
I really liked dinosaur revolutions forit's designs but also that they used some dinosaurs that are lesser known dinosaurs like sinraptor and rahonavis and of course that they gave the coelurosaurians feathers ( except ornitholestes don't know why). But what was weird is that they gave the animals in the show human-like emotions which is not how a reptile or a bird-like animal would have acted.
When I was younger I loved watching this and the anthropomorphizing did feel a little human for dinosaurs, it was so unique and I had fun with it.
This is good as a movie rather than a documentary. You know how we always want fictional, non educational movies to have accurate dinosaurs? That's basically what this is. It's a story about cartoony personified dinosaurs, but they look accurate (for the time.) It's just treated like a documentary for some reason.
@7:35 yes please, I hope Prehistoric planet s2 focus on Rajasaurus. Rarely mentioned in pop culture.
It wasn't a focus, but it was a big role in the Isisaur segment
One possible support for Nanotyrannus is the brain case being pretty different from an adult Tyrannosaur but I think that can be somewhat disproved by the idea that tyrannosaurs filled different niches as they aged hopping from small predator to medium predator to apex so their brain might have changed to adapt.
This guy made a video showing parts of this doc and I rewatched five times
